The little kitsune illusion sat on the edge of the lake, her feet dangling in the water as she though about her new found connection with it. What she could remember of the time before becoming an illusion was one where she did love the water, but that had died when she was exiled because of that mermaid....the one that still haunted her dreams. Even at the beginning of this life though she had minor control over water and as she was growing, so was her control and unexplained fondness for it. By all rights she should despise it. Veive's tail swayed gently behind her and her ears were laid back against her hair, relaxed in her private thoughts.

Ayame pushed her way slowly through the grass, her head barely above it. oh how she wished she wasn't so little. She was getting the hang of walking, her butterfly wings offering more and more balance each day. With Lavi working so often and leaving her to play in the illusions fields she found herself lonely yet she thought she understood why Lavi was doing what she was.
She stepped into a clearing that opened out onto a lake. water....ick it made her wings all sticky. But she had to get baths, said Lavi, so she put up with it, knowing anything Lavi would have her do had a reason that didn't bear fussing about. no fussing meant more fun, usually.
Her eyes were drawn to a figure on the waters edge. A new face, or wait....did she recognise that illusion?

Veive's ears perked at the sound of movement and twisted to find the cause. It seemed to be coming from the grass further to her left. Turning her head curiously, she waited, ears twitching, to see who was coming. When the tiny butterfly girl emerged from the grass Veive wasn't sure if she was relieved that it was only a minor distraction from her thoughts or if she was peeved that it wasn't something far more interesting. The illusion seemed familiar in some way though and Veive's curiosty began to peak slightly. Where had she seen this Illusion before...or had they never met before?

Ayame, curious among other things, decided to investigate further into who the other illusion was. A kitsune girl, she realized as she took tenative steps closer, for dislike of the water if naught else.
It only took a moment even at her pace to approach close enough to make out the other illusion better. She quietly looked the girl over, though her eyes were shining like a candle in the dark with her curiousity. She seemed okay, a friend perhaps? or something else possibly...she drew her small frame up as best she could and spoke, trying to be a little confident despite the proximity of the icky wet lake.
"I'm Ayame, who are," she paused to think, speaking was so new, and she couldn't remember all the right words yet, but she wanted to get it right. It wasn't easy trying to make her wants known before she'd began finding out waht words meant what, or could get ehr what she wanted. "you?" As she spoke the last word it sounded more like two questions, what it was meant to ask and the wonder of if she had gotten it right, though the word couldn't have carried the second unspoken question too easily.
She did her best to remain still but with the water so close and the kitsune's tail so interestingly close it was all she could manage to not just turn slightly in place and flutter her wings.

((haha, sorry, I usually make RPs polls...))
Veive cocked her head and listened to the little butterfly girl, her brow creasing as she tried to examine her and listen to what she said at the same time. Judging by her speech and such she couldn't be much past Veive's own stage or maybe one behind, but she wasn't sure. Each illusion was so different that she had almost given up trying to guess ages completely. The girls slow speech aggravated Veive slightly but all that she let show was a small furrowing off her eyebrows. "I'm Veive." Reluctantly taking her feet out of the cool water she turned herself and tucked her feet up next to her so she could get a better look at the newcomer. "And who are you?"

Ayame pouted at the question. She had said her name right, she knew that....had she not said the right words after? It frustrated her that she hadn't yet learned entirely how to speak properly. At least she understood what was being said to her clearly enough, she grinned to herself for that feat as she spoke the words again she was certain were right.
"I am Ayame. Good to meet you Veive." She did a little curtsy despite her annoyance with the action, it seemed so useless and nearly always left her off-balance, and her own facial expressions made it obvious she disliked it, as she hadn't learned enough self control. She was fortunate today, in front of this new illusion, and kept her balance as she stood straight again.
"Why do you sit by the water?" She looked down at the silt beneath the clean waters edge, noting the difference between a bath and this water. perhaps the more solid stuff could be used for her art? She shook her silvery hair to settle it better, her trip through the grasses having left them as if she had just crawled from her bed, and blew at the few stray locks that landed in front of her face.
[it's no problem now that i think to look for it =D]

"Yes, you said your name was Ayame but I meant 'who are you'...like have we met before? Oh well, guess it was my fault for not phrasing it correctly." Veive shrugged slightly and watched, amused, as the little girl bowed. A fairly proud individual, Veive took amusement from this action since she would never dream of bowing to someone else, especially someone she barely knew.
"The water?" Veive looked back to it and shrugged again. "I guess I just like it. There's no real reason. I think it's..." she had to think of the correct word before she spoke, "soothing." Turning, she placed her feet back in the water, careful not to get the hem of her dress wet. "So what are you doing here Ayame?" she asked casually, watching small fishy play around her toes.

Ayame frowned, puzzled at the question. It crossed her mind that she did suspect they had met before, but she couldn't think of where, or when even! She tilted her head at the kitsune girl as she thought and quite soon dismissed the notion of figuring it out altogether as nothing seemed to come to mind.
As the girl's face turned from quisitiveness to amusement when she curtsied she gave her a sour look, maybe it would be better not to curtsy at all, unless Lavi was watching, then she would have to anyway...
She watched as the kitsune settled herself and placed her feet in the water, leading Ayame to decide to sit nearby and face the girl. Soothing? water and soothing just didn't seem to go together right, but maybe the kitsune liked the water some? She puzzled with the thought as she watched the water ripple, reminding her of how the top of the grass looked from home when the wind was strong, and how at ease it left her just to watch. Maybe it was like that?
"I'm lonely, and sometimes there are fun things out here, since my mommy has given me per-miss-on," she struggled with the word and flushed in embarassment, "to go exploring here because it is safe and sometimes fun." Ayame looked again at the water and watched the fish swimming about the kitsunes feet. maybe water wasn't so bad, at least not if it was only your feet. But would the other girl mind if she tried it? she looked tenatively back and forth from the waters edge in front of her and Veive. This was the first illusion she had come across since she had first began exploring the grassy hills and nearby area, best not to turn the moment into something bitter by doing something wrong.

Veive nodded her understanding, she knew what it was like to be bored and feel the urge to explore. The only diffrence was that she didn't always have her guardians permission. At the mention of it being safe Veive creased her brows again thinking back to her extremly vivid dreams of before and started to hope that they were just dreams after all. "I live near here so this isn't exactly exploring for me." She lifted a hand and pointed to the water fall at the other end of the small lake. "Our house is inside a cave behind that. Oh no!!" Veive gave a surprised yelp as a fish jumped in the water and splashed the hem of her dress. Growling, she held her hand over the wet area and extracted the water, shaking her hand off back into the water. "You can come sit with me I guess, you just might get a little wet." Her eyes travelled to the girls wings skeptically, unsure if it would be okay to get them wet or not.

Ayame jumped, startled when Veive leapt up and then somehow pulled the water off of her that the fish had so courteously splashed her with. Her eyes widened as she focused, awed at the effect. She barely heard the kitsune's offer to sit.
As long as she kept her wings behind her she shouldn't be worry, she thought, and Veive could do that neat water trick too if she got splashed. She Sat down alongside her and pulled off her sandals and socks before trying to mimic the kitsune, curious now of the feel, yet her little feet didn't quite reach the water. Oh to be taller...
"Water is icky...but mainly just when it's bath time, My wings always get wet no matter what...why live behind water?"
She watched as Veive's toes dabbled in the water, wanting to understand better what made it enjoyable, but miffed at being unable to reach it.

Veive wasn't sure but Ayame's little comment about disliking water hit her. She wasn't sure if she agreed, or felt insulted, or maybe even protective? Either way, she decided not to comment on it, she was actually enjoying someone's company and she wouldn't ruin it over something small. Looking to the waterfall that marked him home she thought for a minute. "I never really thought about it. We just always lived there. Ice, my guardian, just always lived there I think and when she took me in I went to live there with her. She likes the water. I was a little water drop illusion when she found me so I guess it made sense." Now there was something that Veive hadn't thought about in a very long time. She was exiled by a mermaid and the sea was her downfall, yet she had been reborn as a drop of water initially?! Well that was ironic...
Moving her feet she noticed that Ayame's feet didn't quite reach the water so she concentrated slightly and raised the water level near the little butterfly girl so that her feet were just barely submerged. A slightly surprised look crossed Veive's face as she realised that was the most advaced bit of water manipulation that she had ever done, and she had done it with almost no thought or concentration. What the hell was going on with her?!

[wah!!! gaia gave me an invalid mode thingy and then didn't keep my post! pooh... *re-writes, very upset*]
Ayame listened to Veive intently, holding her wings absolutely still as to not interrupt her.
She rocked and wobbled, kicking her feet slowly as she looked out to the cave again at it's mention. Wouldn't they get wet going in and leaving? She looked up at the sky and sighed as loving fingers of wind caressed her silver hair, leading to a soft smile as-
Ayame gasped and scrambled back in terror, wings fluttering frantically and hands clawing at the ground behind her as she tried to back up when the water suddenly submerged her feet. She lay there for a moment, her breathing quickened and her face flushed as she stared, wide eyed, at her damp feet and where she had been sitting. A little shakily she crawled forward and looked over at the raised water and then up at Veive, "Did you do that?" and as she finished asking whispered to herself, "If she and I are alike as illusions...what can I do?"
Carefully she resettled herself and dangled her feet into the water and felt herself relax. Perhaps water wasn't so bad after all, she thought to herself as she grinned and wiggled her toes, looking over at Veive with mild admiration.

Veive soon recovered from her own thoughts and shrugged. "I guess I did. I wanted you to feel the water and then it did that, so I guess it was me." She looked at the butterfly girl who was staring intently back at her and began to feel odd. The artic kitsune illusion had never really taken the time to make friends, finding it easier to blow them off with an air of indiffrence or sometimes they just simply wouldn't get along for one mundane reason or another, but now there seemed to be someone that didn't quite feel that way. Ayame was nice and young, naive maybe in Veive's eyes...usually the things that annoyed her, but instead, she kind of liked it. The little butterfly girl had done nothing to distrub her (yet) and was actually kind of nice to have around. She would never admit it outloud of course, but she was finding that actually liked Ayame a little.
Feeling uncomfartable with her sudden growth in water control she attempted to change the subject. "Your wings are really pretty, can you fly yet?"

Ayame kicked her feet in the water, actually enjoying it with the light wind accompanying her hair in light breaths. She fanned her wings slowly at the question and glanced back at them with some little self admiration.
"I can catch my balance...and hover a very little bit...They're pretty though...OH! I draw, alot." she grinned and held out the stub of a remains of her old red crayon, the frayed edges of paper coming off around it made it look nearly like a wax flower. She needed new ones, almost all of them looked like this now. It slowly dawned on her her deviation about her wings, and she quickly worked back towards it. "I drew myself once...my wings looked all ew. I wish i could do something as fun as this," she splashed at the water and smiled up at Veive.
Here eyes went to the girl's tail after a moment, her young attention diverted. it looked so soft, not as colorful as her wings, but white....somewhat like her hair. She puffed it out of her face where the wind had left it. "What do you do for fun, Veive?"

Veive listened and wrinkled her nose at the thought of coloring. She didn't like things like that so she could never see how othet kids found it to be fun. "Mostly I like to sing, people tell me I'm good at it so I like to go find a quiet place and practice. I practice alot actually. Not just singing." Her eyes fell to her feet as she thought about the rest that she wanted to say but was afraid of how she might answer questions Ayame might have. "I have a pair of daggers I practice with in the woods too. When I'm not singing or doing that I'm either exploring or reading. I don't color much." She hoped that Ayame wouldn't ask about the daggers since she couldn't really explain...well, anything about them.
Looking to get the subject even further away from her odd hobby she looked again at the girl's wings. "I bet you'll be able to fly one day. I think that would be fun, flying and all. Much better then controlling water."
