How far along in your pregnancy were you when you first felt your baby move? I'm in my second trimester and I can't wait to feel the baby...
Any funny stories? lol My dog likes to flop onto my belly while I'm lying in bed so I give her a belly rub. She puts all her weight there so I can't ignore her and sometimes it's really uncomfy. sweatdrop I can't wait till the baby kicks and freaks her out, lol revenge will be sweet!

I was in my second trimester but I can't remember what week, sorry. But once I started feeling him move he drove me buggy every single day. He was active inside the womb and now he's active outside of it.

The worst wasn't the random kicking and flailing however. It was the very regular bumping against my pelvic bone that would occur at least five times a week. Bump. Bump. Bump. I later figured out that he was having bouts of hiccups! Drove me crazy trying to figure out what he was doing! rolleyes

I think I felt the first movement some time during the fourth month. There aren't any really funny stories about it... but it does get to be pretty amazing to watch the further along you get.

First pregnancy you usually won't feel movement until the 20-24 week range; with future pregnancies you *might* as early as 14 weeks.

With my first, it was the late part of the 16th week. But I've always been hyper aware of my body and what's going on with it.

I had a cat at the time that hated to sit on my lap. But late second trimester, going into third, she loved to perch on my belly and knead biscuits on the baby while he tried to kick her off. The harder he kicked, the happier she was. lol

With my first pregnancy... I think I was 18 weeks along and with this one, it was sometime during the 14th week.

I was about 15 weeks and I remember I was actually on Gaia, reading some things in some of the guilds I'm in. Anywho, I wasn't exactly sure what it actually was, but when it happened again and I asked my mother, she told me it was the baby. The only funny thing I can think of is how when I had first begun to feel his movements, my sister wanted to feel them too. No matter how hard she tried though she couldn't because it was as though he was playing a game with her. Everytime she would put her hand in one spot he would kick in another.it took her about a month before she finally felt the baby's kicks.

This is probably going to sound like a really stupid question, but how do you know if it's the child moving and not just a tummy rumble or gas or somesuch? I've felt a number of odd feelings, but nothing that I'd put down to being my child moving. (Kind of wish it was more like a solid kick to my insides, just to let me know he's alright. xd )

Oh it will be awhile before that. XD A lot of women do mistake first movements as gas bubbles. I thought it felt like what it would be like to have a worm living in me.

It's pretty hard to tell for a while. The best I can say is that at some point you "just know."

Technically it is a parasite of sorts. I'm infested! I'm just worried because I had an awful dream last night where I got to see my own womb. It was just an empty bubble of liquid with no child inside. Rather scared me. gonk

I would say around twenty weeks...right now the baby is to small to make any noticable movements..

although sometimes you can feel her/him move ...without noticable movements around the fifteenth or sixteenth week..

Oof! That must be so frightening sad

I've heard of that, though. Your hormones are going crazy so you start dreaming more vividly. Just to make things worse, this comes at a time when you have such an important little thing to worry and fuss over. Since you tend to dream about what's on your mind, that can lead to some really scary dreams.

Just try to remember that it's just a dream. It's just a combination of hormones and worrying about your baby's wellfare. I'm sure you're doing fine smile

I know how you feel, though. I get dreams every once and I while where I am pregnant and something goes horribly wrong like having a miscarriage. Or I will dream that I have a baby and he's sleeping and when I go to check on him, I find that he's died. It's just the things I worry about coming through into my dreams.

And a worm living inside you? Did you have to say that? Eeew, so many nasty images now! You've just given me a whole week's worth of nightmares right there!

I've heard a common time to feel movement is 16 weeks. With my first I'm sure I felt her around then, and she was very active the entire pregnancy, but with this second one, it's actually less active! I didn't feel definite regular movements until 19 weeks, and the weeks prior to that were pretty nerve-wracking because I'd think I'd feel a kick, and then nothing for another day or two, and it worried me. I read a LOT of other women with the same worries around the same time though, so I think that's common!

Hubby couldn't feel this one move on the outside until about 23 weeks, and my daughter still hasn't felt it. This one kicks LOW and down, so most of the time nothing can be felt on the outside!

I was 17 weeks with my current pregnancy when I first felt him move. I think I was 20 weeks with my first.

With both, they know when my husband touches my belly. My oldest Raelin used to be utterly still when he put his hand on my belly, but the moment his lips came anywhere near my belly for a kiss, she kicked him hard in the mouth! Every time!! It never fails! Logan just gets very still when my husband touches my belly. He does kick a lot when I have my belly up against my husband's back though... ^-^

Also, I get some of the most indignant looks from my cats when they get kicked, like the unborn child should know that the house cats are meant to be worshipped; they are not play things... (my cats missed the memo ^-^)

Oh goodness. I dont remember how far along I was. I think it was somewhere around the 4th-5th month that I could feel him moving around inside, but I couldnt actually feel him with my hand from the outside untill the 7th month I think and at that point, it was crazy lol. I am a bigger gal so it might have taken longer for me. When my mom was pregnant with my sister (her 5th and final child) I remember feeling her move in there when she was like 4 months along. Everyone is different really.

Dont worry about it too much. Some babies arent very active and some never stop moving. If it really bothers you then I would ask the doctor since they would know more of a timeline on the norm for these things. Congratulations and good luck when the baby is born!
