My role model right now is Rachel Carson, because of the way she revolutionized the way we thought about chemical pesticides like DDT (Dichloro-Diphenyl-Trichloroethane).

John Muir all the way.
Makes me want to just leave right in the middle of 1st period and just go around, seeing all the cool naturey stuff.
Unfortunately, this was back in the 19th century, America wasn't as developed back then, there was actually something worth seeing.
Now, it's no fun with all this damn pavement everywhere.

Steve Irwin and Timothy Treadwell, Both wildlife preservationists died doing something they loved to save and protect animals

RIP, Steve Irwin. heart
While I definately look up to Rachel Carson for her bravery and determination in introducing the whole environmentalism idea, I think Henry David Thoreau and Steve Irwin of course are also great role models. HDT went out to live in nature for a few years in order to truly experience it, and Steve Irwin doesn't need any explanation at all. mrgreen
Plus HDT spoke up for black rights and didn't pay his taxes (and was kept in jail for it until someone bailed him out) because he didn't want to support a government that tolerated slavery. smile
