I love Harvest Moon but I get bored because I always know what I'm gonna do every day I think they should add more festivals, random events, and characters.

It can be too predictable. Like, you know its going to be addicting, if you played it before!! xd But, there are time where it isn't.

That's why I go through gaming loops, where I'll play Harvest Moon for a long while, and then I'll fall away for a long while, and then I'll pick it up out of nowhere and start the cycle over again, lol.
The earlier games are very predictable; for example, in BtN I can unlock all the Black Heart Events for all the girls except Mary in the first day without FAIL. xd I can also unlock at least 2 or 3 of the rival events. xd And the only reason I can't unlock Mary's is because the first day is a Monday, and her Library, where the event needs to take place, is closed on that day, lol. Everytime I play a file on that one, I can do that. Talk about predictable, huh? xd

It's good to take breaks, I kinda do what Harvest Moon Man StH does. I wish they'd keep a lot of the festivals they had in HM64 for the newer games, I liked every single one of them. 3nodding

Harvest Moon can be predictable if you play it for a long time without stopping- but if you go back to it it's better. 3nodding I haven't played HM64 in years but after going back to it, some of the things were new, even though I remembered some of the stuff- I was unable to unlock new things. The newer Harvest Moon games are getting less predictable, too...

In a way, I think they're too predictable. I do definitely get tired of the whole "go out, brush your cows, water your plants" routine, but when I do, I put the game down for a while and play something else. I'm also liking Rune Factory a lot because there's something to do other than farm.
The only game I actually completely finished was HM 64, though I've played most of them, so you can see how I lose interest after a while. sad

I know what you mean. One of the reason wrong (or right, depending from which viewpoint you're looking at) with HM series is its predictability. I agree with the fact there needs to be more variety of random events and chaos.
The reason I like RF is its RPG twist because you actually have monsters to fight with weapons and whatnot. Though I did not like the fact there's a machine that can spawn unlimited amount of the, even if they are easy to defeat, still... there needs to be a chaos factor to it. =P Otherwise, even fighting against monsters will get boring. >.>
