A lot of the music we play in band (8th grade) was written by him. Here are some of the pieces that I have in my folder now
Blue Ridge Saga Gallant Marines
He is a very popular composer. Does anyone else have pieces that he has written?

emblem of unity. its cool, but we're not taking it to competition.
edit: erg, looked again and its called coast guard. we're taking that to competition. if i had the class i could hear wat it might sound like, but right now i have no idea.
edit: now that i've heard and played it, it is very nauseating...

Right now we're playing All Glory Told, it's a group one peice for contest. It's not all that hard, just annoying after playing it for soooooooooooo many times. It's got a nice tune, and our band plays it very well. Yup, 8th grade band is playing group one! ^_^

ugh i HATE swearingen. all of his stuff sounds the same. talk2hand we sight read something he arranged today at festival, sight read celebration for winds and percussion earlier this year, played covington square my freshman year, and played freedom's march in 7th grade.
last year for festival we played emblem of unity, though. i liked that march.

I've played way to many songs by him. He even came to our school once to direct for us. His music is ok, but the dynamics changes make me unhappy.

Most of his stuff sounds very alike, but I will admit that I have listened to and played "Blue Ridge Saga" many, many times. :)
