((Peter Valleck, Veiled Chameleon, 50%, obvious but mostly non-functional traits, 1 week after the change))
[Location: Jungle, not too far from the waterfall/river leading to the cliff]
Well, that was interesting. While it had sometimes rained since he got to this tiny rock, he'd never actually seen rain hitting the ocean before. The waterfall back there sure topped the experience. Weaving his way through the vines and ferns, he couldn't help but look around in amazement at the life around him. Even with the rain, birds were singing and the insects crawled. It's not that different from Quebec, really, Peter thought, 'sides, who gets to walk through rainforests and see animals like these back home? Peter didn't really think of this place as home, though it was far from the internment camp some made it out to be. Get passed the changes, and it was a long-term vacation. And, it turned out, one that Peter had needed.
Putting another modified foot in front of another, he slowly maneuvered back to his duplex through the trees.

((Nicky Giovanni, Cerberus non-morphic (Doberman body/head crocodile tail) 100%, over a month after last change))
Nicky's right head leaned down to sniff the scent of some deer that passed by here recently while the left one had its tongue lolling out and panting. The middle head, however, the one that haused the vast majority of the human intellect, spread its calculating gaze out over the jungle in front of him. He wanted something live for dinner tonight...
The left head started to whine as dropplets of rain splattered on its head. A quick growl and n** from the middle head silenced this.
All three pairs of ears perked up as a new scent hit them...an islander...humanish...possibly part reptile...A strange grin broke out over the middle one while the other two tried to match it but failed. The monstrous figure began padding quietly toward the scent...

[Noah, Common House Mouse, 50%]
He had to get out of that duplex. That was all the mouse man knew.
This morning...this morning he had gotten up feeling ill and achy. He was quite content for awhile with laying curled in the center of the nest atop his bed that he had made from torn blankets, but the stubborn sickness and pains made him restless.
He had gotten up and paced, sat back down and groomed his tail and fur patches, but nothing seemed to make him feel better. So he paced some more, before he got a sinking feeling.
This illness, this pain...it was familiar. He remember...he had always felt miserable like this right before a change. He had stood frozen in front of the full-length mirror he had requested from the labs-- back when he was a human that is-- and stared at his reflection. Worse? He was going to get worse than this?
Rage tightened his gut and he lunged at the mirror, banging on his with his fists. It wasn't fair. He couldn't be changing again! Not now...not again! He swung his fist as his reflection, at the monster in the glass. He accomplished two things with this action: one, he busted the mirror and two, he hurt his hand pretty bad.
Yes, the face of the mirror had shattered upon contact, crystalline shards lodging themselves in his hand. He jerked his forepaw back quickly, crushing the impulsive stupidity. He dropped to his knees, crunching a few fallen pieces of glass into the carpet. He held onto his hand, gritting his large front teeth together as his hand throbbed painfully. He sat there, body aching, stomach turning and hand bleeding...quite a bit, and began to weep. He sobbed miserably at the facsimilie of a shame his life had become.
He staggered upright, stumbling gingerly stepping around the broken glass. THAT was when the urge to get away...to get the hell out of his duplex hit him. he had to get out. He HAD to. He had to get out of this dreaded rat-- no, scratch that-- mouse hole and get help. Help for his paw, help for his body...help in general.
He threw on a shoddily-made cloak that appeared to have been crafted from an old sheet over his shoulders and bolted, not bothering to put anything on his feet. It wasn't like his old shoes fit his now-larger rodent feet anymore anyways.
He had bounded outside, only to find it was rainy pretty steadily out. But as his stood on his doorstep, he realized he didn't want anyone to see him. See him looking like a monster. Screw his hand-- which still hurt quite a bit, and was still bleeding all over his cloak and shirt-- he couldn't be seen like this! He looked around frantically, completely ignoring the fact that no sane person would be out in a rainstorm, and bolted off towards the jungle.
He just had to get away.
He blundered around the jungle for awhile in a blind panic, stopping only to lean against the tree for a moment. He panted and heaved, his head spinning and feeling much like someone had slammed a railroad spike through the back of his skull. He leaned over and vomited quite forcefully from a combination of pain, stress, panic, and general sickness, clinging to the tree for support.
He let go and stumbled to the side, blundering through some undergrowth before he slumped against another nearby tree. He sat there for some time, knees drawn up to his chest, hood pulled up over his face.
He was utterly lost in the jungle-- why did he think running into the jungle was a smart idea? It had seemed like a good plan-- the undergrowth would provide protection, after all. But predators lived out here! Poisonous creatures probably lived out here! And his paw...he needed help for his paw, and running into the jungle wouldn't solve that!
He sat hunched over, cursing his stupidity and nursing his wounded paw. He had to get back, had to get out of here. On the bright side, his stomach ache had gone, and the bodily aches and pains had ebbed away as well. Perhaps it was merely something he ate, not an upcoming change. He knew that some foods he used to eat as a human could make mice sick, so perhaps...perhaps he ate something he shouldn't have. He'd have to be careful in the future so as not to cause unnecessary panic to himself again.
He took a few deep breath, the headache still pounding at his skull. Hopefully that would fade in time too. He squirmed back against the tree more and curled up and little tighter, tail wrapping around his legs. Everything out here looked so similar...oh, getting back was going to be fun...

[Marty Karrell, Thorny Devil, 100%]
"I'm singing in the rain! Just singing in the rain! What a glorious feeling, I happy again!"
Marty sang and danced as he made his way through the jungle. He always loved it at times like this. The sound, the smell. It was almost intoxicating. Midway through a jump, he triped on a vine and fell. He then had the wonderous fortune of having he face stuck halfway in the mud while one of his horns was firmly stuck in a tree trunk.
"Oh, great not this again."
His pleasent demeanor quickly left as he cursed the tree and the vine and the mud for being in the worng place at the wrong time. He cursed the rain for making him want to come out. He cursed everything he could think of before dropping down in defeat and just sitting there for a while. He then noticed that his nose wasn't under the mud and he could still breathe. Despite the fact that he had already been breathing, he hadn't really taken any notice. Now realizing that he wasn't in any immediate danger of drowning in a puddle, he activated chilax-er-ization and resumed singing.
