Barton Hospital A box-shaped building that stands out against the quaint cityscape of Barton, it's Gaia's most state-of-the-art hospital. At least, it's the most state-of-the-art hospital in terms of technology; the hospital makes little use of healing magics, and does not even have a department devoted to clerical healing. For all of the hospital's advancement, it's largely ineffective, probably because it only has five ambulances, running with nothing more than a combustion engine, incapable of achieving flight or speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. They sit in the parking lot, near the emergency room.

CRASH
BOOM
SMASH MEOW
"OHMYGOD! gonk "
SSSSSHHHHRRRREEEEEIIIKKKK. "MY GRANDSON! JIMMY, NOOOOOOO!"
EXPLOSIONNOISEHERE
SMASH. And Tweak, Athan, and Angel finally came to a stop with the go-cart hanging half out a full panel, floor to ceiling, glass window on the whole other end of the hospital from where they had entered. They were closest to the Red Light district.
Left in their wake was a scene of destruction too horrible to go into details on. Someone had managed to pull the fire alarm, people were being evacuated, doctors were rushing to get people on stretchers, it was a horrible tragedy.
"...Oh ********, let's get the ******** out of here before the cops come." Go Tweak, go!

As the alarm was pulled, fire sounded. More explosions. Probably had nothing to do with Tweak's crash. But there were explosions nonetheless. Screams, OMG!s, even a few "Kill it with swords!" came through the crowd. The evacuees were walking right into a death trap. There, someone was standing on an ambulance. Tall, dressed in black, large, blue feathered wings, and he was tossing grenades, one after another, at the fleeing people as they left the hospital, racking up deaths one after another. And he was laughing, even as it seemed he was running out of grenades. Laughing. It wasn't even a typical laugh. No, more it was like this.

Angel stumbled out of the cart, pointing a finger at Tweak. "I'm driving next time!" He'd nearly killed them, not once or twice, but a LOT. But she wasn't going to disagree with him, cops probably were about to come. She wondered how she ended up here. She was always a model citizen.
A loud explosion came and it wasn't from them. She dove to the side, covering her head. "Tweak! What the hell did you do?!" Maybe he hit a gas line that was her best guess.

"Like hell you are! This was the sweetest ride ever!" scream
He had been too busy trying to keep them alive that he had not acknowledged all the destruction back there. Not like he could really do much in way of see'ing it anyway at the speed they were traveling.
"It's not me! I din'na touch anything!"
This was said as he vaulted from the Gocart and looked around. At least until he got a real good earfull of that laugh and was all like, "WTF is this?" Especially when an explosion happened without him being in the driver's seat.
We can all assume that Athan, shell-shocked as he might be, just kind of let go of the cart.
(OOC: He will be so pissed he missed this. rofl )

((Go carts, Kefka laughs, and grenades... man, i wouldn't want to have to tell him what all he missed...))
The man's wings spread out, and beated quickly as he jumped up off the ambluance, and started to take wing. It was a slow, wobbly climb at first. Obviously he wasn't an awesome, Flare Class, flyer. But he had what appeared to be a still full belt of grenades slung over his shoulders. And two bandoliers that contained only the gods know what...
Most hte evacuees had gotten away, or were dead by now, broken and blown up.
His laugh continued on, as he pulled two more grenades free, tossing them towards the two specks on the earth he saw, still alive. Tweak and Angel.
The grenades, real simple. They'd go off about two seconds after they hit the ground near them. Timer based. And went they go off, the usual ball of fire, pieces of twisted metal, etc.
The man, meanwhile, was winging east, towards the Red Light District.

The laugh drew Angel's attention. It was giving her a headache. She was about to draw bow and arrow and shoot the bird between the eyes.
"You're getting us killed!"
She yelled this to Tweak, but her eyes were still trained on the bird-man. His wings casted a shadow over their figures as he flew upwards.
Her ears twitched as she heard him pull the pins from the grenades. Before the grenades even hit ground, her hand came up, almost like she was planning on catching one of them, but she brought a shield of light around her and the two men with her, Tweak and Athan.
((I'd be pissed to miss this much. xD ))

"What the ******** is that thi-"
Angel was casting a shield when the bird man threw grenades at them.
Tweak just hit the ground hard, rolled off to the side as fast he could until he hit wall, and covered his head. Kind of like the tornado guard position, except way more loose. Figured it would protect his face and all that good stuff. If not he was ******** anyway.
He did not look up until he explosion based one way or another.
Somewhere in the midst of this his navel area started feeling weird, but this was no time for that.

The grenades bounced twice on the shields, finally rolling down them, and blowing up halfway through their descent. The shield caught the majority of the blast, perhaps all of it, depending on how much Angel put in it.
But it bought time. While they were turtling up, he was winging off, going into the Red Light District.... arrow

The grenades went off and the shield wavered. This wasn't because Angel had not put enough in the shield, but her shoulder was glowing brightly and she felt the power in the marble begin to waive, leaving her feeling confused and wondering if she should try switching marbles.
As the blast died down from the two grenades she dropped the shield. "Let's get that whore." She stood, not offering a hand to the two. It wasn't like they'd done any work.
She took off running in the direction of the winged being.

"Someone is getting rather pissed off with this whole thing."
And so Tweak set off after Angel with one final fairwell to the Go-cart. A shame they could not salvage it from the window or anything like that.
They abondened the crime scene just as the police pulled up on the other side of the hospital. Chances are the trio just jumped out the go-cart's broken window and ran for it, counting the flyer probably escaped that way too.

Rolling into the street outside the hospital, Brody looked around trying to figure out what the heel was going on. Deciding that it was better he didn't stick around to find out, he started off north.

Enter Athan, dragging Tweak and Angel behind him as they came back to the Barton Hospital. Why back to the Hospital? Well, the answer was because Athan had pretty much just randomly been picking directions and heading there the entire time.
Things were much easier with Athan in charge. Nobody had to walk, nobody had to say anything...just go along with the flow.
In this case, the flow ended up at a spot that seemed almost all too familiar in the form of Barton Hospital.
"Man, did you know this place takes reservations?"
He stopped to look at the building, then back to his teammates.
"'Cause I've left a few in my day. Had an IV with my blood type set up and everything."

"I didn't know that.." Angel had never been to Barton Hospital, except for their small encounter here earlier, but she was sure that didn't count. She walked over to where the go-cart still sat. The window had still not been taken care of. As she stepped towards the window she heard some music playing. "This place is creepy. That's all I know. You think this go-cart still works?" It did take a pretty good beating from their drive yesterday, but it could come handy, especially since the Dasher marble seemed to stop working.
