With electric cars that can outrun the Shikansen, lifelike robots, and 3 dimensional cameras, among other things, Japan is known as the world's tech pace setter. And it's known that most of world looks to it, for anything innovative, or cool. What I want to know is, what are your thoughts on Japanese tech? And would you have a favored piece of technology?

O_O Thats sounds so cool! Is it me or has Japan always had a bit of obsession with technology in particular with robots...? Just curious.

I think that my favorite would be the 3D camera. being able to show objects in 3D from a distance would be so cool!

Really the only thing I'd say they like doing technologically are gadgets and maybe home appliances. Most of the Japanese people I knew there knew less about computers than I do, and thats not very much, but give me a Japanese cell phone any day!

I remember when I was there I saw a "future tech" car that would run on either hydrogen or water, I can't remember which, but it looked so cool! heart I think almost all of the gadgetry that comes out of Japan is just amazing. Makes you wonder what they'll come up with next.

They little bots have been around since ancient times, and some of them were so attached to them that when they broke, they did not toss it. They buried it. Seriously.

I saw on the tv once, in a University in Japan (can't remember which, sorry sweatdrop ) they were making a female robot that could be able to work in the office, move around, and talk more like a human would. It was pretty cool. I can't wait to see what they come out with next! ^^

Nah, they could probably get jobs making the robots wink No cause they'll have robots making robots.
I don't think it will happen though, because only humans can think rationally and we don't understnad how.

That's true and it is kinda scary.... sweatdrop I just thought it was amazing, making something that complex.
