I know! It's so cool *drools...not on the artifacts though eek * Alas that I live in OK! I would have gone to the one in Chicago last summer but a family emergency came up crying (Which is more important than Tut...I guess...but it didn't really involve me and no one wanted me to interfere *twitch*) But I went to OKC to see the Temples and Tombs exhibit to soothe my ruffled feathers. 3nodding blaugh

Heck yeah! My parents are already organizing a family trip to go see it. King Tut is one of the coolest mummies ever! Howard Carter was pretty darn amazing as well for finding Tut's tomb. heart I can't wait to see him

When the exhibit came to my area there was an organized trip with our own local Egyptian museum- everyone would gather there, and throughout the 6-8 hour long bus ride the curator would deliver lectures on the time period and Egyptian culture. Then, at the exhibit we would meet with the curator of that museum for a special tour. The group stayed overnight at a local hotel before the long trip back.
It was a great idea- I wish that I could have gone. sad At least there are some nice pictures on the exhibit's website!

I live a bit of a distance away from Philadelphia, but I have been saving little bits of my money over the last two years in order to have the chance to go. Perhaps I still might be able to.

I'm going this summer and I can't wait to go. I've been excited for this all year and unfortunately I can't go during this month because of school.

To my knowledge. . . They can't move Tut's actual mummy from its current resting place because it had gotten damaged (or something like that, I don't totally remember) on a previous voyage and they want to preserve it as well as they can.
And, yeah, I went to that exhibit a couple of years ago in Ft. Lauderdale (I didn't appreciate it as much as I should have. crying ) and it was really cool. Especially the sarcophagi they had there. <333 And the souvenirs. But they were like A BAJILLION dollars. And now I'm making myself feel bad for hardly ever wearing the cartouche and the scarab necklaces my mom bought for me. And I'm using the word 'and' too much.

Maybe to give people a chance, who otherwise wouldn't get the opportunity, to see something like this? I mean, not everyone will be able to afford a trip to Egypt.
