This is by far one of the most beautiful forests I have ever seen in my life! I feel so much passion when I see this forest and its inhabitants. The forest has many rainbows and at the end there was once gold. Not the kind we find value for in our pockets but the amphibious kind. Once living in the cool ponds were the Golden Toads. From this forest 20 from 50 species of amphibians is now thought to be extinct. Dedicated scientists that scavenge the pools for the frogs and have not seen any in years. There are many theories on there extinction. But the most obvious to scientists, is global climate change. Because of connections to other problems in the forest they strongly believe this to be the route cause.
Among many beautiful birds in Cloud Forest there is a Quetzal Bird. I was fascinated with their long tails and Mohawk style head feathers. The moist climate that is now warming, is inviting many other birds to the area. This means competition for food and nesting areas for these birds.

I know that many animals have gone extinct from climate change etc. I just find it is unfortunate that human’s careless actions are the engine to this issue.
