Astrocide
Hm well I'm a Cancer and I dated a Scorpio for about two years, and I must say that kind of relationship can either be perfect or destructive for both parties, depending on what happens. There were major trust issues and sadly it ended up getting to the point where I can't even talk to him without being upset. sweatdrop
I still love him, and probably will forever.(And it's funny, most of my best friends are Scorpios with the exception of a Capricorn)
But I'm happy dating a good Virgo man right now. I needed the casualness of it, but the relationship is still sweet and loving and he makes me extremely happy. biggrin I knew I would probably mix better with an Earth sign.
Anyway, do you use astrology in your relationships? Any experiences that astrology was right on the money with? Any surprises, was astrology incorrect? Any interesting experiences at all? It's true that people are beginning to notice certain "chemistry" between signs... And just sun sign alone doesn't really tell much about how you can best get along with someone else. You should do a Synastry chart - it's a compatibility comparison of your chart and the chart of your partner.
People think the obvious indications are in where your Mars and Venus are in your chart... But to delve into relationship readings, you need to know your entire chart... Including the Asteroids Goddesses Juno, Vesta, Ceres, Pallas Athene and good old Soul Mates: Eros and Psyche.
The Lovers
Eros: Capacity for vitality and passion
Psyche: Capacity to be psychically sensitive to another person
Eros represents the principle of passionate desire.
In chart analysis Eros serves as indicator of your passion, sexual attraction, sexual preferences and vital energy. Your Eros personality is marked by the need to continuously recrete the excitement of falling in love and being in love. Stressful placements of Eros in the chart may describe potential difficulties in sexual potency, and activity, frustrated passion, depletion of vital force, or obsessive-compulsive attitudes towards love until the person learns to channel the passion positively.
Eros can shed some light on some of our erotic turn-ons. In mythology, Eros was the god of sexual love and desire. He was considered irresistible. In Roman mythology, Eros was known as Cupid. "In Greek art Eros was depicted as a winged youth, slight but beautiful, often with eyes covered to symbolize the blindness of love. Sometimes he carried a flower, but more commonly the silver bow and arrows, with which he shot darts of desire into the bosoms of gods and men." (Encarta Encyclopedia)
Eros overpowers the mind with love and sex. Eros represents sexual objectification, passion and desire, and creativity. By studying the placements of Eros by sign, we can better integrate the diverse needs and drives of this body. In an archetypal sense, the signs have a distinct way of relating to both inner and outer experiences and acknowledging those distinctions is a step towards becoming more complete.
Psyche
Psyche represents the principle of being psychically attuned and bonded to another human being. Astrologically, Psyche is the higher octave of Venus, expressing a refinement of personal love and psychically attuned to another.
Through following the path of Psyche, conscious relationship provides a path to spiritual illumination. Psyche's challenges depict the Soul's journey from mortality to divinity, Psyche successfully transformed her earthly nature into that of a deity so that she can be with Eros. Together, Eros and Psyche symbolize Soul-mate union.
In Chart analysis, a prominent Psyche symbolizes the capacity for psychic sensitivity to the mind and feelings of another person. This heightened awareness can produce a yearning for mystic, soul-mate union. Stressful placements of Psyche can indicate a total lack of sensitivity to others, a blocked psychic awareness or the inability to enter personal relationships.
Because of their need for deep, intuitive communication, Psyche individuals may often decline to enter into superficial or short-term relationships. Thus they may have many admirers, but remain essentially alone.
In short, Your Eros tells you what you consider sensual and erotic, what arouses you and what makes you feel alive.
And Psyche is like your secret heart, representing what you kind of hide from the rest of the world, but secretly hope to find. Sometimes things people do hurt you, but they don't know why... and sometimes you don't know why...
Say for instance your Psyche is in Scorpio, then it means you possess a very deep empathy, you long for a connection that is deep, and in your mind... true love. No one can really lie to you, your intuition would be too strong. And when they try to hide things from you, you have a sixth sense that makes that virtually impossible. And you long for someone who would love you enough to be able to find you, despite of all the mysteries you have enshrouded yourself in.
... Well, I still think that if you really want to know the synastry between you and your partner, you should try to go deeper than just sun signs.
Sincerely,
Yuki
