 :About Me:
Not quite sure what to say here... but since I'm sure ALL of you are just dying to find out more about me, I'll whip a little something up. ;D
I'm a sophomore at Oberlin College -gaspsoold- and I'm currently looking to become a veternarian. I play soccer for my college team and I also recently joined the Equestrian Team, which I am very excited about. Except for the paying money for lessons part. XD!
Hmm. I'm in my second year here at Gaia and I've been into breedables since around Easter of last year, so nearly six months. If you're interested to see what pets I have, you can check my signature OR you can go to my journal. But that list needs to be updated. >> *cough*
I've completed one quest in my time here, but to be honest it wasn't so much completed as commissioned. XD! But I was halfway done when the commission spots opened, so I suppose that has to count for something. 8] I've been questing for Samedi here for about four months without much progress (Beyond donation letters I bought and gold I earned through posting). 8D;;

Powers:
Samedi has the ability to raise the dead from their resting places, whether as new dead corpses or skeletons long buried in the earth. It is mostly magic that allows movement, and the older the corpse the more effort it requires for him to hold them together and functional. However, newly-fallen corpses can be brought back without nearly as much energy.
In times of need these powers can also extend to the living. A living being who cannot exact revenge on his own, for instance, (due to being near death, or incapacitated), can call on Samedi for assistance. There will be a price though, and it may be one the caller is not willing to pay.
Samedi also has the power to make dead things take on the appearance of life. A withered flower will appear to come alive, or a corpse will appear to breathe. This is a simply task for the god and he can do it as easily as he walks.
Finally, Samedi cannot kill. He can injure and maim, but all wound inflicted never add up to something fatal - and this is not a self-imposed rule. Rather, no matter how hard he tries, how hard a his blow falls, something thwarts his efforts.
In the same way, he cannot be killed. He can die, certainly, but unlike other gods who may be reborn in a newer body, he will continue on in his own old form. His magic holds his own body together as much as it holds his victim's bodies together.
:Appearance:
:Body Color and Shape:
Samedi's fur is a grayish-green color associated with death and decay. His stomach is a slightly lighter shade of the same color. The blending of the two is jagged and uneaven. He appears ragged and unkempt, and his body (naturally lean ) seems slightly emaciated. Ribs are slightly visible beneath the fur.
:Mane and Tail Tuft:
These are both matted and wild looking. Coloring should be a deep dark maroon, nearly black; the same shade as old dried blood.
:Legs, Ears, and Tail:
Each of these extremeties should be increasing shades of maroon - from a bright reddish color the same as Samedi's right eye all the way to a deep dark maroon the color of Samedi's mane and tail tuft. The brightest top coat of red should be splattered onto the green of his body, as though he stepped in blood. The overall affect should be of increasingly dark layers of blood. The tail should also appear to have been dipped repeatedly in blood, much like the legs.
:Eyes:
The right eye is a shade of milky blue that almost appears white. It looks blind, and for the most part Samedi might pretend it is. However, he can see perfectly well out of it. The left eye is a bright red.
:Mask:
Samedi has a bone mask, the top half of a skull from an African Gazelle. The bones are bleached white-yellow from exposure to the elements, and as stated earlier the bottom jaw is missing. The skull has attached horns, also bleached to the same shade of yellow-white, that extend up and back. They twist as well, looking much like the horns on these gazelle.
:Chains:
Samedi's body is draped/wrapped with chains that do NOT impede his movement. They were once a pure silver/steel color, and have since faded to a rusty red-orange shade in most places. The chain loops around his neck like a necklace and a padlock hangs from it like a pendant. The keyhole for the padlock is in the shape of an Ankh. It often seems to glow white-red (like an object heated near melting) when he uses his powers to an extreme extent.
:Wings:
His wings are the wings of a bat. They should be a deep maroon color, like the deepest shade on his feet and mane (Not black, but close). Wing bones should be showing through in many places and the wings themselves will be full of holes and tears. The edges should be ragged. He can't fly since he is doomed, as it were, to walk the earth in limbo.

Only one spot on his face is missing skin. There are four slashes that show across his left cheek, as though he were attacked. On his sides it is missing a bit here and there, mostly along his ribcage. There are no flaps of skin, but you can see muscle and possibly bone where the wounds are deepest. The "holes" should look like wounds, too, as though he'd died in a huge fight and still bore the mortal injuries.
razz ersonality:
Cold, callous, and cruel, Samedi doesn't seem to care for anyone, and as far as he is concerned, that's the only way to live. While he might not go out of his way to make certain that others are miserable, he doesn't try to ease their misery either. When he's upset or irritated he withdraws and becomes quiet and snappy. At this time he is the most dangerous; unpredictable at the best times, when he's angry he is liable to take any measures.
When he's pleased or even -gasp- happy, he never really shows it. Rather, he smiled more (crookedly though, almost a smirk or sneer) and is sarcastic to no end. At times it can be hard to tell whether he is joking or serious. Because of this, others may take offense. He offers his services - for a price - to those who desire to speak with their dead. However, the summoned spirit is not always the correct one, and Samedi does not feel it is his duty to inform the customer. In fact, he finds it amusing.
He appreciates the horror of death, having gone through it once already, and understands better than most the grief that such a parting can evoke. He does appreciate beauty, and can even be made to feel it, but he cannot replicate it beyond restoration, and even that does not last long. He cannot fly, a fact that rankles him. His wings are of bone, as he was condemned to walk the earth.
His loved ones are gone, and he mourns them but rarely lets on. Overall, he is dark and gloomy, prefering his own company -or the company of the dead- to that of the living. He is known to sit alone and conjure up the spirits, or just the images, of a few he knew a long time ago. Whether out of hate or love, it isn't known. Samedi seems beyond the ability to love, or accept love.
