Today marks the anniversary of Roe Vrs. Wade. Since then, thousands of helpless human beings were murdered before they had a change at life.

Pro Choice~ Women have a right to chose what to do to their body.

Pro Life~ Life should have a chance. Only when both lives are in danger should abortions be legal.

Your "notice" is not very necessary, just for the record. A simple definition for Pro-life and Pro-choice is all that's necessary, not your personal opinion about what Pro-choice is. It's quite obvious you're pro-life.

Before anyone says anything else, this needs to be read and understood by everyone posting in the thread, whether they be pro-life or pro-choice.

And before this thread goes any further, this is the warning for the thread. It's the same one as from the abortion discussion thread (sex subforum), but slightly modified. Failure to comply with this warning will result in a warning and/or being banned.

WARNING: This thread is a trial thread. I will delete it if people start flaming others, if there's rudeness or abuse, etc. This thread is meant for the discussion of abortion. If this topic bothers you, or if you feel strongly against it, LEAVE NOW.

Statements like "abortion is murder" and "don't kill your child, it's the loss of an innocent life" WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. They will earn you a warning, and if it happens again you'll be banned from the guild. I do not want people getting offended because other people can't be tactful with what they say. If you are pro/anti-abortion, then explain why. Don't just say "you're killing an innocent life" and leave it at that, because that is rude and hurtful, and you're not explaining your side of the debate.

There, that being said I think a lot of people are going to come down hard on you. Depending on who you're talking to, abortion is not "murdering helpless beings before they had a chance at life."

I'm pro-choice and proud of it. When it comes to myself, I tend to lean a little towards pro-life, but that's because it's my body and I know what I'm comfortable with. I would not be ok with getting an abortion unless it was medically necessary.

However just because I don't want an abortion for myself does not mean that it should be made illegal, or that other people shouldn't have the right to choose for themselves.

What about women who get raped, suffer abuse or incest, and get pregnant as a result of that? Should they have to bear a child they may or may not want?

Some people view an zygote or an embryo as a cluster of cells, something that doesn't resemble a human and doesn't have the features of a human (organs, brain, limbs, etc) and thus doesn't have the rights of a normal human being. And many women feel that their own rights, that their own body takes priority over a bundle of cells that doesn't qualify as a human being until a certain point in the pregnancy.

I am 100% Pro-Choice.
I am proud of it.
If I was to get pregnant by accident. Say, the condom broke, or my body wasn't compatible with the morning after pill. I sure as Heck want the Choice to keep a child or not! I am a virgin, I am not in any way religious. And I am fairly biased on this. My mother didn't have the option to abort legally in her day, and now I have a half sister somewhere in the world and I've never met her. Not having the option to abort and save my mother from years of trauma is completely unfair. If you're given the option to abort, there is no real attachment of birth.
I restate. I am Pro Choice. Feel free to debate.

Yes, I realize that this is one experience. But, this is an example.

I'm very pro-choice, mostly because I've had an abortion. I wasn't a slut, I wasn't sleeping around. I was raped, I was 17(almost 1 cool and I had just graduated from High School. The prospect of raising a child with an abusive father just wasn't in the cards.

I got pregnant again (With a different person, and consensually, obviously) at 19 (almost 20), and while I wasn't necessarily any more equipped to have the child, but I went ahead and had my son. For me, my reasoning was that I wasn't raped this time, and I could give my child at least some kind of a happy life.

In the unlikelihood that I got pregnant in the future, I'd probably have the child unless there was no way to support it, or it wasn't consensually conceived.

But, I don't think women should have the right taken away from them. Yeah, I think too many people see abortion as an easy fix, which, it's not. Even going into it feeling it's what you truly want, it leaves emotional scars. I'll never forget I had an abortion, but I also won't let people make me live in shame for having one.

It's a really hard decision to make, and I hate to see all the guilt people in the media throw at women. Everyone has their own reasons for abortion, and I think that should be respected.

Why am I pro-choice? Because we can't force a woman to take care of her pregnancy. We can't strap her down and pump her full of nutritive foods. And once the baby is born, no one will help her pay for the supplies that she needs to take care of it, and no one can force her to adopt it our or to love it and care for it.

I've seen too many dumpster babies, stuffed in a plastic bag so that no one would know.

I've seen too many people desperately trying to "accidentally" miscarry by throwing themselves down stairs, sticking bleach in their vaginas, and otherwise causing irreparable damage because of the fear of going to the clinic and being called murderers.

And I've seen too many rape victims who are still called "whores" when they go to remove the fetus that was put there against their wills that feels like it's clawing it's way out of her body.

Abortion should ALWAYS be a choice. I think that you would understand that better when you see the women who murder their born children for no other reason than existing, and when you see the women doing drugs and drinking during pregnancy. When you see a parent look into the eyes of their child and say, "I hate you. I never wanted you." what do you think that the child is going to think?

No child should ever be unwanted.

This is why I think that all people should be given comprehensive sex-ed.

And why every woman deserves the right to do with her body as she pleases.

Life, live with the mistakes you make. If you were raped God will help you raise the child he gave you.

Pro-choice. I've never had an abortion and I may not be sure whether I would get one should I end up pregnant, but I would definitely want the woman who is deciding to be able to make the decision whether or not to conceive.

It's true that some women who've had abortions may feel some kind of regret, but there are women who manage to grow past regretting.
