Ok, I've only got a few rules for this journal...
~If you are a Fiend owner, or Reyna, you MAY post here. Otherwise, please PM me for permission. I do not want random stupid posts in my journal. They will be deleted.
~Please, use proper grammar and spelling if you're going to post here. I'm a**l about it, and as an editor, I'm super-picky about grammar and spelling. I don't understand all that talk with numbers that want to be letters and whatnot, so let's just keep it out of here. We're all intelligent, right?
~I'm not particular about you PMing me before posting gifts and such. I like having them in my journals, so you can just post them wherever they fall. Just post them in character please.
~This journal will likely be a place where Labradorite shares her thoughts, and it will also contain RP from the main thread. I like to keep everything in one place, so I can see what's gone on between characters and such. Be aware of this.

Name: Labradorite, Labbie, Bug Gem: Labradorite Age: Child Gender: Female Height: Ghosty! We're not quite sure. Weight: Pretty lightweight. Hair: Her hair shifts colors ever so slightly from bright blue to the darkest purple shadowing. Eyes: Dark turquoise blue Skin: Turquoise, sparkles in the right light Special Features: Shadowy wings, bindi in the center of her forehead, sparkling skin Personality: Child ~ Wisp ~ So far, Labradorite isn't very exciting. I usually keep her in my pocket and she stays quite calm there, not moving around much, or making so much as a peep. Perhaps it's because she's still a wisp... For some time, she liked to wrap her wispy "arms" around my head, planting herself to my forehead. I would have the most odd dreams, and it seemed as if she was causing them. When I would wake up, my head would hurt as if I had a migraine. After a few of these incidences, I was getting concerned. I think it's good that the dreams have stopped now though. I wasn't sure if I could take much more. Likes: Butterflies, the moon, nighttime, shadows, using telepathy, ornate jewelry and clothing, sharp and pointy objects, Elysia, Rhea, fluttering her wings Wisp ~ Fluttering around with her wisps formed into butterfly or other types of insect wings, attaching herself to Elysia's forehead and giving her odd dreams, giving Elysia headaches. Dislikes: Too much chaos, being out of control or upset, not being able to form the words she wants to sometimes, People/things that invade her personal space Child Stage Details from SF Front page Child :: Welcome to mass chaos. I could probably leave the description at that and I think it would sum it up nicely, but I'm partial to detail. By this point the creature has assumed a child-like form. Physically, they have the appearence of about an eight or nine year old child. They still prefer to cling to their guardian, but now they are more likely to wander about and explore things on their own -- just not too far away from their main energy source (YOU). At this time in their life they are the most chaotic and mischievous, so you are no doubt in for a LOT of trouble. Think terrible twos on crack and stereoids. To make matters worse, they can phase through walls and solid objects and have the general appearence of a ghost. What they CAN do: - Blend into darkness to hide and they can phase through solid objects! DOOM. - Break stuff, as they now have ickle little hands and limbs and that sort of thing. - They can actually form feet even though in the art of this stage they usually have tails. Generally, the only time they'd do this is if they were trying to take on a completely solid form which they can only do for a little while at a time. At this stage, they can only hold that form for maybe two hours at a time before phasing back into a transparent form. (Though most Fiends, even grown ones, switch back and forth at random as it is less taxing that way so that two hours could be spread out over an entire day.) - Speak via telepathy! Fiends don't have physical voices since their form is mostly just shadow. - Manipulate darkness. They can create small shadows to play with. Nothing major or huge at this time as this also uses up a lot of energy after a while, and during this time they need that energy to survive. - Even though they like venturing off and the like, they still really can't leave their guardian for too long a time. Physically, it's not comfortable for them to do so because it puts a strain on their bond which could result in, you guessed it, chaos. See the F.A.Q for more info on this. - Some start to develop powers during this stage, but think of it as them having just hit a growth spurt. They can't really control it and it would likely come and go. What they CAN NOT do: - Speak vocally. - Leave their guardian entirely (unless they're with Athan as they are bonded to him, too, but... would you really want to leave your Shadow with a grumpy old man? NO. Well. Maybe because it'd be funny, but NO.) - I can't think of any other restrictions. Yay! Just no super!powerful kids, kay? Or Athan will have to open up a can. Stage Focus: - Having fun torturing people with the chaotic kid of doom. - Developing your child's personality further. - Beginning to think about what their powers could be. - Just as the guardian has gotten used to the intrusion, now what? Since they're now faced with something new and unexpected and even more troublesome. - Have the feelings the guardian picks up from the Shadow changed? - Has their personality changed or differed from what was discovered in the previous stage? - How do they feel about Athan or other Shadows in general?

Stone: LabradoriteChemistry: Ca(50-70%) Na(50-30%) (Al, Si)AlSi2 O8, Calcium sodium aluminum silicateClass: SilicatesSubclass: TectosilicatesGroup: FeldsparsUses: Ornamental and semi-precious stoneDescription: Generally a dull, dark looking mineral with no special virtue until the colorful shiller is observed glowing on the surface. Labradorite can produce a colorful play of light across cleavage planes and in sliced sections called labradorescence. The usually intense colors range from the typical blues and violets through greens, yellows and oranges. Some rare specimens display all these colors simultaneously. The color display is from lamellar intergrowths inside the crystal. These intergrowths result from compatible chemistries at high temperatures becoming incompatible at lower temperatures and thus a separating and layering of these two phases. The resulting color effect is caused by a ray of light entering a layer and being refracted back and forth by deeper layers. This refracted ray is slowed by the extra travel through the layers and mixes with other rays to produce a light ray coming out that has a different wavelength than when it went in. The wavelength could correspond to the wavelength of a particular color, such as blue. The effect depends on the thickness and orientation of the layers. If the layers are too thick or too thin no color shiller is seen. Also if the viewer does not observe from the precise angle or if light is not supplied from the proper angle then no color shiller is seen. The labradorescence is truely a one of a kind mineralogical experience and must be observed in person in order to truely appreciate its beauty.
Labradorite is a member of the plagioclase series of minerals. The plagioclase series comprises felspars that range in chemical composition from pure NaAlSi3 O8 to pure CaAl2 Si2 O8 . Labradorite is defined at approximately the 50% to 70% CaAl2 Si2 O8 . Labradorite by definition must contain 50-70% calcium to 50-30% sodium in the sodium/calcium position of the crystal structure. All members of the plagioclase series usually display lamellar twinning called "Albite Twinning". The twinning is caused by a error in the crystal structure during its growth.Physical Characteristics:Color is gray to smoky black. Luster is dull to vitreous. Transparency crystals are transparent to translucent. Crystal System is triclinic; bar 1 Crystal Habits include blocky crystals that rarely form free of the host rock and therefore do not usually show their full crystal forms. In sliced sections of rock, the labradorite appears as blocky chunks with a predominance of near right angled corners. Twinning is common and pervasive so that in labradorite it produces a layered or stacked effect. The twin layers are typically only fractions of millimeters to several millimeters thick. Crystals of labradorite are found imbedded in gabbros and other mafic igneous rocks of low silica content. In anorthosites, labradorite is a main constituent. Cleavage is perfect in one and good in another direction forming nearly right angled prisms. Fracture is conchoidal. Hardness is 6 - 6.5. Specific Gravity is approximately 2.70 - 2.74 (average) Streak is white. Associated Minerals are biotite, pyroxene and hornblende. Other Characteristics: index of refraction is 1.55 - 1.75. Play of colors called labradorescence seen from certain directions can cause flashes of blue, violet and green and sometimes orange and yellow. Notable Occurrences include Labrador, Canada and Scandinavian Pennisula. Best Field Indicators are occurence, twinning striations and labradorescence.Holistic Characteristics:This shimmering stone encourages patience. It assists in changes, attracting strength and perseverance. The energy helps transformation of intuition into action - helping you put your thoughts into deeds. It is a true celestial stone, symbolizing the moon - helping you to advance and a stone of the sun - giving you the vitality for "yourself" during transitions.
Labradorite is said to bring clarity of inner sight and progression. It helps protect the aura keeping it clear, balanced protected and free from energy leaks. It helps transform intuition to the intellect helping you to use inner messages. Labradorite is said to help you realize and achieve your destiny in this life while enhancing faith and reliance in your self.

Name: Elysia "Sizzla" Marvel Age: 24! Not gettin' any younger..Race: 1/2 Human, 1/2 FaeOccupation: Jack of many trades...Writer, editor, shopowner, motherAppearance: Elysia is of medium height and build, with long, wavy silver hair and striking blue eyes. She's nearsighted, and usually wears contacts, but she'll wear her glasses on some occasions. When you look at her wardrobe, one word comes to mind: comfort. She loves her hoodies and pajama pants, and dislikes anything stuffy or buttoned to the top. She also has quite the shoe fetish, and tries not to spend all of her money on footwear.Personality: Elysia woke up on Gaia almost three years ago, not remembering much about what happened before. She knew she lived on Earth, but couldn't remember anything specific about her time there. She's now started her life anew in Gaia, becoming an entrepreneur of sorts, and starting a family. She's helped to start up a new Gaian magazine, and runs a shop and laboratory where she does experiments to the DNA of the Furies. She does like to spend a good deal of her time just relaxing at her home in Gambino.
She's generally happy and outgoing, trying to make sure that everyone she knows is happy. In this sense, she's quite altruistic. Events throughout Elysia's life have led her to have an open mind about most all things, and she has examined her life at many points, wanting to make sure that she's never doing something that makes her unhappy. Though she may be a little on the emotional side, (she's a Scorpio) she's smart and a good communicator.Likes: purples, blues, sparkly things, music, driving, spring and fall, the smell of chlorine...Dislikes: People who laugh innappropriately, snorting laughs, bad drivers, humidity. Hobbies: Photography, music...listening to it that is, RP!Favorite People: LilBuddha, her children, all of her wonderful Gaia friendsHistory: See aboveAbilities: Elysia is not very open about her talents, and she tries to only use them for personal means. She has some psychic ability, and can use telepathy with anyone. She can also predict some future events, but most of the time, she tries to ignore her power, letting events fall as they may.

This is Labradorite as I found her, a gorgeous gem that was emitting wisps of shadow. What could have happened to this stone? Looks like I'll be finding out soon enough...
