I've been hearing a lot of weird glitches that people have found on their HM DS games. I heard that these things were generally found on first edition versions, but I found one on mine!


Some of these glitches include:

Make Mine Monsters Missing!: Save and then reload game in the mine and the monsters on that level will all be gone.

Standstill: Jack freezes and will not move, but time goes by. Wait until the day ends naturally and it just freezes with a black screen at 6:00am.

Walking Mermaids/Invasion of the Clones: All characters on the map are replaced by Leias or Jacks. Usually with the Leia glitch when you talk to the person, they will still talk and their normal picture wil appear on the touch screen. With the Jack clones, Jack's picture will appear (as if you are talking to a twin) and the game will freeze.

Start Screen Glitch: Sometimes on the Start screen, the people will all be Leias except for a few (top row, top group, small group to the left, ect.). However, some of the Leias will have strange colors, and others will just be black 'shadows' of her. (This glitch does not affect your game or ability to load your game at all.) [Note: I have actually found how to "activate" this glitch. You can skip the Harvest Sprite face scene if you want. There is a split second after the sprite face flashing where if you tap the screen once very quickly the screen will turn white again and then return with the glitched appearence. Also, the 'confetti' that normally rains down on the characters is blinking more than flying.]

Millionare Glitch: Though some strange combination of random acts and hiring the fishing team in winter, some people have randomly awoken in the game with a million gold (highly inconvenient to those who want to pass the whole game on their own hard work.)

Money from Brushing: This one is actually helpful! If you brush your horse and then, while the character is still brushing, quickly switch to your milker you will retrieve a bottle of milk! Same thing works with shearing horses and cows and milking sheep.

Limbo: Not so much bad as it is annoying, sometimes if your wooden structures are destroyed during a storm, the resulting rubble will make a multi-colored patch where the building once stood. You cannot walk into or over it, but going in and then out of any other building should fix it.

Harest Sprite Freeze: Sometimes, if you hire sprites to work on your farm, they might get frozen in place. it is strange because you can't talk to them, give them gifts, and you can walk straight though them (without holding B!) They will go away after the day is ended.

They're Sprites! Not Ghosts!: This is a rather inconvenient, yet completely harmless, glitch. If you build you barns, coops, storage houses, ect. in front of your water pond (where you fill up your water can) then the watering Harvest Sprite team will not be able to get around it if you hire them. They will run into the wall and continue to run into it all day until their work time runs out.

Black Hole: I've heard of one where you can temporarily get rid of your dog or cat, but I don't remember the specifics. It my involve placing them into you table, but I'm not completely sure.

Virtual Prison: If you get hit by a 'shadow' monster (I do not know exactly what that means, it may simply be the darker shades of the monsters) in the lower levels of the higher mines, they can push you back into a wall and you will go past the limits of the game's mapping into a 'Limbo.' You will be stuck in the wall, but completely able to move, eat, use tools, ect., but there is no way out.

Happy Birthday To...Who?: Before the New Years Eve celebrations, some people who returned to their homes to drop something off have been forced into an awkward event (you must be married and your wife must pregnant.) There is a lovely dinner spread out on the table (prepared by your wife,) and a baby crawling around! But your baby hasn't been born yet. When you talk to her she will say, "Do you know what today is?" Your choices are, 1.Our Anniversary 2.Your Birthday 3.My Birthday 4. ' Birthday. The correct answer is 4, and apparently this is supposed to be your unborn child's birthday (for this time only.) Although when you wake up the next morning, the child is no longer there. You child is then born at the proper time and the birthday will be correct from then on.


These are the one that I have heard and can remember. If I think of or hear of any others I will post them too, and I would like to hear if any of you have experienced these or other glitches in your HM DS game.

yeah i had glitches but mostly only the fact that it would freeze when i went to put water into my watercan or after i leave the spites house

The DS has the tendency to freeze in the case you havn't noticed already. sweatdrop It's best to save your game on both slots so that if one freezes, you still have it saved.

nope iy only does that with my HMDS but I did something and now it only happens when I'm in the mines

Actually, you get one billion gold randomly if you have the fishing team at the ocean. You don't need to do the rest of it. neutral
