Why does everyone say that emo=music style?
Perhaps it's because I'm too old and I'm out of the loop, but I was under the impression that "emo" was a shorter word for "emotional" or "emotion," as in how a person feels and by my count, that has nothing to do with music.
The term "emo music" would have to do with a music style, wouldn't it? Dealing with a persons emotions in music.
So being "emo" would be a person in touch with their feelings, not having to do with music or clothes at all.
Or I could just be looking too far into this. Perhaps I'm just spittin' foolishness. That's just how I see things.

It's easy to spit out the rehearsed 'emo is short for emotive hardcore, a musical genre that emerged etc etc', But if all kids today do is dress in black jeans and listen to Taking Back Sunday I personally don't see why that is any less or any more 'emo'. If that's what they do and that's what they call it then let them. It doesn't matter anyway, they can do whatever the ******** they want with themselves.

I'd say it was first a type of music. But now a lot of people think of "emo" as a fashion.
