Now, you mention his having O.D.D. and A.D.H.A., but I am wondering if you meant to say O.C.D. and A.D.H.D. since O.D.D. is typically seen in very small children (toddlers), and A.D.H.D. is not a disorder that I am a aware of, but usually stands for "advanced dental hygiene practitioner".

Most bipolar people need medication, although other forms of therapy are also used. It is very dangerous to go off any medication without the doctor's approval. So he should never think about getting off any medication unless his doctor told him that he does not need it anymore and that it is perfectly safe to stop taking it.

O.D.D = the reson he won't go to the doctor. defying athoritative figures or even people they love. they're favourate word is "no" they like to do things that they know they shouln't do. but I have a biased here.....

A.D.H.D = it's commonly thought that those with ADHD can't focus on anything. this is un=true. what's going on is when they're not interested their prefontal cortex shuts down and they're unable to focus on the task ahead of them. very few are able to make it though school. HOWEVER if they are interested they can hyper-focus where their prefrontal cortex goes into overdrive and they might look obsessive. for exsample, I can't sit down and write an english paper, and yet I sat down for five days missing all meals and styaing up all night, working on a story I wanted to write.

Bi-Polar = primaraly dramatic mood swings. one miniute a bi-polar person can be on the top of the world and the next they're down in the dumps and ready to die. I can't prdict when alot of my friends are gunna crash becuse they'll be in the 'manic' phase of bi-polar. another sideeffect is staying up all night.

NOTE: everyone always looks at the negitive side effects of these disorders but there are positive ones the only reason they're not seen is that they arn't suported in our sociaty. the creative arts tends to be where most bi-polar and adhd people find their home. poetry, acting, stories, art, music, all of that stuff taht we'd all die without but dosn't get enough respect.
