Here, we can throw out ideas, further discuss, analyze and tear apart the newest guild-wide storyline to come.

Overview.

Civil War storyline is the introduction and subsequent descent of Eden onto Gaia. Similar acts have been used as literary devices in movies, shows and recently, comic books. However, this has our own brand of twist. To make this 'world-wide' ending dilemma something a little different than the norm, since we are so used to plots like that. People have always thought the world they lived in was dangerous, what with all the powered demi-gods and people with the strength to move moons running about, but they didn't really ever care. It was normal to them, day in and day out doing what they normally did. However, what Victor wanted was a world that didn't need these 'heroes' or amazing beings. Humanity deserved to cared for itself and it could if it was so heavily influenced by evil in all its forms.

Thus starts Victor's revelations within the Void, at the Library of Alexandria iitself, that there is a way to remove evil entirely, as it does have a somewhat manifested form.

However the road and process to do so requires hefty sacrifices.

The act requires the lives of exactly 1 million lives. Lives which are just as easily given by Victor as he starts up Eden. However Victor also requires the abilities of those with ties into the various elements of the planet itself, in order to force Destruction to ascend. Those approached by Victor have their deepest desires fulfilled, at a personal cost, as he ensures that the achievement of their own singular goals can be attained by following the road he takes. Characters within the Gaian community split into two groups: one advocating the annihilation of Destruction as a responsible obligation, and the other opposing the act on the grounds that it violates the right of freedom to choose and believe in what you want. The genesis for this has long been building in a 'Road to Civil War' throughout the months as Victor has been making his moves. Within the story the adoption of sides by characters within Leviathan builds into the titular civil war.

Whose side are you on?

What's been said already.

I should make it a large scale event...

Descent of Eden or something, give everyone a chance to stop Victor.

Especially with how he keeps collecting other characters left and right.

Oh you KNOW I'd be on board with that.

It'd just be a Levi civil war... Victor and the shunned vs. Vahn and the loyal?

Just a long string of grudge matches. xd

That's just perfect.

Sets it up so damn righteously.

Two sides opposed on one single issue and how to carry out said issue.

Victor would recruit Decruda's evil council (of course planning to backstab them since they are inherently evil after all and how Shield recruited villains to track down unregistered heroes) as well as all those forsaken or lost to the annals of time.

All the characters that are relegated to a 'back seat' as it were.

Vahn and those who still believe it's worth living day in and day out fighting for something that can't ever change, and that its up to the people themselves to decide what they want.

Vahn Kyonuske
Victor's bio pretty much details what hes all on about: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=13&t=82190#34984624

As for the story.. well

Victor went to Barthavos to open up the Tower that their ancestors had left all derelict in the sands. Except it wasn't really a tower, tower. More like a.. well, giant elevator. It was the only thing that allowed someone direct acess to 'Eden', (which has it's own backstory in its thread at Levi).

Vahn tried to stop Victor, but obviously failed, so now Victor's moving on with his plan to gather as much life energy as he can to open up a can of whoop a** on the manifestation and collection of Gaia's negative emotions, evil, feelings, etc-- whatever.

However Eden's ability is like a giant door, and he needs keys to open said door. Certain people, who he's started to recruit will act as mediums for those keys, so he can start the process.

i see so you are just talking about it? planning it?

Planning yea, and hashing out ideas.

I've been sorta sitting on Victor and Eden ever since the barthavos rp ended.

Had Victor make appearences here and there sporadically..

But the entire civil war arc can be kicked off as 1 million lives vanish off the face of Gaia, signaling the descent of Eden as the keys begin to unlock its power.

Then everyone involved slowly starts to form sides or watch from the sidelines, as civil war swings into full throttle, with the fight being taken to eden, and a confrontation with victor and his band of forgotten.

Stryphe
It's a story arc, kids. That means it's something big happening without it being an "event". Which I'm kind of tired of.

So I'd assume simply "joining" is less an issue of wether you want to or not and more of an issue of wether or not you're really connected to the plot.

Edit: Unless Vahn plans to make this into a hosted "event" and I'm just an a*****e.

Civil War has the potential to be awesome.

made a thread for discussion in the levi lounge.

I can just see some grand battle-esque thing as each location is assaulted and each side comes to blows while trying to defend said sites.

As long as it isn't run like Grand Battle was... it was an experiment, but things could probably have been better.

If it comes to that with this, it would probably be best to have someone NPCing the Shields or something like that and someone NPCing the Murmillians, so that all the NPC army actions can be taken care of and people's actions will just decide how the two people doing the NPCing agree to play out the army... more on the story, less on the battle as far as the NPCs are concerned.

Which should leave it open to epic showdowns between PCs, which can sway the outcome of the storyline depending on who wins the fights.

I've got two things to say...

1. Vahn needs to somehow end up at the Fah Tribe camp in Barthavos, because he needs to lead a team of X-men/pirates.

2. Put an army on Shadow Island, then crash it into Eden.

Good idea, you've been working towards this a long time. I will make all my characters subservient to this in any way you wish it to work it. Just as long as my characters remain 'in character', meaning true to their various personalities. I have limited ability to help, but will do so in whichever way I can to make this plot arc interesting for everyone.

You can use Ymir's abilities as part of what you need to help force destruction to ascend. I really don't care what happens to anyone I role-play besides Adaire.

Meh, sounds okay. I would have to somehow get involved in the story at some point, though. I'll probably be dragging a couple of people along with me as well.

Acacia could easily be tricked into using her power over plant life to help Victor. And any other skill she might happen to have..

Well, you know Flare and I are in, and I'll probably end up pulling in people who are close to Owle, like Kalis and Rage if he's up for it.

Flare and Owle will be openly working for different sides.

Who will end up where will depend on how things play out.

Gamma's good as a gun for hire. Plus the fact there are a lot of people in these parts that would like to see him dead.

Deity as a whole could be swayed with money. Buy some NPC armies.

All of my characters are around and getting ready to start quests, so if I somehow end up mixed into all of this then I will do my part, whatever it ends up being.

Athan's pretty much borderline for being involved in this. Guess it kind of depends on what happens, but I do see him being pulled into the whole thing.

Just not sure of what side he'll be on.

Curious, I like the concept a lot. To achieve the greater good, lives must be lost, but where does the amount become too much? 1 million lives for the sake of a whole planet? Thats minuscule in the grand scheme, but in a sense who has the right to decide who lives or dies?.. Who could commit such an act of hubris in saying they have the right to decide that.

Honestly I couldn't tell you which side would get Dantes attention, both have good causes its merely whether the end justifies the means. To be honest there most likely isn't a good or bad side in my mind.

Hence why the monicker 'civil war' fits.

Aside from the obvious ripping of the abysmal Marvel event.

looks like people are digging the "storyline" way more than the "event" way. i'm one of 'em. the world can't always come close to ending and being saved in one weekend of action. gives time for lines to be drawn and crossed between friends and allies.
