I just started playing in a guild of friends from a forum I go to and I'm really enjoying it. I played back in 2000 and sporadically throughout the years but it never really stuck with me. I'm having a Hell of a lot of fun now, though, and since this is the Animal Lovers' Guild I wonder if everyone's love of animals extends to Neopets razz They've got a lot of ads now but the experience is pretty fun despite that. The worlds and exploration have become incredibly well-done and I can't get enough of the flash games. I wrote a story hoping to get in the Neopian Times (Neopets newspaper), entered the Pet Spotlight, and entered the Beauty contest (My drawing and entry can be found here if anyone wants to vote for the little guy). Since I'm starting to get to know people on this guild I'm wondering if anyone plays Neopets and wants to Neofriend me. They've got a few two-player games and stuff. It's gotten pretty easy to make NP, I re-signed up a little under a month ago and already have two painted pets. Aaaaanyway, just thought I'd ask. xd If anyone wants to sign up, too, there's a link in my sig.

I did neopets a while ago. I didn't really quit, it just started to fade out of interest. Then when I came on again, I had password issues, and I never got a new account. Maybe you can look it up, it's free_style_s (that's actually how I got my nickname! sweatdrop

I've been wasting a ton of time playing Neoquest. It's so boring but I just really want that trophy.
I had password issues on my old account. I used a fake birthday that I totally forgot. I remember the password and all but since it needs a birthday to log in now I'm screwed.

Hmm, I use too, I stopped when I started to play Gaia.

I didn't save, I was never that rich, I was lucking enough to find it in the adoption.
Maybe you could write something about Neopets in the newsletter?

I don't know if the newsletter is the proper place to talk about Neopets, though razz It's fun and all but I'm pretty sure the Newsletter's purpose is information about animals. It'd be up to Allinea, I guess.

Well, to be honest, I got into roleplaying late in the game my last couple years of high school. I was into Neopets then, so all my roleplaying friends are on there. Other roleplay sites I've tried just....I didn't like them at all. As for the outgrowing, I was referring to all those restrictive rules they have there. gonk No cursing, talking about politics, religion, only 400 characters per post... it's ridiculous. I like the more open-minded style here on Gaia. Now, if only I could get the roleplay board to move more quickly and have some worthwhile topics....
I probably like roleplaying because I"m too lazy to make real novels and such out of my character ideas. xd I get one or two chapters in and quit. I'm sure other people are like that too....I hope.

I'm trying to become a published horror writer and I used to roleplay to keep up my skills. Not horses, haha, but I'd set a scene with a nation/city I invented with a variety of self-created species and a government and let people wreak havoc within the world I set up. It took an idea I had made and brought it out of my control, so I'd have to keep on top of things and keep thinking.
I tried to join a "Literate Roleplay" guild here on Gaia but it was so stagnant and arrogant I left quickly. I haven't roleplayed since I was sixteen. I just can't seem to get into it anymore. I'm still writing and I may go to my favorite forum's literary critique board soon with what I have so far. That's playing with the big boys, though. Most of them are published and all are brilliant. They give harsh critiques and I want to make sure I'm ready.
Incidentally, those are the people my Neopets guild is made of. Not the literary section, but the forum at large. They're known for getting into MMORPGs and other games and staging hilarious events that the game's not made for. Say, in World of Warcraft a bunch of one group made a guild called "Swim Meet" and ran to the other faction's capitol only to drown themselves in the moat en masse.
In Neopets with the rules you mentioned we're not able to do our regular activites due to the strict rules. It's sad, we could really do something funny.

I play Neopets.
Though I haven't been on in a while, lol.
I've also played PowerPets which I loved...
But they froze my account because my Dad
created an account to help get me get some items
I really wanted..... crying I miss PowerPets.
But since they did that, and after we explained the
situation to them and they still refused to unfreeze
my acount. I vowed never to go back to them... :[
I tried out Marapets too....But I didn't really like it.
I didn't like Zetapets either....o.O
So now I just stick to Gaia and MapleStory.
