I found a tape recently that I have had since I was a child with the movie Horton hears a who. I realized in that movie that Horton was ridiculed for something that could not be heard normally because he had very large ears and heard things more clearly then most. So this got me thinking...what if the people that say these things about how they hear voices and such, what if they are just like Horton where they hear things, but its not just something anyone can do, you have to be born with that like he was. This got me thinking that maybe people misjudge that something is really a disease and only say that is because they do not understand it.

Another thing that crossed my mind is that Dr Whovee was also ridiculed for believing in other worlds yet he knew for a fact they excisted. What if this is true for people they see things that seem to not be there. What if they are there, you just haven't believed enough and had the specilized equitment to see or hear things in another world. Whatever the case I believe that movie has a lesson. 3nodding

Well, I believe one-hundred percent in other worlds out there, and that they could be any shape, size, or form.
But the thing I have to say something about, is with the people that have been diagnosed 'crazy' if they hear voices, etc.
The thing is, we know that these people aren't in their right mind.
We know that there's something wrong with their brain wiring and that's what's causing them to have this mental disorder.
Horton was just blessed with the gift of big ears.
Skitzophrenics have something wrong with them, that's the sad part.

there may be other worlds but i doubt that human ears would be able to hear them.

Maybe or maybe not. How do we know this? What if they are merly hearing the words of some demon on another realm telling them to do these things? I know there are other worlds out there also and I know that those beings often interact with our own world. Negative forces could be telling these people things as I have witnessed for my self of what they can do in minipulation. People says its some mental disability but what if its just because they are being controled by another source? This is what I truly believe as I know that they do it to some people...but to a varity of people is possible also and no one would see it as weird because people view it as a disease which there for means them being exposed is highly rare unless someone with great experience reconizes what they are doing.

My uncle who is dignosed with this "desease" often tells of what happened. He said it felt like some force took him over inside his body making his mind slip into the unconsicous. So if this is true for him who is to say it is not true for others?

Whatever the case is I believe people with this are in fact hearing voices from a force that wishes to cause harm to not only them but this world. They use them in minipulation for fun or rather just because they can. Yet few people refuse to believe this even though they know it is possible.

I'm not saying you could be wrong, but not right, either.
That case with your uncle, saying it was like his mind slipping into unconscience,
That's what it's like for a "Deseased" person.
That's how the brain tries to comprehend with the disorder.
Eventually, it kind of takes over certain recevers in the brain, depending on what part it's in.

Well I am not much into knowing about the brain... But what about when they go into something like that, they do things...things they wouldn't normally do even with them being in that constant state all the time they would do something completly out of the ordinary? I think its possible for demonic possession to leave a physical scar hidden somewhere on the body, either it be in the brain or some where that is visible to the human eye. Either way...I believe this is possible just by hearing and experiencing things the way they are.

But what if people having such abilties do not have this desease? What if they actually hear other beings as it has been discribed in many magical history. 3nodding Not just from bad things but good things to. Like some people have said they heard someone call their name but yet no one was even in the house or around when it happened. Then it happening several times. Or people seeing "ghostly" figures. Some people have those abilties where some do not, or some devolop them over time. Or what about children claiming to see fairies or other creatures?

I suppose I am not entirly talking about people with the disease but people who can actually hear and see different things because they were born with a certain ability. And like that movie..horton was born with his large ears. Which means people can be born with these abilities yet people claim them as crazy or that it is delusions. Yet the people that see these things are very smart people and know very much about the world around them and possibly other worlds, they arn't like the ones who have fits and things. I know for a fact there is people out there like this as having someone in my family being born with this ability and actually witnessing what she saw. Over time as she kept telling me about the situation the things she said would happen, happened and then starting to devolop a sense of what is truly there.

People claim these things as delusions yet...how can you explain countless of things being moved across the room with many people witnessing it? It certainly is not an illusion!

Damn shout border isn't working stressed .
I know this has nothing to do with your's and Chaos' ongoing debate but: All the other planet's can't just be out there for decoration. We can't be the only intelligent-life inhabited planet. Hell, it might not even be a planet that they inhabit. Like Chaos said: "They could be in any shape, size, or form".
My posts look so plain without it gonk .

I believe that was by Dr.Seuss who is just amazing. I remember reading Hortan Hears Who when I was like 7.

But anyways that's not the point I'm actually writing a book where there's a girl who's paranoid, or it seems like that but really there's an alternate dimension where the people there are connected with the people in this dimension so that if we get hurt or die they do so they end up looking over us and watching a lot so she can sense hers and [her name is Eve and his is Adam : D] Adam has DID [Dislocative Identity Disorder] and one of his personalities is homicidal/suicidal and another one loves her so she can feel when he wants to kill him and when he loves him but everyone thinks she's just paranoid but really she has that extra sense.
It should be awesome when it's finally done.

Then I've got one where there's a whole group of people trying to save humanity but they can't be seen due to mind lazyness and there's there's this one girl who can see them. Nobody thinks she's crazy or anything because she doesn't go around telling people. because the conversation would go like:
"hey there's this people trying to save us but nobody else can see."
"so how do you know"
"well there's this god person who talks to me in my head!"
"Oookay..."*calls asylum*

I'm personally unsure of whether other worlds exist or not. I would like to think so because it gives a certain kind of hope that I'm not crazy and there might be a place that might not have problems my home has. I think when people truly believe that there are other worlds, they have something that greatly upsets them in their own world whether they realize it or not. Otherwise they might wonder once in a while, but never truly would want to give up all they have currently. I think that every world that existed would have problems, but if I knew what the other world was like I might be convinced to leave.

I'm the type of person who will "believe it when I see it", but that made a lot of sense to me, and there are some things I make exceptions for.

I like to believe there are other worlds, asides. Too bad I don't have an explanation for my belief in them. xD

I definitely think that there are other worlds. I also believe that people who just flat out don't think there are, are pretty egotistical. I mean.. thinking that you're the only community of thinking organisms in the universe is just... being ignorant. Or another form of narcisism. I don't know... something like that.
Hearing them? I'm not so sure about that, but its possible, I suppose. XD
I don't mean to sound rude.... mew. That's what I think, though.

I believe there is other world out there, because look at the whopping number of planets and stars out there, and look at extremely super whopping chances of us being the only intelligent life form in universe.

As for people ability to sense something nobody else can, well >_> <_< >_> it DID happen on certain occasion (like myself for example). If you want to really find out about what happen to me once in the life that actually predicted event several years later, then add me ;3. Anyway, probability of someone having extra sense (I do mean extra sense) is rare, but not unheard of. People who were proven wrong about someone's sense occasionally try to denie it or prove that someone's extra sense didn't do enough (that also have happen), and I dislike those pompous deniers stare
PostPosted: Thu Feb 08, 2007 10:31 am

we know that other species have some senses which supposedly humans have not developed well or at all.

sharks and rays are supposed to be keenly aware of magnetic fields for instance.

it would not surprise me if there are people who are sensitive in ways not yet recognized but which could actually be quite natural.

their senses may be called "intuition" or "psychic" but maybe all that means is that we don't uderstand their natural basis yet.
