Umm...isn't this covered in "Suggested Reading"?
Honestly, you could at least spell out favorite, hell, you can even add a 'u' if you are so inclined. This is a book guild after all. A lesson in grammar wouldn't kill you either.
Bottom line: if nothing else, check the front page to make sure you can't just put your query in an established (thus, pre-existing) thread, and for all that's good, do not murder the English language!
I'm going to leave this here as an example--at least until Crystal reads this--with a warning: don't make me break out the seagreen font.
This thread is absolutely inexcusable.
Sincerely, -LD

Well, I looked back through pages and pages of threads, but for some reason no one has ever thought to make a favorite book thread until now... confused There is a favorite author one... But no favorite book one. So I guess this one can stay. I will, however correct the spelling/grammar in the title. biggrin
My favorite book is Ella Enchanted. The one WAY before the movie. The movie sliced and diced my favorite book. crying

That's too hard!!! I recently read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, and that was good, but it wouldn't be my favorite. I love The Prophecy of the Stones by Flavia Bujor and The Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini, but practically nobody likes those.

Wow Varos, you certainly laid down the law, something up your skirt?
Hmm, favourite book, I'd have to say a few of them would be Across the Nightengale Floor by Lian Hearn, The Abhorsen Trilogy, Edenborn, The Chronicles of Narnia the REAL books, none of this movie adaptation crap kids are reading. It's early so I'm missing a few, oh well.
P.S. Don't be so quick to tear the throat out of someone Leavaros, you could have simply done as Muse did and serach for a similar thread, there aren't that many forums to go through, or in the very least moved it, not to mention you didn't even use your Modly Colours, tisk tisk, and everyone sees me as holier than thou.

Bite me, Demon. This thread is--for all intents and purposes--covered in the "Suggested Reading" thread. Very simple. I didn't use my color because I wasn't actually enforcing anything, just making a point, and a promise.

My favorite book of all time is Being a Green Mother by Piers Anthony. It was the first book that I actually sat down and read for fun. Since then I have read books almost non-stop.

If I had to choose one favorite book, it would have to be Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart. It's one of the best fantasy novels in the past twenty-five years!
"Take a large bowl. Fill it with equal measures of fact, fantasy, history, mythology, science, superstition, logic, and lunacy. Darken the mixture with bitter tears, brighten it with howls of laughter, toss in three thousand years of civilization, bellow kan pei—which means 'dry cup'—and drink to the dregs."
"And I will be wise?"
"Better. You will be Chinese."
—Barry Hughart, Bridge of Birds.

Mine would be The Sight by David Clement-Davies. Since I read this one nothing has come close to beating it. And I first read it 3 years ago.
