((Okay, so this is set on the beach, blah blah, let's see were this gets us! mrgreen ))

RPing order: me, sola, deo, acinonyx, then Olive.

Michel Cousteau - 100% Kookaburra

Michel sat in a tree looking out into the ocean. The bird-man sighed heavily and looked down at his now feathered arms. He thought about Jules, Katherine, and all the other people he had left behind. No matter how depressed it made him feel, he just couldn't help himself. He couldn't believe that he had been stuck on this cursed island for nearly a whole year now. It seemed just yesterday that he had last waived goodbye to his family, ready to get on the plane that would eventually lead him here.

Michel shook his head, trying to get the thought out of his head; it was to late to think of them now. Deftly, he jumped out of the tree and silently touched down onto the ground.

((75% red kneed tarantula - Like this but female and with more human looking eyes and not so large fangs and she's wearing a dark blue bekini top. Hope it's ok to make the sun start to set.))

The sand felt nice under her four feet, it almost felt right if it weren't for the spray of ocean mist. No matter, she was restless. She hadn't eaten for a month so there must be something tasty here. Her eyesight was terrible so she stayed close to the jungle, all she could see now was light, dark and blurry movement, colour had long since left her spectral range.

She stopped suddenly, feeling vibrations on her back hairy legs, her front having no hairs as yet to sense movement. The setting sun made her feel better about being in the open. She lowered herself slowly, placing her four arms on the sand. The tarantula had found it easier to run this way and hunting was easier this way. She was still, waiting. With her weak eyes she could make out that it was a bird of some sort, but from this distance the large 5 ft spider wasn't sure how big it was. Best thing to do was wait for it to come to her and waiting is was Tarantulas did best.

(75% German Shepard)

At least the sand felt good every time he stumbled...

You see, Deon could hardly walk on two legs anymore. Sure he could take about five steps before falling, but what was the point? Well...there was one, and that was reserving his fleeting humanity. Hell, he almost blended in with the sands golden color, if it wasn’t for the black streaks running down his back, from the air he would be nothing more then an odd lump of sand.

Grumbling he tried to walk yet again, his Canine features readily visible. He looked just like a bipedal dog, from his wet nose tipped snout, to his tail. Even his eyes had changed color, from a light brown to an amber color. Slowly he walked, using his tail for balance...

But...

Soon swearing ensued as his body hit the sand.

(Ryan, 0%)

Ryan angrily swatted jungle plants out of his way. He was lost. It irked him that he was lost in a forest, after all the time he had spent in the woods at home. Admittedly, it was a jungle, and he'd never actually been in one before, but still, he felt they should at least be similar.

There were some sounds up ahead, though not any he could place. It sounded like TV static. The ocean, of course! He'd finally be out of this dammed jungle!

After pushing aside a few more plants, he was suddenly greeted with a veiw of the sun starting to set over the Atlantic. Eager to be out of the jungle, he ran forward. Only to suddenly trip over something lying on the beach, and went flying forward. He had enough time to open his mouth to shout just before his face hit the sand.

[Cecil-Northern mockingbird- 75%... And the wings are on the back.]

Irony was a b***h.

Cecil's wings had finally grew out all the way, sure, so had all they dull grey feathers as well, but that wasn't the point. There were also the weird talons that he once called his feet. His mouth? Still can't talk with it, but now that was guaranteed with the small, sharp beak in it's place. He was like a bird in every way, except he couldn't fly.

What he wouldn't do to fly right now.

His precious notebook was stuck up in a tree, he was perched with it one moment, and the next thing he knew it, he was grounded. Cecil didn't know why he fell, but he suspected that he overestimated the power of his talons. Cecil managed to get on the tree from a duplex rooftop of a friend, but now that his friend was asleep, he couldn't get the ladder in her room to climb up there and go on the tree again. Climbing the tree wasn't an option, not in this state anyway.

Whatever the case, he needed to get his notebook back, seeing it was his only understandable means of communication. It was that or sign language, and he doubted that anyone would understand him.

There was a figure in the distance, a silhouette in the sunset he couldn't quite see any distinguishing features, but he knew that whoever it was, they were coming. He waved his feathery hands in distress.

More movement was felt under her feet, this wasn't right, there were too many and one could harm her. They were behind her, but she couldn't yet figure out how far away they were. The human was curious, she wanted to see who it was, she hadn't seen anybody for a long time. The tarantula relented, she could always hunt later or if they turned out to be edible then sooner.

Georgia lifted her body up and looked over her shoulder, she blinked but could only see blurry motions. Something though had fallen out of a tree, she was sure of it. Her whole body turned around, her hands clenched in front of her nervously. Now that the spider had recided into the back of her mind she felt self-concious, maybe she should go afterall. Her hesitance was short lived however as she crept forward, even though she would probably terrify anybody who saw her; thus she was cautious.

"'eloh?" Her voice was disorted by her large deformed split upper jaw, the bottom one wasn't faring as well either as a slight split devided it almost into two.

Just great...

Something had tripped over Deon, not only causing the being to go flying, but causing a sharp pain in his side. HE yelped, quite loudly. "Screw this.." He muttered, slowly standing on all fours, and giving in to his attempt at standing. He was...almost an animal, the only thing human about him would be his hands, most of his skeletal system. That and his brain, so far, it was fighting off most instincts, but eventually it would lose. This would send Deon into a state of mind, half canine and half human...

Oh the joy...if he ever go out of this hell there could be a sitcom... oh wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Slowly he looked over at the being who tripped over at him, and with a loud grumble he stood. Of course it hurt, but then again, standing on all fours hurt too, might as well do what’s familiar. "Ummm...need help buddy? Deon asked, forcing the nicest smile he could...under the circumstances.

Ryan sat up, coughing and spitting out sand. His mouth felt filled with the stuff. Without turning around, he replyed to the person who had spoken to him. He hadn't yet made the connection that what he had tripped over was the person talking to him.

"No, I'm alright, -spit- just a little -spit- sand in my mouth." He stood up and turned around to speak with the man face to face, only to find he wasn't exactly a man any more. "Oh." It was the only word that would come to Ryan's mind for a few seconds. He tried to recover quickly.

"S-sorry, just not, you know, ah, used to, well..." His words failed him again, and all he could do was gesture to Deon.

Cecil froze at the sound of someone answering his summons.

He looked around, it seemed that the figure was curious about what he was waving about. When the source of the voice came closer, Cecil was frozen in ice. He tried making a face, do some kind of motion, but he just stood there, unmoving.

He... Or she, he couldn't tell in the light or the voice. Had more than two legs, four to be exact. This part wasn't surprising, he's seen many people with four legs running around the island. And four arms. Well, that was something new. It took a little bit of squinting to see that their face wasn't exactly run-of-the mill either. Whoever they were, they got some weird s**t injected in them, that's for sure.

His eye twitched and his wings rustled, a few feathers gently falling onto the grass.

Cecil snapped out of his fear fueled paralysis and waved to the four legged figure, and he motioned his hand as a gesture that said "Come on"

Michel froze as he suddenly realized that there was more than himself on the stretch of beach. He squinted in the dim light trying to make out the shape. His heart began to beat faster as he realized that the person, or thing, in front of him had eight limbs. It was definitely a spider, he could tell that much. The avian part of him began to panic and the wings on his back unfurled, beating the air, ready to make an escape. Suddenly, the eight-legged figure spoke, which sent Michel over the edge. He leaped forwads, towards the person, and beat his wings to get enough air between him and the threat. unfortunately, it didn't quite work out that way. He was so close to getting enough altitude, but it didn't quite work out and instead, he was sent crashing head first into the arachnid-person-thing.

((I forgot to mention that I also have back wings, hehe...))

When the person or animal (or both) in front of Georgia froze she did likewise and moved not a muscle until the flurry of movement started up again. She carried on at a slower pace so not to spook it, her body lowered her lower arms now touching the ground. Her mostly spider eyes could see now what it was; some sort of bird, but not just any bird an islander! She suddenly felt the spider's intent and took back control before she made a meal out of the person in front of her! Georgia felt sick, it was bad enough she was reduced to eating bugs and the odd rodent but to see another islander as food! That was appalling! A heavy cold feeling fell into her gut, her back strightened and her hands were brought back together in front of her chest and stomach. Hesitence had come back as she stopped now several feet away from the bird person, perfect pouncing distance had she lost control...

Georgia didn't have time to wonder if she should just run back into the jungle and hide away forever before something slammed into the back of her, an inhuman scream erupted from her throat as her back legs kicked out itchy, small hairs. Of course, being an over grown tarantula the hairs were much larger then if the attacker had been struck by an ordinary arachnid. So they were like small pins, a lot of small pins. Not only was it itchy, it was painful and woe be to them if it gets into their eyes or mouth. Causing blindness wasn't unheard of in the normal tarantula world.

Deon stared at the person, and slowly tilted his head to the right side, studying him "A dog?" He asked, full of seriousness "Or a person...well...being like myself, my friend?" He was now smiling at Ryan "Don’t you worry, soon your goanna be SOME animal...something...and if you get past the pain...and all the 'I’m ********' crap, as well as the losing your humanity...it isn’t so bad really." Deon sucked at cheering people up...really he did "Im Deon! What’s your name, huh? Yet the prospect oif a new friend was very exciting to him, a small part of him wanted a good friend...the rest of him, not so much...too bad the dog part of his brain could override the other.

Ryan tried to choose his words carefully; he didn't want to piss the dog off. "The latter. I've met a few other animals, but most of them weren't as far along."

The other subject was something Ryan was familiar with. "Yeah...so I've heard about the painful part. I um, already know what I'm going to be. An Armadillo. It's a pretty cool animal, so apart from growing armor plates, it should be fun."

"Oh, I'm Ryan. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand, resisting the urge to tell Deon to 'shake'.
