Two words:
Fox Rocks.
And yes, I use it to my advantage.
((Edit: put fox on the poll.))

I use wavedashing more to intimidate whoever I'm playing against than in any actual strategy. Except for sometimes. I use it to back away from some attacks... I haven't used it to psyche out my opponent, though, by dashing toward them... I'll give that a try next time.

I'm pretty sure that Luigi has the best wavedash.
I can't really use it that much. I've practiced, but I do not know how to add it to my play. I only use it with Ganondorf.

It's almost impossible with Mewtwo...
Any Mewtwo players out there who use wavedashing? I'd like to hear if and how they utilize it.

I play Dr. Mario, a fairly decent wavedasher. I use it sometimes to practice doing it. Only problem is I have no clue how and when to use it to it's best effect. Sometimes I just plain can't do it either. I guess I just don't have the dexterity?

Aww, don't say that.
By the way, I've heard of this on another forum... is there a way to reconfigure your controller, to make it easier to wavedash? I've met a couple of people who have done this. It involves taking apart the controller and doing something with the trigger buttons, but I'm not sure on the details.
Anyone else heard of this being done, or know how to do it?

I wavedash/dashdance all the time, regardless of character. You've simply got to know how to do it without needing to think about it, I learned to do that ages ago. Magical Girl Yossy Aww, don't say that. Never heard of it, try and do that in a professional (Or high level amateur) tournament and you'll get kicked out. You don't need to make wavedashin easier, it's easy as it is. As for wavedashing with mewtwo, learn to wavedash out of the shield. Hold one of the shoulder buttons to shield, and wavedash with the other. It's best when you're stuck really close to an opponent with your back to them, just shield, wavedash backwards, past them, and then go for that awesome grab Mewtwo has. Hope that helps, Mewtwo's wavedash is pretty good IMO, he just doesn't have many options as far as attacks go because most of them are easily outprioritised by characters like Peach or Marth (Especially Marth).

Hey, its Vyse from ward!
But yes he is right, plus it really isn't too hard once you have the timing down. Really I think people panic too much about the difficulty of learning it, like most things it will take time but when you have it down you'll find a new level of gameplay.
And yes, I use wavedashing to my advantage... not much point in using it if it isn't to my advantage.

Yes, it's easy for me to pull off, I merely brought up the subject of reconfiguring the controller to see what others had to say. And... yeah, one of my friends brought his "pimped" controller to a tournament, and they wouldn't let him use it. Loser. xp Just learn to do it the right way.

I never use wavedashing. I think it's a waste, as the lag from rolling dodges and sidesteps isn't excruciatingly horrible, and as the characters I play with are either hard to wavedash with, or wavedash only a short length. I play perfectly fine without it.

But the lag is visible enough to be punished by your opponents.
But if you use characters who have a WD which isn't too spectacular then I understand what you're saying.
