'Convert or Die' Game Divides Christians. Some ask Wal-Mart to drop Left Behind

For those who don't want to read it- a video game has been made based off the popular Left Behind book series. Which takes place after Jesus comes to earth, takes the believers with him to heaven, and leaves everyone else to face the antichrist. The game is about either you convert the nonbelievers, or you gun them down. Some Christians are trying to get the game out of store because it relays ideas of hate and intolerance.

There are other religions.
I'm Christian, but that doen't mean it doesn't appeal to me.

Even if it was like pac-man but pac-man was jesus and the ghosts were satans (or nonbelievers), and even if the game shut down every five minutes- Christians would buy it because it's well . . . Christian. I mean with all the Christians out there you would think they could pull off some decent crap. Like some of those Christian cartoons, you wonder what sweat shop in Korea did they hire to spat those out? Same with Christian comics and stuff. I mean ok- let's look at Dreamwork's Prince of Egypt- which I love that movie (I love the music and the animation- I mean holy crap man the people breath. Seriously look at them and they're breathing. When was the last animation person you saw do that when they weren't out of breath?) See that movie was quality stuff and I have even non-Christian friends who like it.

I think it's a pretty pointless idea for a game, but then again, teenagers seem to be entranced by pointless things. Like the Kitty Cannon. And Falling Sand. And Line-Rider. Add to that the obvious controversy, and bam, you got a winner.

I wonder what would happen if the good guys were muslims and the bad guys... I dunno... Jewish. Things would have been different, I know that.


Aaaand I lost the original thing I was gonna say.

It's almost as bad as the homeschool version of Monopoly I saw the other day.

Seriously; people should stop making board games that suck. We've got good ones - if you want to conquer the world, play Risk. Don't make your own "Convert or Die" game. If you want to convert everyone to one religion, play Civilization IV.

Meh. I'm tired of seeing Christians who do outragious things getting news segments. Get used to it already. A guy here in New Orleans chopped up his girlfriend and made her into stew. That got a couple days of press. Yet Christians wanting everyone to convert to their faith or die gets national coverage? Come on.
