I'm just wondering what everyone's opinions on the yuletide season are. I'd like to hear a lot from you guys on Snow Commercialism Anti Christianism Personality And anything else you might notice about this time of year.

I notice the fact that people have a higher accident or fatality rate due to drunk driving. People get into debt easier during this year; some women will fight tooth and nail when it comes to shopping.

WIth the wonderful black friday, people in my state actully leaped out of there cars ON the highway, jumped the fence, wade through a muddy stream, and ran to a shopping center, when there was a car accident in front of them. Isn't the lovely caring season of people attacking for a tickle me elmo extreme?

I myself notice a lot of people secluding themselves. People become either very social or very isolated. I also notice a lot of people start dating (as loosely as that word is used...) close to the holiday seasons.

Good Point. I notice however that there's a complete lack of christmas everywhere. It's mostly holiday this or seasons that.

People definitely get a lot more stressed right around the holidays. Trying to 1)figure out what people will WANT as presents, 2)having enough money to purchase all those presents, and 3)finding somewhere that actually has all these presents that you're looking for.

Wow, compared to you guys, I'd say that my view of the Yuletide season is more of a happy-movie type thing. It lifts my spirits, gets me thinking, and gives me something to look forward to. People complain a lot about commercialism but I don't let it bother me... I actually prefer Yuletide commercials over the normal ones. The drinking thing happens at almost every holiday, yet I doubt many of us would say that holidays are bad. And as for slipping on ice... well, you can think of downsides to other seasons as well. People die each year due to overheat in the summer. Spring brings a lot of flooding. As happy-go-lucky as this sounds, I have absolutely no problems with the Yuletide season. Maybe that's just because of where I live, I don't know.

Haha, I would have to agree with that.

The whole holiday is very commercialized. However, it's the only time I get stuff other than food and basic supplies besides my birthday. It's coooold... And I find it funny that some people feast so that it brings them to death. They should sleep over if they're gonna binge on the alcohol.

And I find it funny that some people feast so that it brings them to death. They should sleep over if they're gonna binge on the alcohol. Or get a taxi... other people around them should be aware of their drinking and drive them home or get them a taxi, some people take away everyones keys before the party or gathering.
I personally dont bother with holidays, christmas is essentially celebration of Jesus Christ and I am not a follow of god, in any religion or sect so I just dont bother buying presents. I also find it stupid that people bother to buy presents, it basically turns out to be the one who has the most money is the one who loses out on the whole gift thing.
And of course I noticed the accidents, Washington had a strange snow season this year, we had two snow weeks and the second thats happening now is messed up, everyones getting in accidents even though its like 1 inch of snow [people in washington drive worse than my dead grandma, and she couldnt see two feet infront of her].
But my general view on society in any season, holiday, time, or place is that they are incoherent and stupid rofl so this one is no different, they met my expectations.

Christmas has become winterfest, a purely secular holiday.
there's little point in getting upset at a "religious" holiday that has so little religion left in it.
