Guess I'll get the ball going with threads in the main forum. XD
What initially got you into designing (or whatever else it is that you do on photoshop)? For me, it may be weird but my idol is Mr. Fabio Timpanaro (some of you may know him as Grace Khold. Most don't know of him at all). Outside of being a synth player, he is an AMAZING graphic designer. And he inspired me to start since I've always wanted to be some sort of designer. Now I know graphic design is an option for me. ^^
So what about you? How did you first get started?

I got started designing because my friend was building basic HTML sites.
I hated the way the old, html-type-display pages looked so I started looking
at artists websites. The colors were beautiful and the graphics were amazing
and I thought "one day I'll do that."

Ooo yes web design is my other thing. I love messing with html like on myspace and here on gaia to make the structure of the profile different than the default. But the learning html (and everything else about computers) kinda just came from being online too damn much. =P

Also the fact that I wanted to start coloring my pics on computer but
I soon realised that I will need a tablet for that because I absolutely suck

Signatures. Iv always been into gaming, mainly military FPS, and through playing online I got into communities. Once I noticed the nifty things people were doing with their sigs I was hooked.

I colored pictures in photoshop at first and now I do almost everything you can do with photoshop. Except I still can't draw people. XD

Got started after watching a friend making great sigs and wishing I could make my own. Hijacked a copy of CS off the folks and got creating after playing 20 (million) questions with said friend. Loving every minute since.

I'm on a Green Day fan forum, where a lot of people are really good at photo manipulations. I sort of got into it 'cause I thought it was cool. Also, I didn't want to take the time to credit someone else for making an icon for me (icons are what I do best) so I started making my own.

You know, I don't even think there are any phtoshop classes in my school, or the one I used to go to. Doesn;t matter though, I learn best when I teach myself. Which is what I've done since I obtained photoshop.

Well...in 7th grade, there was a tech ed class that was mandatory. It taught very basic html and the basics around microsoft photodraw. I loved every second if it.
I went home and found Adobe Elements on my laptop...no clue how it got there...Its a pretty crappy program once youve used CS2, but it was good for learning basics.
Next year Im going to Carver Center for Arts and Technology (yes, I lovee throwing that name around. razz ) and taking digital arts, which includes photoshop, regular art classes and web building programs. biggrin

lol I used to take the red-eye out of pics and mess with them... then I joined a forum and got a look at the beautiful signatures everyone was making.. been fooling around with it and lovingl it ever since ^_^
