Edit: I decided to make this thread an Arashi Interviews thread...Instead of just posting these 2 interviews, I will post other interviews as well.

Here, you will see interview translations from magazines and from shows too (maybe).

So, check this thread once in a while...I'll post interviews as often as possible (n_n)

I cant remember where I got these interviews...but i certainly did not translate them myself and credit goes to those who did...

ARASHI Interview: Myojo 09/2005

ARASHI - The destined confession..."In my case, I would do it this way!!"
"What would you do!?" A DESPERATE SITUATION!
Love problems Q&A

You're in love with the same girl that your best friend is! What do you do?
Ohno: I would yield. Otherwise, i'd go together with my friend and ask her, "Which one of us do you like?"
Nino: I would give up.
Aiba: I would have a meeting with my friend and discuss about stuff like "which one of us should confess first?"
Sho: It can't be helped, can it? I would tell my friend that I will compete against him fairly using good sportsmanship.
Jun: But because of this, the girl I like shouldn't feel guilty about it.

When you aren't busy, your ex-girlfriend invites you out. What do you do?
Nino: If I'm free, I'd go.
Aiba: It depends on how I'm feeling at the time.
Sho: I think I'd normally go.
Jun: If I want to, I'll go.
Ohno: I'll go anywhere with her!

You accidentally let out a fart right in front of the girl you like! What do you do?
Ohno: I'd casually say, "Oops, I let out a fart." I wouldn't be very embarrassed.
Nino: Oh well. Because I don't really think much of it? (laughs)
Sho: I'd say, "Huh?! Oh no!" (laughs)
Aiba: I'd try to turn it into a compliment by saying, "wasn't that a great sound just now?" (laughs)
Jun: I'd turn red and apologize with a "sorry."

Your unrequited love is transferring to a far-away school. What do you do?
Jun: I really can't do it. I wouldn't confess my love. I think I'd give up.
Nino: I wouldn't do anything when she transfers. I'd give up.
Aiba: She'd probably end up leaving while i'm worrying and saying, "Oh no! What do I do?!"
Ohno: Last chance! I'd turn things around with one shot. There's no other option but confessing, right?
Sho: Well, there's always something else after.

The girl you like has been elected prom queen!(1) But the position of prom king hasn't been decided yet. What do you do?

Jun: I'd probably run for the position of prom king...I have to utilize this opportunity! (laughs)
Nino: Whatever...Run for prom king? I'd never do that!!
Aiba: What would I do? I don't think I could do it. I'd probably just watch from the crowd.
Ohno: I'd become a light that will always keep the spotlight on her!
Sho: In the manner of "Sekai no Chuushin de Ai wo Sakebu", I'd yell, "HELP ME PLEASE!" **

The girl you like is crying because her boyfriend dumped her. What do you do?
Nino: I wouldn't do anything, because there is no need to. My feelings for her and her break-up have nothing to do with each other.
Aiba: Oh man. I'd probably say, "it's okay!" I wonder if it's a good thing to say some kind words to her...It's probably best to leave her alone though.
Sho: I'd ask her, "What's wrong?" If she'll speak with me, I'll listen to her story. If she won't, I won't probe further.
Jun: I don't like to take advantage of someone's weakness but, I also hate to see the girl I like being sad so I'd comfort her.
Ohno: I'd say, "Go out with me!" Oh wait, is that not fair to her?

When you aren't around, your girlfriend messes around with your cell phone. (2) What do you do?
Sho: I would become irate.
Ohno: I first, I'd be shocked, because it's rude, you know? Then, I'd have no choice but to lose trust in her.
Nino: I'd say, "Isn't that my phone?" No matter the circumstances, that deed in itself is no good. I don't think I could go out with someone like that.
Aiba: I wonder if I would be that worried? But, Even if I say to someone like that, "Don't look!" and get angry, then they'd just look again the next time, right? So, I wouldn't say "don't look."
Jun: I'd ask her, "What was it that you wanted to see?" But, I don't have anything to be guilty of so I wouldn't mind too much.

Your girlfriend appears at the appointed meeting spot and here nose hairs are sticking out of her nose! What do you do?
Sho: I'd avoid talking about things like, "is she the type that that has long nose hair?(3)" and say, "I know it's a bit of a walk but, shouldn't we go to a restroom..."
Aiba: Usually, when girls bend over you can see a bit of their underwear, right? So usually their friend would quickly say, 'I can see your panties". I'd probably say it too, "Your nose hair is hanging out."
Nino: It wouldn't bother me.
Jun: I'd pay attention to the timing of it, and nonchalantly say it. But, If at all possible, before pointing it out I would like the hair to spontaneously go back into the nose. (laughs)
Ohno: At any rate, I'd laugh and remove it for her and say, "Mine also come out alot." (laughs)

Your girlfriend's homemade cooking tastes terrible. What do you do?
Nino: I'd say, "Tastes awful! Seconds please!" and pretend*** not to know whether it's good or not. (laughs)
Aiba: I'd nonchalantly say, "Huh? I guess it's just a difference of taste."
Sho: I'd say, "Delicious! But it doesn't really suit my taste."
Jun: I'd clearly say, "Sorry, it's not very good." If I don't do this, then she'll never get good at cooking, right? Because next time I want to eat something delicious.
Ohno: Anything I eat is good! I really won't be able to tell if my girlfriend's cooking is bad!

Your parents are against you seeing your girlfriend. What do you do?
Nino: It's none of their business is it.
Aiba; I'd ask why. I think it would be okay if I didn't stop seeing her. But if it's about marriage, well, that's another problem!
Sho: I'd be in trouble! I guess it can't be helped. But, it's not of their concern is it?
Jun: I wouldn't be bothered by it. It's their own problem.
Ohno: I'd ask them to think over what is it about her that they don't like.

You receive a love confession from good female friend of yours. What do you do?
Ohno: If I think, "Maybe this girl is pretty good after all?" I'll probably go out with her.
Nino: If I like her I'll go out with her, If I don't then I won't.
Jun: If you're just friends then you proabably won't go out.
Aiba: If I like her too, I'll go out with her.
Sho: Oh no...I'd find words to say to her that won't hurt her. Somehow, I'd like to keep things the way they are.

In the middle of a date, you end up in a quarrel with some punks. What do you do?
Ohno: We'd both run away. We'd win at running at least!
Sho: I'd say, "Excuse me, but I'm in a hurry..." and we'd run away!
Aiba: I'd whisper, "On the count of three..." and we'd run away together. If she's too slow, I'd grab her hand and pull her along with me.
Jun: I'd ask the punks, "Do you have a problem with us? We don't have any problems with you, so goodbye." and we'd take our leave.
Nino: I'd ask, "Did we do something? If you have a problem with us, we don't have have any problems with you" and pass through normally.

When you go to your girlfriend's room, it's messier than yours! What do you do?
Nino: I'd say, "What a mess." Nonetheless, I'm totally ok with it.
Aiba: I'd say, "What a mess! Let's clean it" and clean it up together.
Jun: I'd say, "Okay, shall we tidy it up?" and straighten up the room together. I'm rarely disillusioned.
Sho: I'd say, "Wouldn't it be better if it was a little cleaner?"
Ohno: I'd probably rejoice and say, "GREAT!<3" Because if you keep your room overly clean then you never feel settled in, right? You feel more at ease in a messy room.

When you go on a date to see a movie, your girlfriend wants to see a romance, but you want to see an action movie. Your opinions are divided on this issue. What do you do?
Sho: I'd see her romance movie and get my own when it comes out on DVD.
Nino: I'd go see her movie. I'd go by myself to see my movie.
Aiba: We'd rock paper scissors so there's no hard feelings. (laughs)
Jun: Rock paper scissors. We'll see whatever movie the winning person wants to see. If I lose then I'll comply with her wishes.
Ohno: I'd say, "Well then, when it's over wait for me, ok?" and we'd see our movies separately. (laughs)

You confess to the girl you've liked from afar for a long time and you get rejected. What do you do?
Nino: Give up.
Ohno: I'd give up without asking why. My feelings change fast~
Jun: If I feel like giving up I'll give up(5), depending on how much I like the girl.
Aiba: There's nothing more than just this? I'd say, "you can do it, Aiba!" to myself. But, wouldn't want to be in a situation like this.
Sho: Don't worry! Don't worry! Put it aside and go on!! (laughs)(4)

You witness your girlfriend and some guy you don't know walking together in a close manner. What do you do?
Sho: I'd do a 'WAIT A MINUTE!!" call.
Nino: I'd say, "Ah, they suit each other" and not think too much of it. I don't really get jealous much.
Aiba: I wouldn't mind. I'm not the type of person that's bothered by this.
Jun: In that case, I'd call her cell.
Ohno: I'd secretly go out with another girl too. (laughs) What a terrible guy I am.

You lost the gift that your girlfriend gave you. What do you do?
Ohno: I'd apologize, "I lost it, I'm sorry, it's my fault." and then we'd go together to buy a new one.
Sho: I'd frantically search for it. If I still can't find it, I'd write a 400 word essay of repentance. (6)
Aiba: I'd say at first, "It doesn't seem to be here...huh?!" And then truthfully apologize, "I lost it, sorry!"
Nino: I'd apologize with a "sorry!" I often lose things that people give me. Whenever that happens I apologize.
Jun: First of all, I'd search my room like my life depended on it. If after that I still can't find it no matter what, I'd probably tell her the truth.

When you go to a fortune-teller on a date, he/she tells you that, "You have the worst compatibility with each other." What do you do?
Sho: I'd say, "YOU'RE the worst. You're making empty predictions(7)."
Aiba: I'd say, "But I think we'll be compatible tomorrow!!"
Jun: I'd comfort my girlfriend by saying, "It's just a fortune-teller." You shouldn't let that kind of thing bother you, right?
Ohno: I'd encourage ourselves by saying, "If our compatibility is the worst, then we'll just have to try our best! (hahah, he says Ganbaru)
Nino: I'd say, "Huh? So what?!"

Your girlfriend begins to talk about breaking up. What do you do?
Ohno: I'd say, "I understand" and we'd break up immediately. It's probably because I did something wrong (laughs).
Nino: No matter what the cause of it is, I'd apologize with a "sorry!" If she wants to break up then I have no choice in the matter. I'd say, "Well, then that's what we'll do. Bye-bye."
Aiba: I guess it can't be helped! There no other choice but to break up if we were together reluctantly.
Jun: First, I'd listen to her story then, I'd think it over. If I understand where she's coming from then we'll break up.
Sho: I'd say, "Huh? What? Ah, I have bad reception so I'll call you again." By pretending to have bad reception, I can buy some time. (Wait, is this on the phone?!)

When you are out with your friends, all of sudden your girlfriend calls you and wants you to go out with her. What do you do?
Sho: I wouldn't go. I'd tell her, "I can't because I'm with my friends right now."
Aiba: If she knew that I was with my friends and called, I'd think, "What's up with that?" but if she didn't know then I'd invite her over and everyone would have fun together♪!
Nino: I'd say, "I'm with my friends now..."
Ohno: "Why?" I'd ask for a reason.
Jun: First, I'd listen to her reason (for calling), and if it's a circumstance where I have to go, i will. If it's a reason I can't understand (the importance of), then I'd say, "it's impossible for me to come right now."

When you wake up, you find that it's already the time when you are supposed to meet for your date! What do you do?
Sho: I'd call while running to the bus stop and munching on a pastry with milk in one hand!!
Aiba: First of all, I'd call and apologize to her with a "sorry!"
Nino: I'd call her and truthfully say "I just woke up! I'm sorry!"
Jun: I'd call her and say, "I'm sorry I'm going to be late." Then, I'd hurriedly get ready.
Ohno: I'd say, "Sorry, today's not a good day" and cancel the date. If she says she really wants to meet me then she can come to my house! (laughs.)

You ended up liking your girlfriend's little sister! What do you do?
Nino: I can't help it if I end up liking her!
Aiba: I would not like her sister! I say that but I just can't like her. Whoever wrote this question has been watching too many afternoon soap operas.
Sho: Ah, I won't tread on that territory. I would suppress my feelings.
Ohno: Her little sister is already shut out(**this he says in english)! I'd try not to go over to her house and pretend that her sister doesn't exist. But, if i break up with her then I don't know what i'd do. (laughs)
Jun: First of all, i'd break up with my girlfriend and think about what to do from there.

ARASHI Interview: Duet 03/2006 "Ai no Arashi"

15 Questions About Love

Tell us about your memories of your first love!

Aiba Masaki: Even though I don't really remember it anymore, it's probably when I was in kindergarten. That girl lived near my house, and I think I remember sleeping together when we had our afternoon naps. I don't know if this is just my own delusions (laugh)
Sakurai Sho: It was during the second year of junior high, the other person was a Hungarian. It's not too big of a problem that my first love isn't a Japanese, right? (laugh) She was just a very cute girl. It was the first time I ever felt like I was too nervous to eat.
Ninomiya Kazunari: Though I don't remember when exactly I had my first life, it was probably around the time when I was in elementary school. That's it.
Matsumoto Jun: It was in elementary school around 4th or 5th grade, I still remember the two of us playing together in the children's museum. Children's museum, it's very cute, isn't it?
Ohno Satoshi: 5th grade, but when I just realized that she was my "first love", she transferred to another school. Ahaha (laugh)

What do you do to the girl you like without realizing?

A: When I was in elementary school, I lifted girls' skirts, but I didn't dare lift hers. Maybe it's because she's the type of girl who's kind of hard to approach.
S: Look at her unconsciously. Watch her eat the entire time.
N: Nothing. I won't repeat the same manners over and over again just because I like someone.
M: Caring for her or something, probably. Because I don't like lying, it's possible that I would slip and say some unnecessary things, or things that might hurt her. It's like that a lot of times, I'm a big failure (laugh)
O: Unmanly intimacy.

What do you not want girls to do?

A: Probably not be the type who always throws away her food and drinks? If she was my girlfriend, then that would be really troublesome.
S: Using foul language, making noises while eating.
N: Nothing. If it's not one-on-one, then eating out with other guys, participating in social events are all okay. If it's an one-on-one situation, then it's okay too as long as she doesn't hide it from me.
M: Words that had appeared in HYD. "'Even I would' -- this type of wording is just degrading yourself. You have to use 'Even if it's me, I would', that type of wording." I thought that line was really great. So I hope she won't say "Even I would" that type of wording. [T/N: I guess in Japanese the first one sounds rude or something? I don't know what the original Japanese words were, sorry ^^; ]
O: Badmouthing other people. I feel this can't be said.

Are you the type who constrains your girlfriend?

A: I don't think I am. I don't like being controlled either. Even though I say that, if we're too laidback, then I'd wonder how things got this way. Someone who can match that kind of subtle feeling with me would be good.
S: No. That would be too silly.
N: No. I've always felt that "constraint" isn't a good thing, so I hate constraining others. But maybe, to her, going out with me is already a kind of "constraint"... (deep implications)
M: It's not that I'm not constraining either, but as long as I know the most basic things it would be fine, and I won't mind what she's doing.
O: No. But I don't mind being constrained.

What is the limit to flirting/What counts as going too far?

A: Depending on the situation, it's a bit ambiguous.
S: Seeing other guys face-to-face, eating dinner, I don't mind that. But if she purposely hide these things from me, then that would be going too far, right?
N: When she tells me "I'm sorry".
M: When your heart sways. That is, when the person involved thinks to themself that they are going too far.
O: Interacting one-on-one with the opposite sex, and holding hands. Even just having the thought of "I want to hold hands with him" would count as going too far.

You've made plans with your girlfriend, but when the time comes she hasn't arrived yet, and you can't reach her on her phone either. What do you do? How long do you wait for her?

A: That's hard. I would probably sit in a restaurant nearby, until she gives me a call. Even if I'm just eating out with friends and I get there early, I would do that too.
S: 30 minutes. I would wait for her without doing anything. If I listen to music while I wait, 30 minutes will pass very quickly. I don't like waiting by myself in the restaurant.
N: I'll probably wait until I get impatient. Actually, I've never made plans to meet up with a girl face-to-face. I probably won't in this lifetime either (certain)!
M: I would probably wait an hour. A few days ago, my friend made me wait half an hour, and I paced up and down the street waiting for him the entire time. But when he showed up, I still had to complain and say "You're too late!" (laugh)
O: Go home immediately (laugh). But if I can't reach her on her phone, I would worry whether something had happened. Under that situation I would wait 30 minutes.

Have you ever gone through a big heartbreak? How did you handle it?

A: Yup. It's impossible to suddenly bounce back just like that. Let it ease off with things happening around you, and time.
S: No. But even though you say it's a heartbreak, that's not really a bad thing either. You can take the time that would otherwise be wasted on that person and use it on other things instead.
N: Parting ways shouldn't really count as heartbreak. So no. Playing the guitar seems to be pretty popular too (pleased laugh) Even though I've lived for 22 years, I've never had the experience of being dumped. The way I'd handle it in my imagination would be to cut my hair, change myself a bit. This would count as a type of method too, probably.
M: I'm not really sure what a big heartbreak is like, but I've gone through the usual type of heartbreak before. The way I handle it... probably just let time ease things. Even though wallowing in heartbreak is really painful, but the deeper you feel the pain, it also shows how much you liked her.
O: I've been in the situation where we liked each other but we had to part. This probably counts as heartbreak too. There's no real way to handle it; just wait for the time to heal the wound. It took me a year to recover that time (laugh)

How many days can you go without contacting your girlfriend?

A: If there's no way to contact her, then even if it's just one day I'd worry. If I know where she is and what she's doing, then probably two to three days.
S: Probably around two days.
N: One day, probably. It would be better to be able to talk a bit every day.
M: One day, probably. If there's a reason, then it's okay no matter how many days passes.
O: Around one week is okay too. But maybe on the third day, I would worry whether or not something had happened to her.

If you're driving and your girlfriend starts to doze in the passenger seat, would you let her continue to sleep, or would you wake her up?

A: Call her a few times, but if she's still very sleepy, then there's nothing I can do. When I'm driving, the radio's my girlfriend (laugh)
S: Then I'll probably let her sleep? And turn off the music in the car too. I don't mind having people sleeping beside me, and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable either.
N: Then I'll probably just let her sleep. I usually sit in the passenger seat a lot, even though I don't really sleep much in the car. Even if someone sleeps beside me, I won't mind.
M: I'll just let her sleep. Even if she lies down, I won't mind. I think she'd probably be really tired. Even if a guy does that, I won't mind either.
O: Let her sleep. Because I feel that this is because she's very at ease, it would make me very happy. Even though I don't have a driver's license (laugh)

What kind of food do you want your girlfriend to make?

A: Ainame [T/N: A type of fish]. I really like eating that lately. (laugh) I'm just joking, anything would be good. If she made it herself then I would be very happy.
S: Anything is fine. I think it would be great if they can make Japanese food.
N: If it's for me to eat, then anything is fine.
M: Anything is okay. Ah, right~ I hope she can make noodles for me to eat (laugh) If she can fulfill that request immediately, then that would really be great.
O: Even though I say anything would be fine, if a guy says to a girl that "anything is fine", it would probably be very bothersome for her. So, based on the present, I want to eat food that accompany alcohol.

If you're going on a date right now, what kind of plans would you have in mind?

A: Expo! Ah, it already ended? I really want to go~
S: Probably the usual dinner and movie. I can't seem to think of anything~ (laugh) We wouldn't have to go anywhere special.
N: I want to sit at home with her and stare off into space. I usually don't like going on outdoor dates (laugh)
M: Carry steaming hot drinks in one hand and stroll along the streets.
O: Buy things, eat dinner, the end. I want this kind of super normal date.

What do you do if, during a date, what you want to do and where you want to go is different from what your girlfriend wants?

A: Then we can only settle things with jankenpon [T/N: Rock paper scissors].
S: We'll go a third place that neither of us chose. Like if the two of us chose to watch a movie or go to the amusement park.... then, in the end we'll decide to go to the seaside. So both of us won't feel offended (laugh)
N: We won't go on the date.
M: Jankenpon. If I lose, then I'll go with her to wherever she wants to go.
O: Give priority to what she wants to do. I can do my stuff whenever I want, so I'll let her first (laugh). The most important thing is to get along peacefully.

With regards to the expenses from the date, would you offer to pay for the both of you, let her pay, or each of you pay separately?

A: It'll probably be me. If it wasn't a date, then it'll depend on the person... if it's someone older than me, then I'll let them pay.
S: I can't possibly let her pay, right? I'll probably pay for it all.
N: I'll pay.
M: I basically like paying separately.
O: If I have to choose, I agree with paying separately. I don't think guys absolutely have to pay. Something like if she paid when we ate out earlier, then I would pay for dinner. That kind of feeling.

What do you hope the person you like will say to you?

A: What would it be? ("'You aren't so bad at all, idiot', right?" by MatsuJun) Nn, saying "Otsukaresama" really casually or something like that, probably. I don't know either.
S: It's possible that I would be moved even if she says nothing (laugh) Ah, but if she changes the way she calls my name, then that would make my heart skip a beat. When was the turning point for that change? That's the kind of feeling it'll generate (laugh)
N: Compared to using words, I think using actions is even better. Even though I would be really happy if she says "I like you" to me, in the end words are only the garnishing.
M: If it's the girl I like, then I'll feel happy no matter what she says to me.
O: Probably "I'm very at ease" or something like that. To know that she's at ease when she's with me, I'd feel very warm inside.

Please tell us three conditions to be your girlfriend.

A: Someone who has the same interests, someone who knows how to respect people, a girl who is kind and gentle.
S: Ureshii, tanoshii, daisuki! [T/N: Something like... "I'm happy, I had fun, I like it a lot!"] (laugh) If she says that to me, I'll be really happy too. Being happy when she's with me, having a lot of fun, really liking being together with me.
N: It's fine as long as you're the type I like.
M: Someone who has charisma, has her own opinions, and will be able to like me.
O: Someone who is gentle, not willful, nn.... understanding.

POPOLO Jan 2007

NINO

Incident 1
The incident of living the solo life in America.
The most important thing is body language.

America, which I went for filming of a movie, was the first time I experienced living alone. At first I tried my hardest to speak in English, but I I gave up immediately. Surprisingly if you use body language and hand language, how you feel is conveyed. Since at the coin laundry when I didn't know at all how to work the machine, I was able to overcome such hardships (laughs).

Incident 2
The incident from morning to morning.
Due to the hard filming, utterly exhausted...

The filming for "Kiroii Namida," was a schedule that started at 9 in the morning and ended at 9 in the morning. In between were regular show filming, so it was really hard. That and right after filming for 'Letters from Iwojima' was 'Kiroii Namida' which shocked me because it was the different in Japan before and after work.

Incident 3
The incident of the surprising hair.
A new discovery as a skinhead.

Due to a drama I became a skinhead, but the warmth of the sun was hot, the water in the shower was hot, and when even if you slightly bump your head it hurts like you're going to die. With turtlenecks since there is no hair it doesn't slip on, so the fabric gets caught on the skin so you can't wear it like before. That was a discovery I hadn't even thought about (laughs).

Incident 4
The incident where I went somewhere for hte first time.
Advancing to Fukui and Asia!

Due to the summer tour I went to Fukui for the first time. Although it was the same for the people that came, but our tension went very high for a place we've gone to for the first time. It was also Arashi's first dome experience (laughs). If we're talking about firsts, in 2006 it was a big event that we were able to go to Taiwan and Kore too. I was also surprised at the amazing popularity of OhmiyaSK in Asia (laughs).

Incident 5
The incident I became Kuro.
Due to an edge, being "Tekkon"s Kuro.

Since 'Tekkon Kinkurito' was a drama I really enjoyed, so when I was able to be involved in the produced I was the happiest. To add on this work's pilot series voicing is being done by my friend, so there deffinitely must have been an edge [to him]. Except if I were to do it, I deffinitely thought I would be Shiro, so honestly I was surprised when they said I was Kuro.

The exception
The incident of a sickness that's origination is unknown.

When we were filming "Kiroii Namida," I was inflicted by severe headache, throat aches, and pains in my eyes. Even though I went to the hopsital and got shots I still didn't get better. It was really excruciating I didn't know what to do. But in order to experiement I ate some pain medicine from the market and within the blink of an eye I became refreshed! I began to think that you can't look down upon the medicine at the market (laughs).

JUN

Incident 1
The incident I thought I might just die.
As hard as it was I equally earned something as well.

The butai "白夜の女騎士" was very tiring. It's been awhile since I've used my body like this while having no energy, so I would have died if I did a bit more (bitter laugh). But, thanks to this I started to think, "If I can overcome this, I think I can do anything from now on," therefore this may have been 2006 biggest learning experience.

Incident 2
The incident where all of us continously together.
After May there were many times the 5 of us got together.

After releasing Kittou Daijobu in May, many times the 5 members were together. There were rehearsals for the movie as well as the live, and the Asia tour...and in between those times there were a lot of selected material that the 5 of us had to do, so the image of us being together always. The first half [of the year] was more focused on the butai and individual activities so I might think this even more do to that.

Incident 3
The incident where we kept having lives.
The time frame and the number of performance, the longest in history!

In 2006 the summer tour was 2 months, and afterwards there was also the Asia tour, so the live timeframe was really long...not to mention, we also did 3 performances a day! The thing that is amazing, is that that many people were able to come see Arashi. That makes me really happy.

Incident 4
The incident I wanted to do a little bit more.
The appearance of the 5 of us in the movie is little.

For the movie 'I love my little sister,' there were lots of instances where they cut apart the simplest details, so it was a very refreshing surroundings. This year there was also a movie with all 5 of us. But still, this production had only a small amount of appearance scenes, so if possible I think I would have like to have been a bit more involved.

Incident 5
The incident where I'll deffinitely continue.
I went to the beach a few times but...

In 2006 I went surfing 5-6 times, which I had started in 2005. But still, I'm not getting any better like before. Well, since it's not something that's going to happen so easily. I think the biggest allure for surfing is like, "Don't take nature so easily!" factor.

The exception
The incident we were 4 member for a little bit.
We surely are Arashi because there are 'five'!

When I heard we would be 4 member for a bit while Nino went to LA, honestly I thought "Really?" But still, Nino's challenge would also be a plus for the group, but in the end despite doing activites as 4 members, when we became 5 members again I felt "strength" due to the fact that we were a group above all that.

AIBA

Incident 1
The incident the 5 of us became leads in awhile.
It was left as a work of of Director Inudo and Arashi.

From 'Pikanchi2' to 'Yellow Tears,' Arashi was able to film a 5 member lead in 2 years. Typically in 2006, there were many times all of the members were together, but out of those time, I think it's a big thing that we were able to leave a work like the one we did this time. Also being able to work with Director Inudo was also stimulating.

Incident 2
The incident I was only called my name.
Surprised that they spoke to me.

When I went to Asia, I was the only one called by my [last] name (laughs). Well, although it was surprising I was known internationally, but at the airport I laughed a bit because they called me "Aiba!" Now that I think about it, when we were eating at Taiwan, when we were leaving I heard the worker say "Aibaba, bye bye." (bitter laugh) What do you mean Aibaba............!

Incident 3
The incident I rode a kite.
The fright when falling is beyond imagination.

I rode a big kite for the 'G no Arashi' special, and I can't forget floating in the air. Since there is no experience riding a kite until now (bitter laugh). That is, rather than going in the air falling was definitely scarier. The reason is because the falling speed is no joke. I even think I was good at returning alive without any wounds.

Incident 4
The incident the bird wasn't able to fly.
I was supposed to fly far but 10 meters below.

For the 'Mago Mago' special I experience being a bird man, which was also left a very deep impression for me. That bird was first off supposed to fly more than 100m, but why is it that day the record was 60cm....thanks to almost falling straight down from 10m high, I received a lot of that shock, so my hand and feet were covered in wounds (bitter laugh).

Incident 5
The incident of X-MEN.
Africa was far...

For the 2nd time I went to Africa for 'Shimura's Zoo.' In Africa you can see the horizon, and in the night sky you can see the sky filled with stars, so it's a great place but....anyway it's far! Since it takes 20 hours by plane. Thanks to that I watched the movie 'X-MEN' twice (bitter laugh).

The exception
The incident where money is precious.
I'm sucked into a game I've bene longing for!
When I went to a game center for the first time in a long while with my little brother, there was a game console from a long time ago that was an enlarged version set up. I tried it, and I had missed it and it was so fun, but when I came to my sense, with the blink of an eye 3 hours had gone by. I had invested a lot of money. Even though I have more money than when I was in elementary school, I was reflecting how I had used too much.

Arashi Newspaper Vol 1 2000/04

interviewer (st): what kind of role will arashi take if u guys were family ?
ohno: (immedietly) aiba-chan is the ka-chan (mother) sho-kun is to-chan (father) nino is the older brother and matsujun is the younger brother. and i..........don't exist.
all: nandedayo ! (why ?!)
ohno: fine, then im ji-chan (grandpa)
sakurai: i agree with matsujun being the younger brother.
matsumoto: aiba-kun is mother-like too. (me: i cannot believe jun is calling aibachan, aiba-kun lol)
aiba: then im the mother!
st: so nino is the older brother role ?
ninomiya: i guess if they say so...ill take it.
matsumoto: why am i the younger brother ?
ninomiya: well, you always try to play the younger brother role anyway.....
st: so, if u were a girl, who would you go out with amongst the member ?
sakurai: that's a hard one......
ohno: (immdietly) aiba-kun ! he's like a older brother.
sakurai: u just said he was like a mother !!!
ninomiya: yeah ji-chan (grandpa) did you loose memory already ?!
ohno: well, fine, because i feel like i can rely on him without doubt.
aiba: i pick sho-kun ! because he's kakkoi ! (good looking)
sakurai: what a random reason to pick me...(lol)
aiba: you are like a older brother too ! <3
ninomiya: ill pick aiba-chan too. you don't have to be serious around him.
matsumoto: i pick ohno-kun. if im with him, i won't be bored.
sakurai: i pick...........aiba-kun !!!
aiba: yataaaa ~ (yay) we're in love ! <3
sakurai: you can rely on him.....mosttimes.....sometimes.....
st: so aibachan, how do you feel when people say they can rely on you ?
aiba: ..............(doesnt answer)
sakurai: they are asking you ! this guy, never listens to what people say.....
aiba: i agree (lol) and i want to change it.
matsumoto: okay okay, moving on....what do u want to ask us now ?
st: okay next question....would you rather date someone younger than you, or someone older than you ?
matsumoto: older !
aiba: i agree (tries to enter the conversation)
st: why do you want to date someone older aibachan ?
aiba: ....................
sakurai: he just said it randomly so he doesn't have a proper reason......(cries)
st: okay, so when you think about it for real, which one do you rather prefer ?
aiba: same age
ninomiya: aibasan, its EITHER older or younger. two to select from.
aiba: well, i thought i want to marry someone the same age as me....
sakurai: you never change.....(cries)

Dr.Arashi's heart <3 problem solving ! (2001/03)

st: how do you make a good impression to ur classmates on the first day of school ?
sakurai: well, when you introduce your self to the class, you can't be dull......you can't be too hyper tho, its a turn off if u're a girl.
aiba: really ? i like people like that. saying jokes and stuff.
ninomiya: joke ?! what kinda joke ?!
aiba: YOROCHIKUBI ! (chikubi = nipples)
all: laughs
matsumoto: you know, if people don't think u're funny at that point, ur highschool life is over. for 3years, ur nickname will be "chikubi" lol
ninomiya: people who want to be liked by aiba-kun should do it as a challenge.
st: from a guys point of view, what should girls be careful durning their school life ? would you be dissapointed if a girls desk was messy ?
ninomiya: not really....i don't even mind if there's old bread (=pan) in their desk.
sakurai: really ?! that will totally ruin my view of the girl.
ninomiya: well, i had old food in my desk all the time. and i never washed my school shoes. for 3years.
ohno: when i was in middleschool.........i didn't shower for 5 days straight......
ninomiya: me, 3days ! (smiling)
ohno: i didn't want my hair to be wet, so i thought it will be puffy if i didn't shower, but instead, it became really stiff and hard.
ninomiya: i didn't even take off my school uniform for 3days straight.....i didn't shower and i slept in uniform....woke up, went to school with it.....
sakurai: i didn't know i was in such a group...........
st: so who will prefer the desk to be clean ?
sakurai: me me !
aiba: of course !
matsumoto: being clean is very important !
sakurai: yeah....i feel the same. i just wonder why they are okay with having old pan in their desk....i wonder if it doens't bother them.....
ninomiya: well, i dont like hamiPAN*
sakurai: hamipan ?! why the sudden change of topic ?
matsumoto: "pan" connection lol
ninomiya: this girl you like, would be running during PE, and you looks closely, and they are hamipan-ing. and the next second i will be hating her.
aiba: ah ~ i agree.
matsumoto: i can forgive hamipan, but i can't forgive bra's showing under thin cloth like shirts.
sakurai: why ?! (seems to strongly disagree)
ninomiya: i think you are being too harsh since you go to a co-ed school
matsumoto: i think its a manner to cover up with a undershirt.
ninomiya: around me, the only thing you can seethrough under a school uniform is a guys nipples......majide.....my god is yorochikubi....
aiba: hey ! you used it ! lol but i quite like suke-bra too (bra seethrough)
st: and you ohno-kun ?
ohno: i liked it after swimming classes, girls wear their uniform with wet hair....and they tie their hair loosely....
sakurai: and the change in topic....again lol
matsumoto: but i agree with the wet hair. lol
ohno: they have towels on their sholder and its cute
st: how about hamipan ohnokun ?
ohno: hamipan.....(thinks)
matsumoto: but cute girls don't hamipan....they be careful.....
sakurai: hey...........what IS hamipan by the way ?
aiba: you don't know sho-kun ?!
sakurai: (aiba explains what hamipan is)........and why is hamipan bad ?! (strongly disagrees again)
ninomiya: you don't understand because you've never seen it. its really....random and the only person who doensn't know is themselves.
ohno: during swimming class, there was a girl i thought who was quite cute, but then she had her nose running.......and then my feelings blew away....
sakurai: you have to listen to other people too ohnokun....orz

*hamipan = school girls in japan wear this thing called buruma (search on google) during PE and its basically a bigger version of a underwear lol which you wear on top of ur underwear.....and sometimes the underwear sticks out of the buruma....by accident....and people call it hamipan (hami = stickout pan = pantsu)

Edit: I gave the credits to the wrong source XD ahahah... gomen ne. I got this from Junko_Arasick's Live Journal xd gomen gomen!

Nino's answers in the first two interviews made me laugh. I also loved when they were talking about messy desks, and Nino and Ohno were both talking about how messy they were in school. They remind me of a lot of people I know.

Popolo Feb 07 - Aiba chan

"When we get married lets go camping"
There isn’t anything particular when you ask what factors I look for with marriage. I see marriage at the top of the list when it comes to love. I think it would be good if you could do housework. I put cooking and cleaning on my checklist but even so, I don’t expect a high level. Even if you cant do it at the beginning, there are those who improve with practice.
I think it is really important, whether it a girlfriend or wife, that we can have a really fun time together. So, id possible it would be nice if you coud join me in my games. If you could play golf, go camping and come drinking with me then it would definitely appeal to me. It doesn’t matter if you cant drink. As long as you want to come and have a fun time that’s fine. For that reason I said I liked someone who likes a challenge. To me, someone who has ‘good balance over everything’ is really important. I don’t really like people who are like ‘ I can only do this’ or ‘ I only like this’.
I don’t have a great walk and I drag my feet across the floor so my eyes, I think, would naturally look at a girl who had a really nice walk. Also, I don’t like people who have nails that are too long. I think nail art is ok but I don’t think its good if you cant open a can of juice cos of your nails. Also, I have many DVDS of anime at home so I would like someone who would understand them. You wont have to watch them with me but I would like you to not take the piss out of me and just watch over me (laughs).

Advantages if you marry Aiba chan
1. Can go to zoo’s with a free pass – Because I go to many zoos for work, I will take you around the entire world. When I say free pass, I was exaggerating. Im not that famous yet so I will have to secretly bribe them (laughs).
2. I will do BBQ’s for you – When we do BBQ’s at camp, I will make a fire for you. And I will cook and serve all the meat and vegetables for you. But, if you can I would prefer if you put up the tent (laughs).
3. I will play with you LOADS! – I am confident that I can raise any atmosphere. Even if we are alone, I will keep you entertained as if we were with loads of people. It might be quite fun if we went to a bar , just the two of us (laughs).
4. I will buy you gifts - Cos I go to loads of different places for work, I will always bring you something back. For example yummy foods from that place and I will buy you t-shirts that match with the other arashi members (laughs).
5. I will do anything for you - I want to do anything I can for you. I would like to be able to do anything my wife wants. For example, if my wife wants me to wake her up in the morning, I’m not great in the mornings but I will try my best.

The Marriage Partner Conditions Checklist 20:
1. Cleaning is your specialty.
2. You can be considerate.

10. You don't decorate yourself.
11. Sometimes you decorate yourself. (...uhhh...^^ wink
12. The way you walk is pretty,
13. You can drink sake.
14. Your nails are short.
15. You can go camping.
16. You have a lot of friends.
17. You have a good balance no matter what you're involved with.
18. You like anime.
19. You like movie masterpieces.
20. You're tough.

Okay Arashi-ans! Here is the rest of the POPOLO Feb 07 Interviews!!

MEGUMI! This is for you! With Jun, you will be able to go to SPACE! XD hahah...

Popolo Feb 07 - Matsumoto Jun;

[I want to marry someone who has strong immunity due to good health!]
The Matsumoto with the slightly dangerously sexy atmosphere floating about him. Although he is youngest among
Arashi, he talked about his super private ideals for a marriage partner.

- I want to keenly sense the conditions surrounding me.
For me an essential thing is "it feels good to be with you". Since that's something I judge with my own senses,
it's not something I can tangibly define. However, at any rate, if there isn't something that tugs at my antenna,
then it's impossible for there to be anything further ne.
"Able to see people's actions" is also extremely important. For example, when eating dinner with a large group,
there are people who don't pay any attention to those around right? Someone who can't seem to take the slightest
care for their surroundings, that's definitely impossible for me ne. I dislike the so-called thickheaded people.
Things like the changing seasons, a solitary flower blooming in the concrete...the people who can unmissably catch
those kind of things are good. And I think people who can express the feelings they're embracing at that moment
in various words are fascinating. Although it's also good to express it exactly the way you feel it, being able
to express it well with delicate nuances, people who have a beautiful method of that expression are superb. On
top of that, a rich vocab ulary is necessary. For the sake of that it's necessary to read books, to know the arts
ne.
Although from this way of speaking you would think I like smart, perfect people, it is necessary after all for
people to have 'minus' elements. It's for that reason that I put in the "there are bad parts of your personality"
item. Since the ones who have [This is kind of diffcult huh~] type parts, in terms of people, are the ones who
seem interesting (laughs).
Nevertheless, the conditions I have raised this time are super high level, if I do say so myself. If there happens
to be someone who fulfills all of them, I would by all means like you to introduce yourself ne (laughs).

If you were to marry me, there would be these privileges!
1. Your friends would increase
Because I would introduce ytou to my friends, inevitably your friends would increase. Because if my friends became
my wife's friends then we could all have fun together ne. Rather than go have fun on my own, I'd rather go
together.
2. Your amiability will get better
If your friends increase, then your "opportunities to talk with various people will increase" for sure. Consequently,
without a doubt your personality will become on with good amiablity. Surely youwould be able to become a person like me,
who treasures the time spent with friends (laughs).
3. You'd get better at quarrels
I'm the type where "if you say that, I'll say this". Therefore, if you were to live with me at some point you would
be able to train, you would surely become fairly eloquent. Then we could even have a quarreling contest about once
a week? (laughs)
4. You would be able to eat delicious things
After marriage as well, sometimes I'd take you out to eat delicious things. Since I have many friends I believe
I know a few good restaurants. Going to a superb restaurant for our anniversary would be too ne.
5. You might be able to go on a space trip?!
Because, I myself have an interest in going on a trip to space, I think I want to go there someday ne. But the travel
expenses are probably extreme huh~. If the two of us went it seems like it would be an enormous expense......
If possible I'd like a sponsor ne (painful laugh).

Dear Stars! 2006
Full of love from Popolo
Challenging himself to be postive
In May, while there were ongoing performances of his play [Night of the Valkyries], Matsumoto-san talked about how
much trouble it was for body and mind as well. But when we asked him, [If you were to perform it again?] , [I'd
definitely want to do it] was his immediate reply. That's the Matsumoto-san who's continuing to constantly challenge
himself to be positive. The anticipation is also great for his new drama [Hana yori Dango 2 (returns)]!!

Profile

Okay, now this one's for you, Serenah!! (^o^) Do you have a driver's license?

Popolo Feb 07- Sho

‘ I wouldn’t be able to marry a girl without manners’
I think the main point would have to be someone who has the same values as me. I think it would really depend on this, and I wouldn’t be able to start a family with someone who has different values to me. I mean we would have trouble with finding conversation. I mean it would be awful if you said ‘ This really funny thing happened to me today…’ and the other person didn’t find it at all funny (laughs).
Also I would like someone who gets along with family. Someone who takes care of and gets along with people from current family would probably trasue the family they make with me. Also someone who has no manners is not good. A girl who suddenly spoke to one of my senpais in slang would be……..i need someone who understands that relationship.
Also if I could drink with you it would be nice. Even if you cant drink, someone who has the same energy as me would be fine. Even if you can take your alcohol, its fine. I have confidence that I wont loose (laughs). Also someone who has lots of sociable friends would be a plus. I like someone who is likes by colleagues, but I don’t mind if you have a lot of guy friends too. Because I would trust you…..which is kinda of a lie (laughs)…but I really I don’t mind if you had a lot of guy friends. Because someone who has is probably someone who had appeal as a human. I think it is impotant we can enjoy the same sort of atmosphere. Then we could collaborate with each others friends. If possible it would be nice to listen to ‘Fight Song’ and arouse the atmosphere! (laughs).

Advantages if you marry Sho :
1. I will take you on holiday – at the Sakurai household, every summer we used to go on holiday so when I get married I wanna go on family holidays often. Whether that is within japan or international, if you tell me where you wanna go I will take you there.
2. I will take videos – I f we go on holiday, we would have to keep our memories on video right. I will take the video for you. Even on holiday with friends, I an always filming(laughs). If I take the video I will also edit it.
3. I will look good when I eat- I am one of those people who eats a lot. People tell me my reaction to good food is really good. Im sure when I eat my wifes meals I will eat it with a look of happiness.
4. I will do celebrations properly – I will make sure we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries every year. Sometimes on MMA filmings, we meet granddads who havnt ever celebrates their wifes birthday, but I am going to give presents every year.
5. I will try and drive you around as much as possible – When we are on holiday, it would be nice if we could swap driving, which is why I put ‘has a license’ on my checklist. But I will try and drive as much as possible. I will try and pick you up and drive you places as much as possible.

The Marriage Partner Conditions Checklist 20:
1. Cooking is your specialty.
2. You can divide up the garbage. (Between burnable and unburnable, recyclable, etc....^^ wink
3. We have the same values.
4. You get along well with your family.
5. You know etiquette.
6. You're able to treat feelings of thanks preciously.
7. You have a wide outlook.
8. You can drink sake.
9. You're sociable.
10. You like congeniality.
11. Our harmony matches.
12. You treat work importantly.
13. You have a driver's license.
14. You have points that you won't compromise on.
15. You like music.
16. You like children.
17. Your smile is cute.
18. You're positive.
19. You still use the bathtub even in the summer.
20. You can stop fights.

Diagnostic Result: You and Sho's marriage compatability is?
Number of checks 0~5.....Marriage Compatability 25% - The connection with you is still developping ne.
Number of checks 6~12....Marriage Compatability 50% - It seems like you will be very good as friends.
