is it me or does every spriter here uses Megaman, Fire Emblem, Sonic, and Mario sprites?

hello what about Fighting Games? they have made the best 2D sprites around, I dare you to find a 2D sprite game with better graphics then Street Fighter III:3rd Strike, haven't seen 3rd Strike graphics? well here's the Tougeki Super Battle Opera 2004 semi finals and finals

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0lriMJSe7M

and don't say any n00b comments saying, oh thats easy to do, cause its not, you can't just button mash and expect to win.

But yeah back on topic, how come no one uses fighting game sprites? you have plenty to choose from, from Samurai Showdown to Marvel vs Capcom 2

Hey my newest update has a sprite of Zero from Capcom vs SNK and I'm going to do more, I need to get more emulators for ripping so I don't have to use credit though

let me correct you, thats Zero from SNK vs Capcom, Zero was never in Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK Pro, or Capcom vs SNK 2, There's a huge difference, SNK vs Capcom was made by SNK, the rest made by Capcom, although SNK did the sprites in Capcom style for CvS1 and CvS2. You may not think this is much of a difference but you will be flamed by fans if you say they are the same.

And Use Arcade version, SNES/Genesis ports suck, and need help setting up Kawaks, MAME, or Neo Geo on your comp for the emulators?

You don't need to be all "know-it-all" about the order of the game name... it's not THAT important. Sorry, but that just bugged me.

And actually, I use Sailor Moon sprites from the fighting games for the SNES.

Because FE, Megaman, Sonic, and Mario all have relatively small sprites, the largest being from Sonic. Fighting sprites are much, much, much larger, and as a result, that much harder to do. I'd do fighter sprites, but I am lazy.

To SNK fans it is, they like credit where credit is due to SNK, things are just like that.

Wait Sailor Moon had an SNES Fighting game!? I know they had a beat-em-up (Final Fight/Ninja Turtles style) but I didn't know about a fighting game.

MAME but not Kawak's, MAME is arcade emulator, so is Kawaks but focused more on fighting games (for example MAME can't run Virtua Fighter 4, Kawaks can I think), and Neo Geo is very very rare, but I have a complete set of every game ever made for the Neo Geo console/arcade (cause the Cartridges for the Neo Geo were the same used in the arcade, thats why it was so powerful and still used all the way up till 2004)

any fighting game where you can fire ball spam, is to me, not worth playing
(and yes, that has ruled out Street Fighter and KOF a LONG time ago)

I am more of a combo person
I still play Guilty Gear, and the only way that saved itself from being on my ban list were the IKO

Anywho, honestly to say, IR REALLY DOES NOT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SPRITE. Honestly to say, you should not be challenging people to do whatever just b/c you don't see it happening

well theres a different's between spamming and tactical usage, in KoF no one spams, I have never seen a spammer in KoF, all of them loose easily, in SF the pro's tactically spam Hadouken's I've seen a Ryu player in SFII at the EVO2K6 fire literally 10-20 Hadouken's in under 3 seconds (thats faster then the normal human), And in SFIII spamming is impossible, I doubt you played it. Alpha is where Hadouken spamming is used tactically, used for juggling, especially with Ryu and Akuma.

Combo's are very good in Guilty Gear, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Capcom vs SNK 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, KoF 2002, 2003, XI, and Neowave, Melty Blood:AC, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

Well I'd just like to see it done, not everyone can use Megaman and Fire Emblem sprites, cause that would make this guild rather boring and nearly pointless.

In game talk:
Yea, however, I don't play against "tournament" level players, nor do I play much. Therefore, tactical useage and spamming, to me, seems the same. Be advised, I come from a Soul Calibur/Tekken background, meaning no projectile spamming. Yes, I don't play SFIII, but I have seen it. And honestly to say, I am not that impressed (then again, I am not an SF person...)

In the game of combo, you missed Soul Calibur (and yes, I do combos), and Tekken. I used to play Bloody Roar... As well SSBM, but I don't call it a real fighting game. But that's another story.

To Spriting:
The thing is, I don't care who uses what sprites. People have been using many different sprites from different games. I went from FE to Pokemon, and now I am on the Tales series. The fact is, FE is a simpler sprite than Guilty Gear sprites, so it's easily customizable (if you see some of my custom mugs and if you seen my Kenshin and Soujiro single sprites). Like, I am not confident to even customize Jam Kurodoberry (especially her hair style, and maybe her cloths).

I think that's the problem here, not that we want to, more like the difference of can/could

Yay for Soul Calibur! I forget the name of my favorite person but she uses Tonfa and has some long combos if you use her right, I can never seem to pull of combos in tekken or virtua fighter, but I do loves me Bloody Roar and the very cheap combos that can be pulled off with Alice and her high jumps.

Well tell me you saw the EVO2K4 Finals Justin vs Daigo? amazing Daigo perfect countered the entire super art.

And I was refering to only 2D fighters, Tekken is really big on combo's, the Soul series, not so much. SSBM has crazy combo videos, especially the Falco ones. Virtua Fighter is my favorite 3D fighter though, it isn't very big on combo's, well not as big as Tekken, but its more about strategy and speed.

Ah well Fighting game sprite edits for me usually take 2 hours depending on what I'm editing, and thats with paint, with photoshop it takes only 10 minutes.

To that, I say bull (meaning you haven't seen me play Kilik or Soul 2 Talim)
