Welcome to Harry Potter Years Ahead This RP is taking place after Harry and his friends left Hogwarts. When you are creating a character it has to be made up, but you can be a kid to the Harry Potter crew. Teachers as well. (Remember they can get old, so they can get kids even if they're...well, old. You can even be a kid to for example Molly and Arthur.) We will have teachers and some classes with quizes. We will grade the Hogwarts way. Maybe we'll even have a small essay. To be a teacher you will have to ask me and pmarsala311. We are the Gods, we can change anything the way we want it. Don't try to mess with us. We have decided that Snape did never kill Dumbledore. Both are alive. If you'd like to be potions teachers you are very welcomed to be Snape. The other teacher (Slughorn) might still work on the school, it depends what you say/who you want to be. If you think you can handle more that one character, fine, but please not more than 2-3. That's just confusing. Different color on the text for different characters, and you can not be a teacher and a student. Because then you can cheat on the tests, and we don't like cheating. Rules:A few parents who can't be split up. stare Hermione and Ron. (Don't try anything else.) Harry and Ginny. And parents that already are together can't be seperated, like Arthur and Molly chibi_chan and pmarsala311 are GODS! WE ARE THE J.K ROWLINGS! Nyaaaah~! (Well, more like Dessie's the conscience and Chibi's the actual god... ~Dessie)If you have any questions, just pm me or Dessie (pmarsala311). That's all for now.

I was wondering- should we put up something about what's happening in this universe? You know what's changed and what's not from canon to here. Deaths, events, etc. That type of thing, that way we aren't contradicting each other when we post and we can also plan out our storylines much better. Fore example, a certain character death completely ruined a storyline I was half thinking of for my character. I think it would be helpful!

Er...hey Super...Maybe this is one of the mistakes, but I noticed that your character is described as being half blood, but her parents are both magic...whats up with that?

heh, its fine, mess ups are understandible...but I think that your character may be a tad bit too perfect....first off, she has a large and small body, which doesn't make sense, and thick, brown hair. apparently guys are very attracted to her. Second, she is amazingly good at quidditch. This makes sense, seeing as her parents are both in quidditch, but combined with my next point, she becomes...well...you'll see... Third, She is popular and kind. EVERYBODY likes her, and shes just a generally nice, popular person. And to top it all off, shes an animagi. I understand that you want to make your character a better version of yourself, but there is such a thing as going to far. NOBODY is that perfect. She is a Mary Sue.(dun dun dunnnn) KagekaNecavi Mary/Gary Sues – Why They Should Die A Mary and Gary Sue is, basically, a perfect character. The term is also applied to fan fiction, though I’m not sure who used it first – fan fiction authors or RPers. The best, and most common, example of a Mary Sue (the female form of the Beast) is the tall, skinny, blonde, smart, rich woman or girl. Gary Sues are the same thing, but with men. They are HORRIBLE characters. Not only does playing a Sue show that you are such a bad writer that you are incapable of creating a better character, but it also shows that you are likely just as shallow as the Sue. There are other kinds of characters along that same level. I’ve never heard them referred to as any kind of Sue, but they are also the bane of your existence and must be avoided at all costs. They are the really stereotypical characters. For example, you have a geek character who has a pocket protector, bad acne even though he should have grown out of it by now, is incapable of having a conversation with a normal person, gets beat up all the time but never fights back, and has absolutely no athletic skill whatsoever. Or you have a stereotypical goth or emokid. Those stereotypes do not occur often in the world, but so many of them run around RP forums. exclaim There is, however, one exception to the rule. Parodies. When you’re making fun of the goth or emokid. When you’re taking a stab at the perfect cheerleader. When you’re doing it just for laughs. A forum like that will likely have a warning at the beginning saying it’s a parody, but sometimes they don’t. Now, how do you get around those bad characters? When you first think of your first character, base it around someone you know. If you want your character to be a computer geek, find one you know and base it around him. For example, most of the really geeky computer guys at my school are actually fairly skilled athletically. Two of them are cross-country stars, and quite a few of the rest of them are good martial artists. They’re also good to talk to, and most actually have fairly clear skin. That’s not your stereotypical geek at all, but those people are still geeks. Another good way of getting around a bad character is to make a perfect character, then cut away at them and make them imperfect. Slice off some of their physical perfections and do the same with their personality. Take the tall, skinny blonde I mentioned in the first paragraph and make her a klutz, annoying to be around, and quite a bit of an airhead. Or do something different to make the character more human. PLEASE NOTEThis excerpt (from, a basic introduction to Role Playing) is rather harsh, and I am sorry for picking on Super, but please understand that I am trying to give constructive critisism. Also, I am nitpicking more for the greater good. I am trying to let everyone know about these things, in hopes that we can all become better RPers. I apologize once again for being mean...I don't mean to hurt anyones feelings!
