I've been thinking, (which I have a bad habit of constantly doing rofl ) and... well, there's been so many quotes in my life that stick with me, in my morals and have changed my outlook on life, a lot... a while ago, I probably woulden't be here if my friend corey woulden't have said "suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems." sweatdrop
and there are countless other quotes that I know that I don't really have time RIGHT NOW to type out, but I'll write them down when I have a chance and then I'll post them.
'til then, I hope that you can post any quote that has help you in any way in your life, or more preferably, something that has inspired you in the field of parapsychology, magick, psionics and so-forth.

"Anything is Possible, maybe not probable, but still possible!"

One that has a lot of meaning to my life:
"No price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."

"The irrationality of a thing is no argument against its existence, rather a condition of it."

"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

"It is nobler to declare oneself wrong than to insist on being right - especially when one is right."

the last four are all by Nietzsche

Is there a limit to how many I am allowed to post?
PostPosted: Tue Nov 14, 2006 9:22 pm

One, of course there is no limit, and two:

Mmmmmmmmm... Nietzsche. Love him.

"Do not pray! If you pray your hands will close together; you will not be able to fight. "- Gatts (Berserk Manga actually lol)

That one makes alot of sense to me, I mean...people are constantly turning to their God(s)/Goddess(') when something goes wrong instead of just standing up and fighting for themselves for once.

This seems to peg me pretty well with what is going to undoubtedly be an ever-inflating book collection. Eh... except for the beard part.

"Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them."

"Fundamentally, the marksman aims at himself." - Zen koan of Kyudo Archery

"If a man wishes to be sure of the road on which he treads, he must close his eyes and walk in the dark."

"Be a master of mind, rather than mastered by mind."

"Men acquire a particular quality by constantly acting a particular way... you become just by performing just actions, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave actions."

It seems much of my moral learning has been through realizations and not sudden insight from hearing a quote ^^;; I seem to have a way of learning things the hard way (or watching others learn the hard way and figuring it out from them). Although at times I've heard a quote that sums up my beliefs, and so I'll post these 3nodding

"When a problem lacks solution, worrying solves nothing. When a problem has solution, there's no need to worry."

"He who puts himself at the top is placed at the bottom- yet he who places himself at the bottom is left at the bottom."

"Aim for the stars and you'll at least hit the atmosphere."

"There's no meaning to life other than to give life meaning."

And then one that always turned over in my head:

"To know the value of a year, ask a student who failed an exam.
To know the value of a month, ask a mother of a pre-mature child.
To know the value of a week, ask an editor of a weekly magazine.
To know the value of a day, ask a personal who is terminally ill.
To know the value of an hour, ask a departing loved one in an airport.
To know the value of a minute, ask someone who has missed their plane.
To know the value of a second, ask someone who lost a loved one in an accident.
To know the value of a millisecond, ask a silver medalist in the olympics."

3nodding Basically- try harder than your best, accomplish your best, don't be upset if you accomplish less than your best, value every moment, and never try to surpass anyone but yourself.

Some that I thought of:

"The darkness of the Earth surrounds and confines me, yet it also sets me free."

"It's funny how the one you love breaks your heart, and yet you still love them."

yes, but... this is SERIOUS quotes sweatdrop
things that can be used to help someone... like someone says "I'm suicidal, I hate myself and I want to die" you can either think about it and finally get ready to discuss something with them, and by then they're either dead or faking... or you could say "suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems" and it's quite inspiring 3nodding
