The Guild's Perpetual Story

Due to the possibility of complete confusion and insanity, I require you to read this post before even looking at the rest of the thread.

The perpetual story idea is something I am sure most of you will be familiar with. People just keep adding new paragraphs, and thus it never ends. However, as it'll make little sense if everyone posts willy-nilly, I have rules - more like a guide, really. Here's how this is going to work.

1. I will provide an opening paragraph to a story. Just one paragraph.
   
2. You will PM me the next paragraph, as written by you. Just one paragraph.
   
3. Of all the paragraphs submitted in a fortnight, I will choose the best and print it up as the next part of the story. The winning writer gets credit, and 100g.
   
4. You will PM me the next paragraph, as written by you. Just one paragraph.
   
5. Of all the paragraphs submitted in a fortnight, I will choose the best and print it up as the next part of the story. The winning writer gets credit, and 100g.
   
6. Repeat steps two and three ad naseum.

There will be no posting in this thread. All entries and queries should be PMd to me.

I encourage everyone to have a try! It's only one paragraph, after all! Oh, and if you are wondering - yes, spelling and grammar will play a part, but only when two or more entries are tied.
