It had finally come to fruition. It was round 2 of the tournament, but it still seemed very much a blur what had occured during the first round. If her memory served her correctly her first match had come about far from her liking.
Though she had won, it felt like a victory substandard to how she wish to portay her skills. Her wish was to further bind together her magical prowess with martial arts skill. Still they seemed to be 2 seperate entities, often working against one another. Hopefully with this match, this would end she would be proud of her performance.
Perched upon the tiled floors of the Orions arena she sat as if meditating in wait of her opponent Jade. Though they were on good terms as far as she could tell, they had rarely spoken to one another for more than trivial pleasantries. Other than knowing the other women's ancestry, there was little else she knew.
Smirking to herself she fingered the staff that lay splayed across her lap. Reacting to her touch runes momentarily glowed into existence, each vanishing before a spell could activate.
Forgoing her usual mage's robes she wore a simple chinese styled martial arts robes with a long slit at the hip for free movement. Bound about her forearms he tied fine pieces of mana treated cloth spiraled in way that was popular amongst magic users. It was supposed to aid in the flow of mana but for the most part it acted as a fashion statement.
In a surprising twist (Most likely more to herself) she had decided to wear contacts lenses as to see if they suited her for activities such as this. Taking a deep breath she felt the anticipation inch its way up her spine as she waited in silence.
Hope all this training actually amounted to something.
Closing her eyes she attempted to meditate in order to calm her nerves.
Now or never...

Epithany didn't have to wait long for her opponent to show up. Though Jade had been preoccupied as of late with everything that had been happening to Deity, she still managed to find time to keep training, even if she didn't have a training partner.
The young woman didn't enter the stadium with any fanciness or flare, she jsut walked in with her jeans and tank top on, along with some black goves on her hands up to her mid forearm with the fingers exposed. Her long brown tail was curled up neatly around her waist.
"Hello Epithany.....good day for a battle, wouldn't you say...?" She seemed in high spirits, as it was with all Saiya-jins before a fight, as she climbed up into the ring and over to face her opponent at a few paces.
Jade held out her hand, a smile upon her face. "Good luck to you, my friend."

Sensing Jade's arriving mana signature she rose to her feet waving amiably at the other woman. Nodding in agreement she smiled broadly. Mumbling a phrase absent-mindedly her staff vanished in a slight crackle of static.
"Yeah, this is as good as any day. I've really been looking foward to this tournament match. I can't say I have really fought any of the other woman in the club save for Red."
Accepting the handshake she proceeded to step back a pace bowing.
"Thank you, good luck to you as well. I guess I'll open..."

Backflipping to gain some distance she landed in a crouch touching her fingertips to the arena floor. Closing her eyes she began to chant in a indiscernable tongue a blue glow beginning to build beneath her touch.
In the next moment a wave of arching energy arose from the ground 1 meter in height rushing from her postion. Cascading across the ground it proceeded to gather speed blanketing the arena floor exuding a light crackle of energy disspating at the rings edge
What she had casted would not be readily known, but it would give anyone in its path a case of severe hot foot.

Jade smiled back at Epithany before letting it fade slightly as the match began. While she didn't know much about Epithany herself, Jade knew enough about the woman's fighting style that distant combat wasn't a viable option. To have a chance at this, it would have to be close-quarters.
Jade moved almost immediatly after Pith did, running towards her opponent. She went to close the gap between them as soon as possible. Her ears twitched slightly at the sound of Pith's voice in a strange language, and she prepared.
As the energy arch approached her rapidly, Jade jumped up about 10 meters to gain some height and speed, and to avoid the attack. As she came down, Jade extended her right foot down and aimed towards the back part of Pith's head, hoping to knock her head forwards.
Succeed or fail, Jade would go to land behind the woman facing away from her, and to swing her right leg out again to take out Pith's legs in a sweep kick.

Timing her movements she proceeded to rock foward into a double handplant to evade the kick moments before it would land. Pushing off the ground she launched towards Jade, twisting her body to aim a flying knee towards the other woman's side.

With Pith's reaction, it pulled the woman out of range for Jade's sweep kick. Jade kept her leg going around behind her as she started to stand, pulling her into a spin, balling her left hand into a fist. Turning clock-wise, Jade aimed her fist for the nearest part of Pith, which happened to be the knee aimed at her.
Jade's fist wasn't held like a normal one. The first joint closet to her knuckles was held out, in preparation of her Two Layers technique. If she pulled it off, then likely Pith's kneecap would be shattered. The thrill of battle was intoxicating, and it was pulling the normally sweet Jade in full force, bringing out her battlelust.

Already caught in the spin created by her mid air torso twist, she was impressed to see the Saiya-jin spinning towards her as well. With pin point precision she extended her leg to shift her weight and kick over over top of what appeared to be a punch aimed for her knee.
Regardless of whether the kick landed, she immediately thrust out her palms to push off her opponents momentum and get some distance. She prided herself in still having the instincts of a martial artist despite being a mage.

Jade felt the kick make contact with her face, as she was so close to Pith with her arm extended out. Still with momentum from her initail spin, the kick to the head adds to it, twisting off to the right.
She felt Pith push off of her to gain some distance, and the Saiya-jin twisted around in the air, her tail unwrapping and standing out behind her for balance. Jade landed on all fours low to the ground in a very cat like stance.
The mage was trying to gain distance, possible for a magic attack, and Jade didn't want that. To keep it close would keep it on an even playing field. Plus hand to hand wouldn't allow Epithany to form her seals for magic.
Jade dashed forward, keeping low to the ground until she was about three feet from Pith. Then she lifted up, and aimed for a headbutt to the woman's stomach. Jade kept her arms extended out to either side of her for defense, just in case.

Landing a short distance away she smiled sliding lightly against the ground. Making no attempt to draw any runes she rattled of a phrase in the same tongue she had spoken in earlier . Just as Jade got close a large figure constructed out of dense stone rose from the ground barring her path as well as taking the headbutt.
Unflinching the golem proceeded to come down on the Saiya-jin from above with a double handed hammer blow. Vaulting over the stone construct's shoulder Epithany then followed up with an leg drop.

At the speed she was going, Jade cursed herself as she ran head on into the golem that appeared. She was stunned momentarily from the impact, and then crumpled to the ground from the double handed hit. The Saiya-jin made a mental note that runes were not always needed for Pith it seemed.
Still reeling from the two blows, Jade managed to roll to her right before Piths leg drop could make contact. Rolling about 25 feet, the girl spung up to her feet and closed one eye to focus on her targets. Then she shot both arms forwards with a Tiger Wave from each, one for the golem, one for Pith.

Landing on the ground with her leg drop the tiles shattered from the force of the attack. Rising to her feet shakily she lifted her gaze to her opponent only to witness the 2 approaching blasts of ki.
Outstretching her palm the mage once more began to chant. A few feet in front of her, the ground began to violently crackle with energy. Erupting forth a great geyser of raw mana exploded upward to counter the 2 blasts.
Almost simultameously the horrible crunch of ground being torn away from the Arena floor prempted the terrifying sight of a massive ball of flame rushing towards the Saiya-jin, the boulder partially immolated by way of friction from being thrown through the 2 clashing energies.

The Saiya-jin's eyes widened at the sight of mana erupting from the arena floor to counter her Tiger Waves. Then came the crunching sound again and Jade turned to face the massive ball of flame heading for her. She cursed under her breath and released the beams, leaping away to gain a bit of distance.
She then rolled to her left some distance to move out of the fireballs path before heading towards Epithany again. Jade bobbed and weaved, never giving a clear idea of which way she was heading, while also making herself a more difficult target.
At about 10 feet, Jade ducked down low, firing off another Tiger Wave from her right hand as she closed in. The Wave tore up the tile in front of her, heading for Pith.

Raising an eyebrow at the Saiya-jin's odd darting back and forth she proceeded to summon forth a sphere of mana between her hands carving runes into its surface with her fingertips.
As Jade released her attack, Epithany thrust out the sphere it vanishing before her. Crackling into existence within the path of the tiger wave, the swirling black vortex of a gravity well enacted its effects on the incoming attack causing it to crash violently into the ground coating the arena in a fine cloud of dust and debris.
Cutting through the poor visibility the sound of an enchantation being made could soon be heard. Reversing its flow the gravity well seemed to be violently whipping about the scattered debris and dust in a maelstrom strong enough to make even the smallest particles abrasive. Flying careened through the air even some of the large pieces of damaged arena floor were sent efforftlessly into the air.

Jade immeditatly released the Tiger wave and stood upright, digging her heels into the tiled floor as she launched herself into the air and away from the conflicting attacks, becoming lost in the dust and debris. SHe moved around in the dust, using Epithany's energy signature to keep a lock on her position while dodging the fragments buzzing through the air.
She formed a small ki ball in her left hand and held her arm out, relasing the ball. It didn't move from it's spot, and just hovered in the air. Then Jade turned her body towards the left, so her right side was aimed towards Piths location. She lifted her right hand to her forehead, placcing her index and middle fingers against her skin and charging a giant amount of energy to that point.
Her eyes narrowed as she threw out her arm, locking on to her opponents energy. "Makkenkosappo!!" Two powerful, laser-like enrgy beams shot out of her fingers, one spiralling around the other, cutting a hole through the dust.

Obscured by the heavy dust and debris the mage leaned against the back of the stone golem as the the Ki attack made its approach. Smirking to herself at the display of power that had been shown moments before she shook her head.
This is pitiful. I suppose its about time we upped the ante!
Placing her hand against the Golems back she smiled.
"You've done enough..."
At that moment it was struck with the special beam cannon the attack beginning to bore through the golem's chest. Carving halfaway through through it was dissapated by some unseen force. With no notice the golem crumbled into dust and Epithany and rushed past Jade at an incredible speed standing 5 feet behind the Saiya-jin. Rippling off her finger tips in arching waves was a short trail of energy. Disappating from her path was a trail of fading runic symbols. At this time the maelstrom had ended and the majority of the dust had be guided to Jade by the high speed dash.
"Byakko style Vacuum glaive..."
Relaxing her hand air and ground were slashed violently by 5 unseen blades of compressed air rushing toward Jade as if cut by a sword.
