A while back, I mentioned seeing a burned down building with an All Things Alchemical sign. Since then, I have been trying to gather more info on why it's there.
Some new info turned up tonight.
Following the coast of Bravil to the south, I discovered another burned down structure. No idea what this building used to be, because the items scattered around aren't strongly linked to Alchemy. From it's height, My guess is it's a lighthouse. Or used to be, anyway. sweatdrop There's a Nirnroot there though, if you're interested.
Anyway, I visited the original house and picked up the ingredients that were there. I traced the shop back to Skingrad and looked at the inventory. Each ingredient I had picked up at the house was sold in that shop! This shop in Skingrad was run by a Hlaalu from Morrowind, and with further investigation, a book was discovered on a second floor shelf that has interesting Alchemic lore from Oblivion and Morrowind. I suggest giving it a thorough read. There are two locked barrels that can only be opened with keys up in her storage room. Still can't open them, even after pickpocketing her key. stressed
The only theory I can come up with, given her saying things about how she and her family were chased from Morrowind, is that she tried setting up shop on the road with the burned house but was chased from there too by Hlaalu haters, so she decided to flee to Skingrad.
If anyone has any new info/ideas, please share. I want to get to the bottom of this mystery. 3nodding

For the sake of investigation, you could always use the unlock cheat on those barrels. Unless you have the 360.
Now, then, I'm sure that this is one of those mysteries that there's no true answer to, but it is possible that Ms. Hlaalu burned down the original All Things Alchemical for some reason, in an attempt to murder someone who had wronged her. The Hlaalu are not known for being nice to their enemies. They are not nearly as vindictive as the Telvanni, but they are often a bit more persistant.
Now, considering she's a Necrophile, there could be any number of reasons behind the murder, not the least of which is the one that is clearly implied by this sentence, but I'm not going to say outright for fear of breaking the Rules and Guidelines.
She has a unique voice, so Bethesda could very well have given her a side-story that was not quest-oriented.
However, if I'm not mistaken, the way Alchemy shops work is that the ingredients are determined by your level, and are replenished randomly from a list. Seeing as how I've never tampered with modding the shopkeeping system in Oblivion, however, that's only a guess. So that could just be an ironic coincidence.
Still, I wouldn't put it past her to be a murderer. She seemed innocent, but her speech, especially one particular line, implied the opposite.
What road is the burned All Things Alchemical building on?

What road is the burned All Things Alchemical building on? Those are some good ideas there.O_O I forgot bout the necrophilia thing. Or with the murder theory, it could be that it was a competitor to her own store, so she murdered the owner and burned it down. Then, she changed her store to 'All Things Alchemical' to support herself, since it was a nice enough franchise to burn down. If you take the road south from Bruma, you'll find Roxey Inn. Follow the road east, then follow it south, sooner or later you'll find the burned building. 3nodding

There are burned down buildings and forts all over Cyrodiil, and some of them are home to Rogue Mages. Therefore, some of them have alchemical ingredients.
