Such is Life
A quest for seerdom

Journal

First Stage
Status: 100% complete
Quest Task: Add 1 additional RP to the required amount showing you Nequus' first encounter with reading a mind out of will. This should set the stage for the next section of your quest and have some particular significance in your characters life. Note one minor/major change in the behavior of your Nequus when they begin to realize what skill they have come across. PM this RP and analysis thereof to the mule. Once this is done and all other requirements have been met the next stage will begin.

Second Stage
Status: 100% complete
Quest Task: 2 additional roleplays showing the two sections of this portion in becomming a seer. At this point a few thoughts should be able to be pried into, and optional mind-to-mind communication should occur with ease. One RP with a forced reading of surface thoughts, and one RP of a mind-to-mind connection.

Last Stage
Status: 100% complete
Quest Task: 1 RP needed only, showing a unique twist on the powers of a seer, and why the Nequus used them in this way. Was it for power, love, or simply curiosity?

RP2: Meeting Death
Kesmi (Brakrin) then Kealdra (Storm) posting order

Brakrin

*Silver hooves thundered against the ground as a pure black Bae Wandered in search of someone or thing to torment. His wings pulled in close to his sides, head low again his neck, two toned mane and tail bellowing out behind him like strange miscolored flags. Brakrin, Devil's heart, as he was deemed so long ago, knew not of where he was going or what he would find here. He was only interested in causing more pain and torture. The only thing that made his mind wander was if his Mistress of Pain, Attia, was having as much bad luck with finding prey as he was. He could only guess that question for he was too far away from her to actually ask.*

Storm was in no mood to be tormented. The pain that rushed through her wings had only just become bearable and she'd left her humble spot of rebirth with as much speed as she could muster. Her tongue clacked lightly on the roof of her mouth and her tail swished against the air behind her. It was all she could do to regain her sanity that seemed to be drifting away sooner and sooner. She had found that these thoughts and visions allowed her to sense things, odd things. There were pangs of fear, love, life that she had never experienced before and didn't want to experience again.

Her hoofbeats were light on the ground, slowed by the constant battle with pain. The pictures flourished, ever spiraling deep within the back of her mind. The ground before her was far less crisp than she remembered it. Storm didn't think she'd last much longer.

It was then that she sensed it, and felt it more from the swarming of emotions all about. The stronger ones felt it, the weaker ones were less sensitive. The pounding of what was that? A color. Silver. That was odd, she shouldn't be thinking in colors. The essence of something with cold intentions. It spiked anger, fear, and contempt in her all at ones, but they weren't her emotions. Her ears flicked back to her skull, eyebrows narrowed. She stopped her movements and waited for whatever it was that these strange emotions sensed. The visions and images that were not hers.

*Head lifting from where it had hung for what seemed the longest time. Stopping for a moment not far from where Storm stood waiting. His nostrils flaring, catching the scents of many, Pupiless eyes glared about at the surroundings. Snorting at the aimless noise and annoying scents that cloged his nose. Front hooves pounding the ground again he went on, breaking through the undergrowth he stopped facing a gold colored creature. Eyes narrowing, his glared upon this one. It seemed familiare, but the scent was a mix of ones he couldn't make out. Snorting he brought himself up to look bigger then he really was.*

"You seem familiar to me, but I dought we've really met before. You look to revoltinly ugly to be one I know." He snorted looknig at the mare with the horns upon her head and webbed wings at her sides. "But then again, I've seen too many creatures to reallt remember one face to another."

Storm watched the approaching figure with distinct distaste. There was something utterly familiar about the way he moved, his presence. It seemed so much like that of Attia's. The beragled b***h who couldn't keep her hands from the weak. May she rot in hell. The images responded with a squeal of excitement, pounding hard in her ears and swirling about her head with defiance. Silence! she shouted at them in vain, though it was only in her head. It only spurred them unward. The more she thought about them, the harder these visions collided with the normal thoughts of her own mind.

She could only gaze in dismay as the other Nequus stopped before her. There was some relief from the voices as she became distracted by the other's presence. He snorted to much, disturbing the peace she would never have again. It was unwise to do such things. The miriad of feelings shot around again, digging at her mind for all that was worth. Wincing she managed to stretch a wing, wind rushing through her teeth in pain as she did so. Did this other one know what it was like? To have your own leather wings slowly stitched into your flesh, binding with bone and sinew as feathers were ripped out by your own creating genes? It was excruciating, and yet she went on.

His next words, though she hardly believed them hurt. She knew these pale and placid wings were a sin to her love and lust. They were a curse of such horrific proportions and likeness even she couldn't bare to look at them. To hear it from another stung, if only for a moment, and set lose a fit of anger into her body. There was an emotion there, malice and contempt; just tickling her mind as though teasing. For a moment she thought to tease it, but cast it away as it was louder.

She eyed him for a moment longer before gathering up herself to make her own response. "We've met," was all she said, her eyes cold focused on his hide. It was that one. She could smell the distinct stale air that he carried about him. Perhaps she'd ring this lovely horn through his heart and see what the devil of the black would try and do to her. If only her head didn't hurt so, she would have done so. "You have too much malice," she scoffed, stamping her hoof to try and drive an onset of pain that plagued her wings.

*This made Brakrin laugh.* "You sound so much like my older brother, who happens to have been blown off the face of this planet. He always said I had too much malice, but hell with it. It's always fun." *Cruelty written upon his face, Brakrin stepped closer to the mare, a little off to the side of her, looking of her. Trying to remember, trying to lpace the face with one that he had seen before. Ears falling back, he remembered, eyes narrowing he backed off a pace, two toned tail whipping about behind him.*

"I know you, your that goody-goody that stopped Attia and I from playing with that bloodless Blaire. Why show your face mow? Coming around to join the fun instead of protecting him? Or is it that you Love him?" *Brakrin had no idea as to what he was getting himself into, but it was a little fun trying to toy with the Mare's mind.* "I remember you... Storm. Why the change? Feathers didn't suit you enough? Or was your plite the fault of a human?"

*Brakrin had a strong distaste for the two leged breed, he wuld rather kill them all and be done with them, but Attia and he never went close to the humans as his Brother Paladin did. Stepping cler to teh taller Mare, he soon circled her, watching her for a raction to his predatory like ways, it seemed all an act, but was it really that?*

The laughter rung in her ears, cutting through her defenses like a knife. She was so much more vulnerable now that this pain had said in. So much less stable since the voices, dreams, and pictures plagued her mind relentlessly. Yet she was the brave, strong, and the protector. She would not hold shame. For a while it seemed that he would never remember, having to step far within her bounds to see who she was. She let him, for his sake, because otherwise he might test the wrong chords and at this moment she was liable to snap.

"Fun is relative," she hissed, eyeing him with deceptive eyes that held a spark of play within him. The thoughts flooded into her mind, not just her's, but others. Some were even warnings, she thought, and she toyed with the idea of turning tail and running as they wished her too. They were not her thoughts, so she stayed. "On custom it was you who came to me." She quirked and eyebrow at him and swished her tail calmly. "Goody-goody is perhaps not the word you should use for me, either. Your Blaire as you speak of him is too stupid to realize such games. What fun is something if it doesn't fight back?" A smile came to her lips, revealing sharp canines which most mares lacked.

He continued on with his little speech, finishing of the plague of words with a distant snap of his tongue on the word, 'human.' She gave him a ginger nod from this. No, no humans, she thought inwardly, but she considered lying to thwart his small brain. "Not humans. Something more. . . " her mind seemed to be lost at these words.

"But tell me of love," she said unexpectantly. "Certainly you would know of it best."

*Brakrin watched Storm as she seemed to be listening to more then just what he was saying. Tilting his black head to one side hw watched her. Ears twitching and he was growing bored of all this chit chat nonsense. A huff came from him as she pranced closer toward Storm, acting like he was just going to pass her by. But it was anything but that 'friendly' gesture.*

"Whatever, you're just as dull and dry as you were with feathers. Why not just crawl back under teh stone you had come from and remain there." She snorted looking at her closely. "Or did someone destroy your rock and you are now looking for a new one to crawl under?" he smirked, "As for love? That's for the bloodless."

*Grinding his teeth a bit, he wondered what her deeal was with asking him about love. What was love to him? Nothing, it was for teh bloodless, like his brothers. But then again, he did have someone that he cared about, that was not the same thing. It certainly wasn't to him. Love was nothing.*
