I have no idea when the date is for this game's release, but I have seen quite a few videos for it, and it looks quite interesting. From what I've seens most aspects of the battle system are the same, but the Special attack system has changed drastically. The battle between attack and defend is no longer ordered button-pressing, but instead it is a tap-or-roll competition between the players, in which whoever can tap a particular button or roll the analog stick quickly enough wins the battle, and will therefore either reduce the damage and end the attack, or increase the attack's power and keep it going. Each segment of the attack has been slightly shortened, but some characters have more attacks added to their previous arsenal, including things that have never been seen (and will most likely not be seen) in the anime or manga. The examples are all here.

Things are much more cinematic, though to be fair, you can't really expect do something like that with the special attacks in something like the Clash of Ninja games. Could you see the CON/GNT games with drawn out special moves like the UN games? I mean, think about it: Here you are, fighting your opponent in a fast paced fight, leaving little to no room for error, especially if you and your opponent are of equal skill, and more so, even less room for thought during battle, when suddenly, someone lands a special move and it goes into a sequence that likely lasts a whole minute, maybe more, depending on the character, as opposed to a few seconds. It wouldn't work that way.

That's true. I saw clash of ninja and I didnt like how the special attacks were initiated, none the less the whole character graphics. I like Ultimate ninja because of the more room for an environment that is given since it is a ninja fight. Ninjas go everywhere when it comes to fighting.
