At the end of one the row you come to a light blue house, it is two stories with big windows on each floor. It is close to the trees surrounding the oasis the stream that feeds the lake can be seen from the back yard. The stairs leading up to the door look freshly painted and the yard is well cared for.
Next to the door is a sign that reads: Please remove your shoes.(( I dunno some people don't take their shoes off when they come inside...That is really odd, I mean who wants to have to get new flooring every few years because you can't be bothered to take your shoes off? )) Removing your shoes you place them next to the pairs already there and enter the house.
Koa wood covers the floors, glistening in the soft lighting of the house. There are three bedrooms, a kitchen, one bathroom, and a living room. The living room has a big black leather couch facing a large T.V. between them is a glass coffee table with a couple books scattered across it. Off in the corner is a full bookshelf.
Moving further on you come to the kitchen, it is well stocked with various foods, and freshly baked cookies sit on the counter. A few dirty dishes still grace the sink from the last meal. The dining table is low to the ground and has no chairs, but instead has pillows to sit on. Next to the table is are several dark green food and water dishes. Each food dish is filled with something different: cut up fruits, cat food, carrots, fish, among other types of food.
Continuing the search for the owners of the house you move into the master bedroom. This room is carpeted with thick black carpet and a huge bed sits in the corner. The bed is covered with an emerald sheet, upon which sleeps two cats. One is black with a small white patch on his neck. The second is a large white and brown cat. The black cat opens his eyes and glances at you, looking quite bothered that you are disturbing him. You retreat quickly and notice a sign sitting on the kitchen table you had missed earlier: Outside.
So you turn to the sliding door that leads outside to the backyard, it is covered by a green sheer curtain through which you can see a large back yard. Near the back of the yard you can see the owner of the house. Silver hair tumbles down her back almost reaching her waist, and you can hear her amused laughter. She turns to you when you open the door, "Hello!" she calls out and gets up to greet you. The first thing you notice are her eyes, which are a stunning green. The next thing you notice is that she is quite short, standing only a little over 5 feet.
"What can I help you with?" She smiles and waits for your response.

Name: Kagemi Race: Half demon, half vampire Age: Unknown, looks to be around 20 Height: 5 feet 4 inches Weight: 122 pounds Hair: Silver, it goes down to her lower back. Eye color: Green Characteristics: Kagemi was born a half-demon half-vampire, giving her strange powers. She is not happy with what she is but has learned to accept it. She needs to "feed" off of the feelings of people near her to allow her use her powers and is reduced to an almost human level if she can't. Mostly she feeds off of lust and passion, which aren't the most filling. She prefers them over pain or anger though. She knows that she is attractive, and acts like it. If things get bad enough she can drink blood to survive, but the price for this is high and she will do almost anything to avoid it. She has a second form which is connected to her mood, the littlest sign of this form is slightly pointed ears progressing all the way to demonic horns, wings, and a tail.
She came to gaia while running to escape from the shadows of her past. She does not speak to anyone about where she came from. It is apparent however, in the wealth she has brought along with her, that she was someone of power there.

Name: Kyosei Race: Night elf Age: Unknown Height: 5 feet 11 inches Weight: 160 pounds Hair: Black Eye color: Blue Characteristics: Kagemi's savior and lover. They met one day at the edge of the forest before Kagemi had come to accept her powers. She hadn't fed in a very long time and was extremely weak. He felt for her and the self-hatred he saw she had. He cared for her and gave her his own blood to help her recover. (( This character is roleplayed be me alone. He is loosely based on my real life boyfriend. In fact he was created to keep my character out of the singles group, and so I could have pretty couple pictures made. xd heart ))

Winged Dustlings This is Yami, she is quite a handfull. Even though she is full grown she still acts as if she were a child. She loves to drink out of the cats bowls to annoy them, and is constantly antagonizing them. Another favorite past time of hers is to n** at Kyurai when hes trying to sleep, resulting in a lot of broken things when he snaps back. It's all in good fun though, often at the end of the day the two will curl up together to sleep.
Wish: Unknown Clan: Mountain Clan

Hinako used to live a life full of fear. But after nearly dying she has earned her wings. Her savoir, a small sparrow travels with her now. She is still timid when she is on the ground, but once in the air she is as brave as any dragon. Prefering to fly whenever possible she will even glide down the stairs in the house.
Wish: Unknown Clan: None

Keika is the child of Kyurai and Tsuki. She may look more like Tsuki, but she is much more like Kyurai in personality. She can go from happy to pissed in mer seconds, but is as loyal as they come to those she finds worthy.
Wish: Unknown Clan: Mountain Clan

Ceri is the boldest dragon Kagemi has ever seen. She simply walked into the house one day when the door had been left open. Kagemi found her on the counter in the kitchen eating out of the cookie jar.

Ivy is the child of Aidan and Aftiel. She has the beautiful coloring of her parents.

Twins:Stormy Twins Arashi and Yuki are twins, endowed with unknown abilities from the powerful storm.
Background info: Arashi and Yuki were found on the night of a huge storm. As Professor Feline ran out to collect them a large lightning bolt hit them dead on. Fearing the worse Professor Feline brought them back inside. Little lightning bolts streaked through the dusts, but otherwise them seemed to be okay.

Ying and Yang

Yin and Yang are the first coment serpent dusts to come under my care. Yin is quite and intimidates the other pets quite a bit. Yang is very active and whimsical, he is the only one who can awaken the playful side in Yin.
Background info: These two are inseperable. However, if forced away from each other, Yang will bring extreme happiness, peace, and joy wherever he goes. Yin will bring death, darkness, and destruction. So, please be advised that keeping them together is the only way to avoid danger.
Wish: Unknown Clan: Mountain Clan Fire Twins A beautiful pair of dragons, fire seems to glow within their feathers, like embers from on a cold night. Suki is their protector. She wandered into the house a few days after they came. Her coloring is such a perfect match to the dustlings Kagemi was afraid to shoo her away from the defenseless dusts. She now brings food to the baby dragons.

Special Dustlings:Martyr Dustling Tsuki is very mischievous, and is not above using his power to get past locked doors and soild walls. His insatiable curiosity makes it so nothing can be hidden from him. He is however, very kind to everyone in the household, and rarely is involved in fights.
Background info: The martyr is... well, a ghostly dustling. Professor Feline believes it died to save its family in the wild long ago, but only from a dream she had. Otherwise, no one knows where he came from nor what he's doing here. Apparently he has the ability to become solid or translucent at his leisure, which is an insanely interesting ability to have. Doors? Who needs doors?

Demonic Dustlings He is often moody, and the only one who can snap him out of it is Yami. He can only stand so much of her though and will often climb into hard to reach places to hide from her. This usually results in giving Kagemi a near heart attack when she opens the cabinet to find him staring at her. He and Yami have formed a close brother/sister bond over time, and are often together.
Background info: Kyurai is one of three demonic dusts found by Professor Feline. Their origin is currently unkown as there are no stars in the sky matched them.

Jasper is the child of Tsuki and Kyurai. He has the calmer attitude of Tsuki, unlike his sister Keika. Dispite their differences they are quite close and will always back each other up. Yami's Baby Book May 28th 2005 Kagemi stood in the middle of her living room, smiling she looked around her new house. She was so relived that everything was finally just as she wanted it. Sinking into the thick leather couch she savored the smooth coolness of it against her skin. Closing her eyes she breathed in, the house smelled of wood polish and leather. Something furry slinked around her ankles, and looking down she stared into the honey colored eyes of a brown and white cat. "Hello my sweet," she whispered petting the top of his head before he wandered in the direction of her bedroom.
Getting up she walked into the kitchen, intending to make something to eat. Whipping up a fruit salad she turned around to sit at the table. Sitting on the table was her Stardust, Yami. She was still in her dust form, looking like nothing more then a pile of black dust laced with fire-like markings. As she watched a black cat paw snaked up and pawed at the dust. "Sky no!" she shrieked dropping her food and running to the table and picking up the dustpan that held her precious Stardust. Setting the dustpan on a high counter she scooped up her cat despite his protests and locked him in her room. Sighing she walked back into the kitchen and placed Yami back on the table and began to clean up the spilled food. When she was done she decided it was too late to eat and retired to bed. May 30th 2005 It started as an ordinary day. Kagemi had been sitting in the living room reading a book when she heard a small crying noise coming from the kitchen, running to see what had happened she saw that from the dust pile had emerged a small head. Regardless of its size it was getting much louder, very fast. Trying to comfort it the best she could she looked around for something to feed it. Finding a half-empty carton of strawberries she cut one up and held it out to Yami. She stopped crying abruptly and took the strawberries and began to happily eat it. Sitting down she lowered her head till she was at the eye level of her Stardust, she reached out gently and stroked her head with one finger. Yami's fur was soft and silky, with little grains of dust still in it from her former stage. Kagemi spent the rest of the day finishing her book while feeding Yami and trying her best to keep the cats away from her. June 4th 2005 Kagemi was very worried for Yami, she had been growing more irritable and this morning she had nipped her finger hard enough to draw blood when she was feeding her breakfast. 'What could be wrong with her?' Kagemi wondered, pacing back and forth as she pondered her Stardusts attitude. She was so involved in her thoughts she didn't notice that something had gotten in her path before she tripped over it. Stumbling she caught herself before she fell flat on her face. Looking back at what she had tripped on she saw Yami sitting there looking very proud of herself. "So that's what has you all bothered?" Kagemi questioned her little dust. Yami had grown, and now sported a pair of wings which she fluttered uncertainly. Cutting up several different fruits Kagemi poured them the dark green feeding bowl she had gotten for just that purpose. Placing the bowl infron of Yami, Kagemi sat down to watch her eat for the first time on her own. June 9th 2005 Faintly Kagemi registered something warm, wet, and slightly rough licking her face early one morning. After turning her face into the pillow to get away from it she felt a sharp n** on her ear and sat upright, clapping her hand to her injured ear. "Ow!" She exclaimed looking around for the guilty party. Sitting at the foot of her bed looking as smug as possible was Yami. She had grown again, and was finally an adult. Her wings were fully grown, and appeared to be completely formed of flames. Small flames flickered at her feet and the flames also formed her long tail which was waving slowly back and forth. Kagemi had learned long ago that the fire didn't get very hot, never going past pleasantly warm. Kyurai''s Baby Book: Part I June 24th 2005 Fumbling to get her house keys with one hand Kagemi gripped the handle of the dustpan with her second, being careful not to tip it. After several moments she got the key in the lock and with a deft turn unlocked the door. Hurrying inside she placed her newest Stardust, Kyurai, on the table. He was currently in his dust stage and looked like nothing more then a pile of black dust, except of course for the horn. A curved blue horn jutted from the top of the pile. For Kyurai was a demonic dust, one of only three such dusts found by Professor Feline. She reached out to touch it, and found that it was warm, and seemed to shift slightly under her finger. Hearing an inquiring cry she looked up and saw Yami staring at her, her head slightly tilted to get a better view of the dust on the table. "Yami, this is Kyurai..." Kagemi explained, suddenly worried about how Yami would take the news. Yami walked forward slowly till she stood beside Kagemi. Her tail waved slowly back and forth as she leaned forward to get a very close look at the pan. She nudged gently at the horn with her beak before thrusting her head into Kagemi''s side. Reaching up Kagemi gently pet Yami''s head, relaxing greatly as Yami began to purr loudly. June 26th 2005 Stretching out, Kagemi sighed happily. It had been a fun day, she and Yami had played outside in the river and had gone for a long walk over the golden sands. She had checked on Kyurai after eating dinner and was finally ready for bed. Gently pushing Sky off her pillow she lay down and closed her eyes, giving into the incessant draw of sleep.
She twitched slightly feeling Yami nipping at her ear. Reaching out she batted at Yami. "Not now.." she muttered sleepily. Shifting slightly she started to fall back asleep.
"SQUAWK!!" Yami screeched into her ear. Nearing jumping out of bed in shock she glared at Yami who sat at the end of her bed.
"What is it?!" She demanded rubbing her eyes as she followed Yami. Walking into the kitchen she saw what Yami had dragged her out of bed for. Kyurai had grown. A black serpentine tail twined along the handle of the dustpan, and a small black head looked at her. His eyes glowed a bright green and seemed to be lit from within. "Hello there." She whispered softly, stroking the top of his head. Looking around for something to feed him she grabbed a bag of baby carrots and offered one to him. Crunching down on it he chewed slowly before swallowing and opening his mouth for more.

Kyurai and Tsuki's breeding
He stirred slightly in his sleep, his mind bringing back memories from his past. A past he had tried for so long to hide from. "Take me instead..." the words echoed in his thoughts, followed by the coppery taste of pain washing through him. He could feel rather then hear the cry that was ripped from his throat.
Images flooded his mind, each following the other so closely they seemed to blur together. Dark fur glowing softly in the moonlight, a black starless sky, blood splattered on white sands, and at last darkness.
A loud crash sounded from around the corner, cutting through the silence of the near-empty house. Tsuki shook his head, throwing off the grip of the familiar dream that clung to him and raised his head looking curious as Kyurai came rocketing around the corner a frantic look in his eyes. Without slowing he sprinted up the stairs, taking them two at a time. Soon the reason he had been running became clear as Yami appeared from around the corner. She slowed her breakneck pace and glanced around the room, Tsuki noticed a small tuff of dark colored hair stuck in her beak before she started up the stairs. "I couldn't just go with them could I?" He thought slightly irritated as he jumped off the couch and trotted up the stairs.
He found Kyurai cornered in the bathroom by Yami. She whipped her tail back and forth happily as she stalked forward. Kyurai backed onto his hid legs fanning his wings, and Tsuki understood what he was going to do. The window, Kagemi had taken all the screens from the windows to allow extra entrances for those who could fly. He wouldn't fit. The bathroom window was smaller then the rest, but he was going to try anyway.
He had almost made it out the window, but his hind quarters were simply too big to fit. His wings were pinned to his side, leaving him stuck. He kicked his legs frantically as he tried to loosen himself enough to get out, but it didn't look as if it was helping. Yami stood there surprised that their game had led to this. Tsuki pushed her roughly out of the way so he could see. Jumping onto the counter he stood up and stuck his head through the wall near the window. "I don't need your help." Kyurai hissed at him barring his teeth. But Tsuki could see the glistening of tears on his fur-he was scared, and all the wiggling had trapped him even tighter in the window causing him even more pain. His front paws barely rested on the roof, they weren't out far enough to let him push backwards into the house. Tsuki shook his head before going back into the bathroom. He was alone, Yami had fled. He ran down the hall to the bedroom and pulled the pillows from the bed, dragging them back down the hall he dropped them under the window. Quickly jumping back on the counter he braced himself then leaped through the wall, landing on the roof outside. "I told you, I can get out myself" Kyurai whispered, but he sounded much more willing to take help now. "I'm going to push you back inside, unless you want to stay like this till the others come back." Tsuki told him, waiting for his response. He wouldn't really leave him stuck, but he didn't need to know that. Kyurai stared off to the side for several long seconds before nodding, refusing to meet Tsuki's eye.
Tsuki moved so that he was close enough to put his head on Kyurai's shoulder. He could smell the blood dripping from Kyurai's torn wing when he was this close, a rich spicy smell that reminded him of cinnamon. He breathed it in deeply as he used his head to push him back into the bathroom. But Kyurai's movements had caused him to become far more stuck then Tsuki had thought he was. "You have to push too." He whispered into Kyurai's ear. He felt his head on his shoulder and was reminded of another who had rested his head there, one whos coloring had been similar. An image began to emerge from his memories, but Tsuki pushed it away, he had failed that time, but he would not fail this time. Bracing himself he pushed. Kyurai came loose suddenly, falling clumsily out of the window and landing hard on the pillows. He stood up slowly, achingly. Tsuki stared down on him through the window, noting his torn wing and ruffled fur. He jumped through the window, shifting back to solid as he reached the ground. They looked at each other. "I won't tell anyone" he whispered before Kyurai could tell him not to. He walked around him and went back downstairs. He paused at the couch where he had been sleeping before, but knew he couldn't sleep anymore. He looked outside. The sun was setting.
He left the house and went to sit on the sand, turning his face to the cool wind that blew. It was safe to think here. He let his thoughts come to him, let down the barriers that held them out. First came images of him. The one he had sacrificed himself for, but it hadn't been enough, he had failed him in the end. He could feel the tears streaking down his face. He was sorry, so sorry. Slowly the images changed showing Kyurai. What did he feel for him? He wasn't sure. He remembered the first time he had come to the house and saw him. He thought perhaps it was a ghostly dust, a fragment from his past life. Then he realized that although he looked similar this one was not the same. This one had wings, and the horns were different. But was it the ghost of him that he felt the attraction for, or Kyurai himself? Kyurai was moody and didn't seem to like anyone but Yami, he seemed to hate Tsuki even more then anyone though. Tsuki didn't know why, all he knew was that Kyurai would never meet his eye, or say anything beyond a few words to him. But yet...He could sense a familiar sadness him, a longing. More then that, he felt drawn to him.
As if summoned by his thoughts Kyurai appeared, he sat down close to him. Neither of them said anything for a long time. They stared up at the sky from which they had been born and they thought their own thoughts. Tsuki could feel the heat radiating from Kyurai, he had to resist the urge to lean against him. Finally Kyurai spoke "I wanted to thank you." he whispered softly, his words almost carried away on the wind. He didn't look away from the sky even as he spoke. Tsuki nodded silently accepting his thanks. "Not just for today." Then he whispered a name, one Tsuki hadn't heard in a lifetime. Tsuki stared at him. "Shi-" "No." Kyurai cut him off. "That is no longer my name" Tsuki nodded still in shock. "How?" he whispered softly, unable to believe, yet wishing against it all that it was true. "It's...complicated. I did die. But I was born again into this body, with all the memories from before..." He trailed off.
Tsuki didn't know what to say. Instead he slowly he shifted closer to Kyurai, resting his head in the curve of his neck, drinking in his warmth. Kyurai shifted slightly leaning gently against Tsuki. "My beautiful precious lover, how I have missed you." He whispered softly, his words carried to the stars by the wind.

The clan's beginings
Yami growled at Arashi, flapping her wings threateningly at the smaller dust. Arashi hissed in return, snapping at Yami's wings, her tail whipping back and forth. The two stood facing each other, fur puffed up to look bigger, a half full dish of fruit between them. Yami shrieked in rage at the other dust, raking at her with her forepaws, this was her food. No one else's.
Dancing nimbly out of the way Arashi darted in, aiming again for the wings. This time she managed to pull a few feathers free. Small bolts of lightning danced over her fur as her temper grew and her normally rigid control over her powers weakened. Yami snapped at Arashi's face, marking a small cut under her eye.
The pattering of feet on wood announced the arrival of Yuki, Arashi's twin brother. He had sensed her distress and come to her aid. Realizing she was outnumbered and outclassed here Yami took to the air and headed full speed up the stairs where she had seen Kyurai was sleeping, screaming her need for his help. Arashi and Yuki took chase, running nimbly up the stairs. By the time they reached the top Yami and Kyurai stood at the top of the stairs waiting. Oh yes, this was going to be a good fight.
~*~*~*~ "Flying rats, that's what they are, you know." Arashi muttered as she licked at the wound on her back that Ceri had given her when she had attacked from behind.
"I know." Yuki reassured her, lapping water from the spring that bubbled from under the nearby rocks.
Anwen appeared from over a nearby sand dune. "I don't think they followed us." She told Yuki, the informal leader of the Stardusts that had fought the winged dusts.
Along with Anwen, Ai and her brothers Riki and Reiki had also joined their makeshift clan. They had made base around a rare oasis in the desert, small stream that bubbled up from under a small rock formation and formed a shallow pool about six feet down. The oasis was small, only a few stunted trees provided some shelter from the harsh sun. But it wasn't too far from town, so they could always travel to the nearby caves if it got too hot.
~*~*~*~ "Stupid ground bound worms" Yami hissed, preening her now slightly less feathered wings.
"Hey! I resent that." Tsuki grumbled stalking off to sit in the shade of the shallow cave that backed their new mountain home.
They had flown up here, with Ying. Yang, and Tsuki making their way up the steep mountain they had decided to make their home atop. The cliff they now lounged on overlooked the desert with the town they had grown up in visible in the west. A close stream would provide water for them, and the forests at the bottom of the mountains would have berries and nuts to eat. Not that they wouldn't return home to visit, but this place would be theirs.
"She doesn't mean you" Kyurai whispered, grooming his lovers fur. Tsuki didnt reply, but instead placed his head in the curve between Kyurai's neck and shoulder.
Looking over Tuski's shoulder he could see Ceri and Keika helping Jasper, who was still a small child, practice flying. Keika had grown so quickly, much faster then her brother, perhaps something to do with that weird berry she had eaten. It had seemed...Magical. Watching Jasper's valiant attempts at flying in between Keika and Ceri, Kyurai felt a stirring of pride for his children.
