Mountain Clan Leader: Kyurai Main Females: Yami, Ceri, and Keika Followers: ----Dustlings: Tsuki and Jasper ----Serpents: Ying & Yang
After the Schism all the creatures with wings took flight and landed in the mountains near the town. Tsuki, Yin, and Yang followed as best they could and eventually met the others at the top. They settled in a large shallow cave high in the mountains. The cliff that is now their home overlooks the forest with the town they had grown up in to west. To the east is the harsh and unforgiving desert.

The Child of Angels
A cold wind rushed up the side of the mountain it's eerie scream echoing off jaged rocks on the cliff face. It raced over the dustlings and serpents sleeping close together to ward off the cold huddled against the back of a cave. Besides the occasional sigh or twitching paw everything was still.
Only one lay by himself at the cave mouth. Kyurai's feet moved as if running through a nitemare. His head shook violently from side to side. Then his wings flew open and he jumped up as if to scare away someone, his eyes wide in fright.
He looked around him uneasily, but he was alone save for the sleeping pile of creatures behind him. It had been a week since Tsuki had left. 'No. Since I chased him away' he thought bitterly staring up at the night sky. The days had crawled by, and each night had been an eternity. He had flown each day scouring the area for him, but hadn't found hide nor hair of him. Down to the house they had lived in, through the forests around the mountains, even over the scorching desert sands.
Why hadn't he just gone and gotten the damn food for him like he asked? Then maybe he wouldn't have left to get it himself. But no, he hadn't wanted to go down to the house and retrieve the damn bag of cookies. Even though it would have been much easier for him to fly down then for Tsuki to have to climb down, he hadn't wanted to. But Tsuki kept bugging him and he had snapped, telling the dustling to get it his damn self if he wanted it that badly. Tsuki had just stared at him for what felt like years, then without a word had turned and left.
And hadn't come back. Kyurai was more miserable then he could remember. He distanced himself from the rest of the clan, snapping at anyone unwise enough to come close. He glanced skyward once more gazing at the full moon, unaware of the tears that trailed down his fur. Flopping back down he curled up, twiching his tail over his face and giving into the unresistable call of sleep.
~*~*~*~*~ Even as Kyurai had stared at the moon Tsuki had as well. Tsuki had found a small cave near the Dark Caverns. But he wasn't alone as Kyurai had been.
After he had left he had wandered out into the desert and stumbled across a beautiful golden dust. Heartbroken and alone he had stopped to talk with her. And somehow he had ended up with the dust he was now curled around to keep warm. They had brought the lady from the building under the lake to put the piles into pans. No sooner was that done then did the dustling push one of the pans toward him and make it very clear she couldn't be seen with him again. Now here he was, unsure what he would do. He had been hiding sneaking out only at night for food, knowing that Kyurai might be looking for him. How could he explain this? He loved this child as dearly as the rest of his children, but how would Kyurai take him back after this?
He nosed the dust resting in the pan gently, wondering how long it would take for her to grow big enough to fly. It would be then that he would make the trip back to the rest...Back to Kyurai. If he turned him away then he would deal with that then, till then there was no point in worrying about it. At least thats what he kept telling himself but the thought was never far from his mind. Resting his head on his front paws he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep, pictures of Kyurai floating through his dreams.
