ive nto figured it out yet, but can anyone learn bending? or do you have to be born a bender, if so then aang truly is the last airbender. unless he breeds multiple times and they all bend air in which case his children would have to breed amongst themselves to create more airbenders. Then when there are several generations they can begin to make more non incest babies.
I think that if a half airbender breeds with another kind of bender it negates the airbendingness from them.
so either aang's family takes a very personal liking to each other or the airbending race is screwed. that's what i think.

[Hollow point] but can anyone learn bending? Oma and Shu come to mind (Omashu). According to their story they learned how to earthbend from the badger-moles.

Is that how bending even works? I don't think its heredtitary*Hopes that I spelled it right*. I allways thought it was like with Harry Potter, You know, "Muggle Born" type of thing. But then again, if that was the case, what was keeping air benders from being born over the hundred years Aang was gone. Aaaaa. I'm confusing myself with logic

this white text is just a placeholder for use in the ornate posting style
Bending is a natural pre-disposition toward an element. It's not hereditary (but can be), and so anyone can feel a pull toward any element, and certainly one's culture and background can affect that. So while Aang may be the only Airbender at this time, it's doubtful that he will be truly be the last. Someone, at some point will learn to Airbend.
