Why,you ask?

Remember how Jack's always hanging out at Barton, or Durem, or Port Gambino, or Isle de Gambino, or Aekea?

It's not well-known (because they're rarely if ever enforced) but there are 'no loitering' laws on Gaia. Now, The Powers That Be didn't care too much if Jack hung out in 2003. Not that many people noticed, right?

But in 2004. oh, man. Gaians trouping around in costume, running across the grass, daring each other to walk along the Durem Reclamation Center, calling Logan and asking if he had Prince Albert in a can and if he had Amanda Hugginkiss in his store, and more examples of chaos, all while they're waiting for Jack to show up?

Not Good.

So last year, 2005, what do they do? They start enforcing those "no loitering" laws.

Now, think what you want of Jack, but the man (er -- whatever) has presence. No one would dare hand Jack a civil infraction. Right?

Wrong.

The Powers That Be called out their old guard:

The Grandma Patrol. They may be down to on-call status, they may have pictures of their grandkids in their wallets and wear comfortable shoes, but they back down to nobody.

So Jack had to pay up.

Which he did. Over and over and over. And in that last stretch, he ran out of funds. So he started asking me to help him out. "Just a loan, Em. You know I'm good for it."

Now, I didn't mind a few times, and yeah, I got some of his extra stash (the popcorn balls are killer!) --

I needed that fifty. You know? But iit was Jack. Jack's not a welcher! So I waited. Through Halloween, and Christmas, and Easter.

Now it's Hallloween again.

And he better pay up! evil

Maybe we need to call in the Easter Bunneh to help.

You -- a member of Jack's Army, the bastion of his strongest supporters -- are publicly implying Jack would welch on a promise? That he'd go back on his word?
