Is Japan at fault?
No way. Any country that had the A-bomb dropped on it has a lot of things to work through.
Yes, because what has been done to it, cannot justify what it has done to other countries.
Err, dunno much about the poiltical happenings, so there isn't much I can say...

While reading up on Paranoia Agent, I came across an article referencing the series, and its social commentary on modern Japan, and it really got me to thinking on the modern world of Japan, and how much has changed about it since ancient times.

What I want to know is, does this mean Japan still has a lot of things to work through, as a country, and as a society, or is it a cultural thing out of our hands? Should they be seen as docile, after the big boy dropped, or are they just using the bomb as an excuse, for what it's done, and continues to do? Is this story, and the animes the article reference a mirror to the state of the country, or just some anime writer's attempt at sensationalism, with Anime as the medium?

I don't really know much on Japan in this light, but there article sure makes a convincing argument.

Having learned a bit of history about a lot of countries, I can say that every country has had it's less than perfect moments(and I do mean every), and it's how they handle them, that impact how the world sees it, after the fact. We've all made a mistake, or two in our lives, and it's our choice to try and run from it, or do what we can to try and make amends, and help both parties move on and move forward with their lives. Humans, by default, are capable of great good, and horrific evil, so it's our choice as to which we act on.
