http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds37202.htmlApparently the next series is going to be set on Earth - they can't afford alien sets... like that ever stopped them before - *cough*quarry acting*cough* I'm sort of annoyed about that - I think it'd be awesome for them to actually go somewhere. The TARDIS is meant to be, y'know, a space machine too... stressed

"The mockery we would get walking into a forest and saying that we're on the planet Zagfon!"
Uhh... has RTD actually ever watched the classic series? They didn't exactly use high-budget sets in the past.

I want quarries! You don’t need fantastic CGI to tell a good story.

CmdrPuffin I want quarries! You don’t need fantastic CGI to tell a good story. Yes, but you don't need CGI to make sets. I pretty much think what Takuha thinks but with less of the " scream "s.

It doesn't actually say that there won't be any stories set off world. It just says the reason they don't do them all the time is that they're incredibly expensive.

You know you'd think with all the RIDICULOUS amounts of merchandise they've released they would've spent the money earned on the actual show
(And trust me i set off a row of 18 remote control daleks in toys r us today cause they had a HUGE doctor who display)

Budget's never stopped anyone else. I mean, look at the Stargate series... "Oh, look! Another alien planet with miles and miles of pine forest in every direction. I think the natives call it 'Vancouver'. And look! It's another run-down badguy-infested shantytown! Just like the one we saw last week!"
