i have heard many myths about them but i do not know if they are real could you please tell me

If they are real they're would be very rare since only about 5 irish families/clans are said to have banshee linked. Personally I believe in them but I've never hear one so.

a banshee is supposed to be irish
they would follow a family of artists around and announce the death of each one, not make them die, just warn them.
thats what ive read before
but on every tv show and movie thing they kill people with their scream, so not sure.

I know the family surname normally begins with 'Mac' or 'O' for it to have a banshee. But I'never heard the part about the families being artists.
Irish banshees are the most well know but they have also been reported in scottlan and even france. But there I think they are given the name 'Washer women' or 'Little washer by the ford'.
I think any spirit that for tells the death of a person is labeled a banshee but they all have different names in different parts of the world.
Example Banshee is the scottish name; the irish is Bean Si.

The banshee fortells the death of someone who's either well known or liked. Occasionally they fortell the deaths of people of greati mportance in chorus, with numerous banshees joining in one long, drawn wail.

A banshee fortells the death of someone, ususally part of six Irish clans. Those six clans are supposed to have a banshee that screams if one of the clan members is about to die.

Unless you are part of one of the six irish clans.

Irish Bean-Si's are connected to families with surnames beginning with 'Mac' or 'O'.
Scottish Banshee are connected to old high class families.
And French Banshee's will foretell the death of anyone that meets them. They are also linked to the washer women that can be found washing the blood out of the clothes someone that is to die. Normally the person that finds them.
