They are in the forest to the west where the river flows from the mountains. It is dusk.

A loud squawking could be heard throughout the forest as the sun was slowly setting making a soft rolling fog start to drift from the water's edge. The chirpping was insane, the birds talking back to one another about who was perched in the wrong spot and that they would need to take off soon in the morning to beat the chill of winter.

Silence soon came as a bright red chestnut mare trotted through the underbrush, crunching plants, leaves, and twigs beneath hoof. She had a long pale blonde tail and a medium mane of the same shade, hidding the small white star on her forehead between her bright icy blue eyes.

It had only been a few days since she had left the company of Tawali and she was still prancing high from the sheer joy she had gotten from the little time they had been together, but that didn't lower her guard to the possible danger the woods had hidden in the shadows. She was very alert with her ears perked and twitching at every sound around her. She did not know what was in store for her as she slowly approached the water falling down the high mountain side.

Sniffing the air, the stallion of orange, and lime hues had walked in carefully. He liked the scent of crass spawning like trees- it meant that their time was surely over. A plant kingdom come was what winter was, as he knew. Seeing the trees, their leaves- a flirty gold, as others slowly rotted to red, and brown. Though he did not pay head to what the birds said, as he knows, if you listen enough for them to notice, they will pull pranks.

Noticing the silence, he lifted his jaw a bit, to see what was out there- but the trailing brown colors and the white- it seems as if she was an omen, of some kind, as her hair was pale, like that of the cruel, but strangely taming winters, and her eyes, blue of that of summer waves. He could barely see- as they looked black from that far. He swished his tail as to gesture he noticed her, and running would be kind of silly.

The stallion lifted though a hoof to think about it- if he walked closer was there a stallion else to take offense of just moving forward to the lady of seasons- in so what he had called her in his mind. Seasons was what she reminded him of. Carefully picked, but he then stepped a few walking steps forward, bowing his head, “Lady, fair--” He did not know what to call her in her presence, just that of her gender- so he would hope. “Might the cold winds blown forth your hair the wrong way?” He had said, as if asking if she was looking for something- maybe.

She snorted softly, noticing that there was another present and stepped forward at a smooth, flowing walk. He was very handsome with swirls lighter and darker than his own shade of coat and accents of lime green with them. He was very striking and seemed to match well with the coming fall.

She raised a brow at his questioned and had to mull it over in her mind before she finally understood what he meant. She smiled, though a bit unsure at the moment.
"Good evening, sir," she said with a slight bow of her head as well as drawing one front hoof back to make it a full bow and standing fully. "I do not believe I have met you before you. I was on my way to some place to rest for the night." She looked up at the sky that was visible between the leaves. A bright starry sky shined above before looking back at him. "But I'm sure I have little fear of bad weather. Who might you be?"

Blushing, he did notice something further. From the bit of her pale brows, he could only feel the sky darkening. He gave a push of his hooves forward as if to shrug. “If it rains, it does, but what if it became an ocean. Could we sprout fins?” He was gesturing, perhaps she was right. It might be best to seek at least a bit of shelter, if not comfort. His tail wavered about a bit, noticing the moisture in the air. He walked up closer, only to take in a closer look. She was indeed something else. Though- he neared no more than three yards.

He has met before in his life, females whom would want to fight him away from them in thought that he was ‘interested.’ He wasn’t like that though. He only wanted to protect if he could. Though that’s perhaps why he has a shy prejudice on females with two horns- and males included. They brushed against him the wrong way, and made him feel uncomfortable. Though the stand he held was firm, and just as to study her eye gesture. Charming. It was like looking at an autumn sunset upside down. The gleaming white that he could only think of sparkling in the sun. The blue eyes- if she was not finding shelter from other herd males- alphas, he’s surprised. He thought to himself that if they saw her- they’d drown. Drown among the oceans of what were irises

Though not to stare too much, he had gained back onto his thoughts,
“I sometimes come around, normally mornings, early, or late at night. I like the mist. It does not hide anything like they say it does. It shows everything.” That he said seemed to be much more for the metaphor as he would always lay in the mist as he could hear scrapings, clawing, neighing, howling, and other noises. Though the one sound he preferred was the soft patter of foals, and mares that graced the ground with comfort. Lady comfort, and nurture. Foals nurtured the ground with laughter, as mares nurtures the youth with virtue... Unless that foal was merely a b*****d that followed what he willed.

She snorted, shaking her head in silent laughter, the white star on her forehead shining like the ones that were above as her forelock moved. "I doubt we can become fish in a matter of hours, sir."

She jerked her head onwards towards the mountains, deciding not to go and sleep at the teepee with her two-legger. She wouldn't worry this night, but morning, she would need to return to see how the girl was fairing. "I know of a cave just a little ways near the waterfall. Would you like to follow? I could use the company."

She started to walk forward, glancing over her shoulder at him as she lead the way. Her eyes sparkled in the fading light before she looked forward again and spoke over her shoulder. "You still haven't told me your name. I am known as Ever Sacrafice, named by my two-legger. I grew up outside of this land, so I know very few Soquilis." It probably explained why she craved company once she meet others.

Nodded, and lifted a hood, with a grin. What she had mentioned was
what he was expected, but he also felt a bit of a jump- somewhere. Energy...
Something... Or maybe that was just lightning. Carefully then brushing
her wrist against the other only to think of how cold the morning would be.
“I can only suggest that it would be fair to keep such a fair being warm.
Though I’m sure if you have a two-legger, she misses yours.”

He gathered himself close to her, while holding his head high, and his
ears back to make sure he caught all noises, as the wind could gush against them
if pointed forward. “Can’t say that I’m not named by a two-legger. I’m normally a satiated
behaved kind, so I was named Sandelwood. Though, don’t stop to think you can
drop me in a pot of dragon’s blood.” Being as close to a gentlemen as he could be,
he hald kept close enough at least to not allow her to feel lonely, and even when
they got to the cave, he stayed towards the entrance to keep watch. He was always tense
though- with the idea of people finding where he was. Even if it was another mare,
he didn’t take kindly to everything- as shown before, he preferred it if they ignored him.

She laughed, her hooves clopping loudly on the stone and mud ground as she turned around to face the opening of the cave. She knew better than to leave her back exposed to the only enterance. "She does not allow for me to remain in her home, so I will just need to make sure she is fine by morning. It is I who worry more about her like she is my own foal. She's such a sad creature," she said outloud, but mostly to herself.

She looked up at him with a smile in her eyes and on her long, dark face.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Sandelwood and I would never dream of dropping you in a pot. I don't think there would be one big enough for you as is. Thank you for keeping me company." She looked about her surroundings for a little while, noting the distant drip of water in the cave. "Do you have a two-legger or are you just as wild as my friend, Tawali?"

Sandel wood had watched this with a pause, ”Then it is best she has such a lively beauty to let her know what she can still be.” With that he smirked, from thought, of how to reply.”Oh. There are ways to rip a male into pieces. Though only you may find that out.” He knew he was serious this round, with words. He would not like to see her harmed at all, and yet he looked to the entrance, and settled onto his elbows and hind quarters that rather looked more comfortable than the usual standing up position. He chuckled to this, because it usually meant he was sick.

Fool’s target position. Play sick and no one would want to ingest the toxins that may be in you. Hunters may even play doctor. Then you give them hell, and run like mad.”
It was a story he knew. Something that allowed him to learn escape routes through dumb luck. Looking to her he grinned. He barely shook the main of his dark hair about to let it pull back from sweat. He was nervous to think about hunters nearing, but that’s what would make him do such a crazy thing. ”That goes to you too, pale haired beauty.”He couldn’t help but to chuckle by now. ”If you see danger, do not do something silly, and wait for me. Aye?” He held his head high by now, against the barely lit edge of the cave. Not touching it, just looking among it. Sober- and yet shy.”I can’t really see myself living with out painful guilt if they even lay one hair on you.”

User Image She raised a brow noticing that he had forgotten her question. She was sure it was just an accident, but how he went on about protecting her, she didn't quite understand. Hunters? She asked the question outloud as a matter of fact. "Hunters? Who would be hunting Soquili?" She had only heard of the dangerous coyote, wolf, and mountain lion. But hunters? She didn't know what they were, being very oblivous to human dangers that could come.

She raised her nose in the air and sniffed gently, smelling the dank moisture and the smell of fresh rain starting to patter on the ground outside. She loved the sound of rain and how calming it made her feel. Most likely because nothing wanted to go roaming in the rain and danger dropped when water cleaned away scents and trails.

"What could be more dangerous than being chased by a pack of wolves," she asked with a snort as the memory came to her quickly.
