Did someone change the National Anthem from "The Star-Spangled Banner" to "America the Beautiful" and not tell me?????
If you're wondering why I'm asking, at the start of the Men's U.S. Open today, they sang "America the Beautiful" instead of the National Anthem......
It seems so wrong!!!! gonk

Did everyone stand for it? Like with hands on their hearts? eek Although, I must admit, I like "Proud to be an American" better than the Star-Spangle Banner... in case we DO vote on a new anthem wink hee hee hee!

They had some military men unfurl a huge flag over the tennis court, and it kept showing an American flag flying on a pole....and then everyone clapped when it was over

How dumb! I love singing the bass line, but the Hymn book version is kinda lame... But fun to piano-tize!

Woah, I just realized that there is more than one verse. Most of the time only one is sung anyway.

Ancient_Dragon It's sad how many people put "4" on the poll... why's that sad? I just want to see how many people actually know the REAL number of verses it has twisted oh, and NOT from the US open, yet.....but someone told me that they did it in remembrance of 9/11--apparently "America the Beautiful" is the official 9/11 song............ WHY does no one tell me these things?????????? gonk
