 I hope some of you find this useful..

It will walk you through how to configure your computer to display and to type Japanese characters, without losing English as your primary typing mode.

Oh, this is excellent. I was wondering how to be able to write in japanese letters. I tried but didn't have the option.

Hmm....methinks this is the UMP-FRIGGIN-TEENTH THREAD I've seen on typing Japanese characters. However, due to the helpfulness of this particular thread, I am making a bold move, as moderator, and STICKYING IT. In the future, any threads about typing in Japanese will be referred to this, then locked.

Yeah, I had seen a couple of threads asking about how to do it,
but I hadn't seen one starting with "here is how".. so I figured it was okay.. ^^

and yes, as Aiko pointed out, there are 2 things you have to be careful for::
First, when you want to type the particle "wa", you have to type "ha" to get the correct hiragana..
Second, when you want to type the particle "o" you have to type "wo" to get the correct hiragana..

EDIT:: Oh yeah, and no need for spaces! ^^

You have to select Japanese on the Language Bar 3nodding
