Darn... and here I was hoping the show was going to be less "domestic" now that Rose and her family are gone from the show.

ARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
*tears hair out at thought of another family in Who*
I suppose on the plus side I like all those actors/actresses wa-ay more than Rose's mum. Though brother and sister? Are they future companion options perhaps?

I kind of like having companions with families behind them. I always found it wierd how the Doctor would just tear his companions from their lives and they wouldn't have any problems. Someone must miss the companions!

I don't mind the family all that much... but I hope they don't visit them as much as they visited Jackie. The occasional visit is okay, though. I'm just sick of the earth-based plotlines. Their budget can't be THAT cheap, jeesh!

Yeah the only episode to take place on another planet was New Earth (not counting the space station episodes) and that was so much like an Earth plotline it isn't really worth counting.

Lucy Stavers Yeah the only episode to take place on another planet was New Earth (not counting the space station episodes) and that was so much like an Earth plotline it isn't really worth counting. How many Series 2 eps have you actually seen? Because your statement isn't exactly correct. While it is true that many of the eps did take place on Earth (or alternate/future Earths), a few of the eps were off planet. What about "The Girl in the Fireplace" which was partially not on Earth? And how about the two parter "The Impossible Planet" and "The Satan Pit"? biggrin

Yeah, found out about that just yesterday whilst casually browsing through the Doctor Who section in the Newsround website. I don't mind the wholse aspect of the companion having a family or anything, it actually makes it a little better, having extra problems of the families. Although too many it'll probably fall apart or something. Dx

Reggie Yates? In something serious? That'll be the day. I bet he's the jokey sibling who's slightly thick. But don't quote me on that.
And why do they keep recycling actors? Fair enough if it's because the actors auditioned and got the parts...but if they were picked because they'd been on the show before then maybe there's still unseen talent out there somewhere that was passed over.
I quite like the domestic side. It makes the characters more rounded, because we see who shaped them, and we get to see the doctor go up against the companion's mother.... rofl

He had better worry about Daddy when he demands to where the heck his little girl's (face it... regardless of age, we're always Daddy's little girl) been and with Who (should be whom but would lose something in the translation if grammatically correct)?!?

Well, hopefully he won't manage to 'accidentally' make her disappear for a year this time.

Oooooo, should be good. Protective fathers up against the doctor...reckon he'll get punched again? EDIT: I'm seeing a pattern in my posts.....
