Why not give them an extra special treat and take them to a tea house instead?

But as for a tea party...recipes aren't really necessary. It's more of what tea sandwhiches to make.
Egg salad is a good choice. Chicken salad is also popular.
Other than that, here are a few tips to help you for sandwhiches:
Start with Cream cheese on any type of bread.
Then add any two of the following:
cucumbers, olives, chopped walnut, pear (fresh or grilled, but always chilled), mint, sauteed onion, bean sprouts, watercress, baby spinach, sliced boiled egg.
Ideas:
Grilled pear and sauteed onion are really good (odd, but good). You don't have to put cream cheese with this one.
Just cucumber sandwhiches are good (with cream cheese of course).
Also cucumber with mint (and cream cheese!).
Chopped green olives with chopped walnut over cream cheese is absolutely delicious, one of my favourites.
Serving:
Make sure you cut the crusts off your bread and then cut the sandwhich in half.
Serve with parsley and a cherry tomato(for presentation).
Idea:
Make a menu for you guests to pick from about a week in advance before the party for what type of sandwhiches they want. Serve you choice of scones and muffins and do what you want for desserts. And provide a list of the teas you'll be providing.
For tarts:
Miniature tarts are best for "odd" tarts. One of the best tarts is onion tart (it doesn't even taste like an onion, its so sweet).
For party favors:
Place bubbles (the kinde you get at weddings, they can be found at Wal-Mart for $4.95 for a pack of 24), tea bags (the ones that come individually sealed), and chocolates (Lindt truffles are wonderful) in a cute party favor bag ties with ribbon.
