What kind of jobs would be available for an artistically-inclined Gaijin? Even though it's not art related, I'm actually thinking of joining the JET program and becoming an English teacher in say, eight years, but even if I wasn't to do that job I'd still like to live there for a few years, possibly while I'm in my mid-20's. My mom actually warns me against trying to teach Japanese students; she says they're all evil. So I'm not really sure about what I'd do money-wise.
Also, this is kind of a weird question, but my boyfriend/to-be-husband (^^ wink will most likely be coming with me. Thing is, he's half black and 6'4". He's going to stick out like a sore thumb. Eh, will that make it harder for him to get a job? He said he'd like to become an English teacher as well, but in the event that that doesn't work out, what kinds of things would be available?

I got hounded by several black dudes trying to sell me s**t in Harajuku, so if he's desperate he could always try to get a job there.

i might as whelz be a gaijin tho i am japanese..but yea.....newho....if i would want a job....it would likely to be at a conbiny or jus study at a college....lol

The dudes in Shinjuku and Omiya were scarry. They were like "hey baby" and I was like "0_0" *runs away really fast* my friend "who watches alot of American movies" said "oh It's a *****" and I grabbed her hand and ran away. She had no idea what it ment.
