Jazz walked along the river, deep in his own thoughts. After walking for sometime, the red stallion came to a stop and looked into the rippling water. He watched as the fish swam around doing whatever it was that fish do. The day was a cool day with the wind bringing the promise of rain.

A gentle breeze was blowing over the land, bring a cooler temperature to the grounds and making the red chestnut mare very grateful for the darker colored coat. She was walking against it, her pale forelock moving from her eyes and showing the white star on her forehead. Her bright, icy blue eyes were watching her hooves more than what was up ahead. She was lost in thought and wasn't looking where she was going.

The breeze blew about the red stallion, ruffling his mane and playing with the feathers in his tail. Swishing his tail, the stallion gave a shiver and was glad for his dark rich coat. Still lost in thought, Jazz didn't notice anyone coming ever closer to him. He continued to think and watch the fish as they played about in the river.

She still had not looked up and before she knew it, she was seeing hooves just a few feet before her and then WHAM!, right into a bright red Soquili. The last thing she heard was a splash and then herself tumbling into the river water. When she stood up, she shook a good portion of the dripping mess from her. Her coat was a darker color and her mane and tail were a frightful mess. She snorted loudly to get the water out of her nose before glancing about to see what sort of damage she had caused.

Jazz had just enough time to hear aproaching hooves before being run into. IN his thoughtful state Jazz had unknowingly moved rather close to the waters edge, and now that proved to have been his undoing. The red stallion was knocked off balance and then his front hooves slipped on the muddy bank, inevitably causing him to tumble into the chill water. Snorting and puttering the stallion came up out of the water soaking wet and looking for whoever it was that had run into him. Turning, Jazz could just see the blury figure of another Soquili through his wet bangs that were now hanging in his eyes. "Are you alright there?" he asked politely not knowing if the other was a friend or foe.

She could barely see between the locks of pale blonde mane, her bright eyes filled with laughter at the sight she saw before her. She wanted to laugh at first, but stifled it quickly, coming out as a short gawff. Before her was a stallion with water dripping down the lengths of his curls, his eyes covered just as much as her own were. He was definately well colored, with bits of a pale blonde, lighter than her own, tossed in with his mane and tail. She smiled under her hair, "Yes, I'm fine. I should be the one apologizing for not watching where I was going. Are you well," she asked softly. She shook her head quickly to try and make it so she could see things better. A frog leapt off her rump into the water. She must really look like a very silly sight.

He shook his own head trying to clear away the now tangled curls of his mane from his eyes. Now that he was able to see the mare in front of him he couldn't help but chuckle at her wet state and could only imagine what he looked liked. The mare had a dark coat much like himself with pale blonde for her mane and tail and pale blue eyes much like the sky. She was more naturally colored, so unlike himself. "I am quite fine except for being completely soaked. I too should have been paying attention to what was going on around me." he said and gave another chuckle. "I'm sorry and do not mean to be rude by laughing. But by your disarryed state, I can only imagine what I must look like myself. My name is Jazz by the way." he said politely making sure to introduce himself.

She stepped gingerly back onto the river bank and gave herself another full shake. The droplets sparkled in the sunlight and she finally turned around to have another look at him, but with the disarray of his appearance, she couldn't keep herself from laughing this time. He looked like a wet dog in a bathtub. "It's perfectly fine. I'm sure I look like as much of a mess as you do. I am Ever Sacrafice. Pleasure running into you," she said with another round of laughter.

Jazz broke out into a full fit of laughter just from the mare's own laughter. Slowly he climbed out of the river and shook himself off still laughing at what had happened. Finally, after a few moments of laughing, the red stallion was able to regain a little bit of composure. "I think that was the first time I have gone swimming in a very long while. It was indeed refreshing in the least." he said making light of the situation. "I am pleased to meet you as well, Ever Sacrafice. Wouldn't you say that was a nice swim?"

She chuckled, shaking her flaxen mane some more to get rid of as much water as she could. It definately was more enjoyable than the last time she had gone swimming and she was certain to voice it outloud as well. "Definately much more enjoyable than the last swimming attempt I made. Less adrenaline pumping this time. Say, let's walk around a bit to keep ourselves warm and to dry of."

He couldn't even think of the last time he had been swimming. "That sounds like a wonderful idea. And while we walk you can tell me about the last time you went swimming." he suggested, very much interested in hearing more about her. And what not a better way to start than by listening to a story. Jazz loved meeting new people and hearing about thier past experiences. It interested him how others reacted to different situation. It was one reason why he wasn't shy around others.

Ever stepped high, flicking her tail every now and then to release more water. Her icy blue eyes glanced over to Jazz and she smile brightly before looking ahead to tell her tale. "Well, I had just met a Wind Soquili by the name of Tawali. He is a bit of a wild child, making me laugh and actually enjoy the play we were having. We were about to start a water fight when I heard a noise in the trees surrounding the lake on the edge of this world. I only had enough time to explain to my friend that we had to flee before I was bolting through the trees.
"All I knew in those moments was to run and to run as fast as I could. I didn't know which way I was going, but I wasn't about to let it be my final moments. I could hear three wolves taking up the chase, growling and snapping at my hocks. I picked up as much speed as I could and soon heard them farther away. But then something blocked my path, massive and wide." She paused then, and glanced over at him for his reaction before continuing on.
"It was the river and I had two options, stand there and get eaten, or jump in. I waited a few seconds too many before actually diving into the water and swimming as fast as I could against the much swifter current. As soon as my hooves hit the bank, I was off again and not daring to look back. I really did not want to see the jaws of life come and close on me. But very soon, I saw something I had never witnessed before. Great white trees rising together and many two-leggers with a few Soquili wandering that area.
I didn't know whether it was good or not then, nor did I really care. So my tale ends with me sneaking away from a village and meeting up with Tawali again later where he gave me two of his feathers."

Jazz continued walking along side Ever as she told her story. By the end he was amazed at not only what happened to her but also by the courage she had to keep running. "Wow! That must have been an extremely scary experience for you. I could not imagine what that must have been like. I am very glad you made it out alive though. Other wise I would not have met you today." the red stallion said with a smile. "I am sorry but I do not have any interesting stories to tell. Atleast nothing as interesting as what you have told."

She smiled warmly, "That's perfectly fine. I don't have many other stories to tell that won't bring up terrible memories. For the longest time, I ran into very few of my kind out side of this place and suddenly, after a few weeks of exploring I know more that I have ever known in my life time." She snorted, shaking her head a bit in disbelief. "Tell me a bit about yourself."
