They are in the plains where the the trees open to the flat greens and the river forks.

The grass was rolling in the breeze, acting like the waves of the ocean to the south. Everything was a yellow-green color making almost anything out there be visible to the eye if they gazed across the lands. It was a nice cool day for once, one of the few times it had actually stayed a decent temperature to not sap the energy of those traveling the lands.

A bright red streak ran across the grass, thunder pounding from her hooves and a stream of off-white waving like a banner. It stopped on a dime, reared up turning around and moving back to the crystal clear river that flowed slowly in one fork and moved quickly with the other one. Her icy blue eyes glanced quickly around before leaning down to take a drink, getting her front legs wet up to her "knees."

E
ver Sacrafice pulled her head back up, her black muzzle dripping with water as she held it in her cheeks for awhile, swishing it around with her tongue, loving to play with it more than drink it. It had been a few weeks since she saw any other Soquili since Chu'mana and Tawali. She had enjoyed the solitude, but things seemed too mundane for her as of late. She wanted to play with someone but had managed to not find any other mare or stallion for miles. It was like they were avoiding some areas. Mentally shrugging, she dipped her head back down, allowing the water to cool her parched throat.

A lone stallion stood to the edge of the grassy plain, other side of the river, eating his fill of the grass that grew in the small flood plain between the two wide rivers that twisted through the forest. His cyan green eyes were watching for predators, ears continually flicking back and forth, listening for possible confrontations. The waters of the rivers were slow, and the gentle lapping of the water lulled him into a sense of security. The stallion was the one known as Tawali, the Wild Child Soquili of the lands. A live wire and a playful companion, though easily misunderstood in his jokes, which got him into a lot of trouble. The Soquili stallion wasn't all bad though. As independant as he liked to appear, he really wasn't as strong as he liked to make people think. He had nothing to be strong for, other then himself, and sometimes it was boring to continually look at a reflection for a reaction. Tawali looked to the sky for a moment, ears listening for any advances from behind, and watched birds flit across the sky. His cyan green eyes softened watching the small birds. What he wouldn't give to be as care-free as those birds, just play around and simply be. Why did he have to have such a complicated, thinking mind?

Sighing, Tawali walked a little way to the river on the west of his position. It was closer to him, and he couldn't be bothered to take the jog to the other one. It was then his ears perked to the sound of galloping hooves, possibly only one set, though he had never been good at guessing the amount. He inched closer, and pushed his head through the reeds keeping as quiet as possible. His face cracked into a grin when he saw who it was though, and, withdrawing from the reeds, trotted up his side of the river to the mare up to her 'knees' in the soft flowing river.

"Well well, is it coincidence or fate? Has old God Fate led me to my old playmate or could it just be my superb luck?" He smiled down at her from his high bank and flicked his tail, wings shaking out. "How are you Ever? Haven't seen you around for a few weeks! Must be quite a trek to your two-legger if it has taken this long for you to re-emerge from the trees!"

She made bubbles in the water as Tawali came up on her without her even noticing. She snorted as she pulled her head up, shaking her mane about and causing it to go into disarray. Her light blue eyes caught ahold of the tan and blood red stallion she had been daydreaming of for the last few weeks.

She broke into a grin and called out her own greeting to him across the river.
"I see the Wild Child has crossed my path again? What shall it be this time? A romp in the grass and then an ambush by coyotes," she asked playfully, prancing in place for the simple joy that they had met up once more.

She allowed herself the chance to refresh her memory of what he looked like, making note of the single long red leg, the markings on his chest, leg, and around the start of his wings. She pawed at the ground.
"But it looks like the Gods have made sure there is a river between us," she stated sarcastically and added for dramatics, "How will we ever cross this one?"

Tawali looked at the water simply, his reflection looking back up, a slight wavering to the face as it grinned and winked first at his reflection and then at the female. He looked behind himself, checking that the coast was clear.

"Stay put, fair lady! Thy saviour comes!" He chuckled and turned tail, walking away from the river and moving downstream to where the reeds pushed for the sky. He snorted and warmed up his legs with a stiff jog in a few swirling circles when, as though spurred on the hindquarters, he started into a thundering gallop, nearing the reeds, snapping his wings out just as he crashed through them, soaring high and banking slowly round in a lazy circle over the plain, a tan streak in the sky as he circled, his exhuberant laughter easily heard from below. He swooped down and landed, trotting along, snorting the reed spores from his nose and shaking his blood red mane. His feathers and ball bearing ear ring jangled as he shook himself out in his trot, then raced towards her, pulling up just before crashing into her, a gleeful grin on his face.

"My dear lady!" He lowered his front, nose dipping nearly to the ground as he bowed before her, wings spreading out in a very extravagant bow. "This fine fella' would like to know whether you would like to take a run! For you see, he finds you most attractive when you are running, dear lady, and it would be a shame not to see that beauty in action!" During his little speech, Tawali's face split into a grin, and by the end was laughing his head off. "Gods of the Soquili! I need to find a good sturdy tree to bash my head against! Tell the two-leggers to shoot me if I ever get like that! Promise you will Ever!" He nipped her and used his teeth to pull her mane teasingly, prancing backwards out of her reach.

She paced in place as he backed away acting very much like a worried damsel, though her huge grin said otherwise. She pretended to be looking every which way when he soared over head and snapped her head up with an act of surprise on her face, though it all was over done.

If she had been any other coat shade, her blush would have been very visible at the compliment he gave her in his silly act of being a gentleman. She knew this was his playtime and so she played along with him, tipping her nose in the air like a high lady.
"A run you say? Good sir, I think that might muss up my fur." She giggled, breaking the illusion. "I do not think I would ask for any two-legger to remove you from here. I'd rather keep you for awhile," she said with a wink before rearing up a bit and running back where she had come from.

Tawali chuckled as she set off, snorting in mock indignation and chased after her, cyan green eyes twinkling with mischief as he caught up, nipping at her flanks with his teeth. His happy whinney reflected off of the trees, the echo surrounding them in his laughter. He ran past her as though it was easy and winked at her with his scarred eye before grinning and lifting up into the air, soaring over head, doing a ful loop before landing behind her, whickering softly. His eyes held a gleeful shine as he pranced happily on the spot, watching her run around, her mane and tail like a banner to any who saw her. He revealed in the sight and was tempted to just lie down and watch.

"Lady, you run like a mad-horse today! What is after this day? Cyotes, Wolves, the dreaded Grizzly Bear?" He chuckled, ears twirling over his shoulder at a small commotion of the birds in the trees, squabbling over the best perch to watch the strange Soquili that pranced around in their plain. He laughed at them, casting one eye over the small twittering balls of fluff, all puffed up to look bigger. They were little more then fledglings, and this was probably their first meeting with a Soquili. He smirked and turned his gaze back to Ever, the sun catching her glossy russet coat. He watched her and smiled, overjoyed at her being his friend, and the possibility of other feelings growing in his chest at the sight of her.

She nickered loudly digging her hooves harder into the dirt to pick up speed. She could tell that she had gotten faster in the last few weeks, working and praticing to with her running. Her icy blue eyes danced with laughter as she looked behind her to shout over her shoulder, "No coyotes, wolves, or bears today. Today I run like how my heart is racing on this day."

She loved the fact that she got to meet up with her friend again and play with him like the last time. The last few weeks, she had been standing around talking to others or off running across the lands to see if she would speed up any more than she already was. Having him around made her heart light and she loved the rush she was getting.

She moved back east to where she started to hug the river, splashing her hooves in the shallow banks before diving into the deeper, calm waters.
"Come on in. The water is a bit chilly, but it's not too fast of a current."

Tawali laughed and followed her to the water's edge, peering at it apprehensively. Water still held a new found fear after the run in with the wolves, but with a last glance around, he stepped in, biting back a squeak at the chill that the waters sent up his forelegs. Spreading his wings, Tawali entered into the water deeper, wings remaining spread along the top, and making him float as he stepped beyond the reach of his hooves and swam his way into the middle, around Ever, nipping her ear and back to the shallower waters, shaking out his wings, mane and body, now a dark tan and dark crimson red. His blue and black markings shone brightly in the sun.

"Ahhh, lady, you do some crazy things! I won't be able to fly for ages now! Just means I'll have to spend the rest of my afternoon in your capable care!" He grinned and pretended to faint, disappeaing under the shallow water, poking only his nostrils out so that he could continue to breathe.

She swam over towards where Tawali had "fainted," moving so she was standing firmly on the shallows and plunged her head below the surface to poke her muzzle against his, blowing hair from her nose. She pulled it back up out of the surface, her pale forelock sticking to her forehead and covering most of one of her light blue eyes. She giggled, prancing a bit in the water, creating more waves. "It's not very often tha a strapping, young stallion like yourself places his care upon my back. You should fear for your life more than anything now."

She was over on the other side of the river, leaning against one of the trees very casually watching her friend play around with a tan and red Wind. They appeared to be enjoying themselves and she really did not want to bother their play and thought it best just to seat back and watch.

H
er bright emerald eyes kept close eye on her mare, Ever Sacrafice, as she casually played with the loose hair below the tie of her braids. She was dressed in dark deer skin pants, vest, and mid-calf moccosins. She had a short, white shirt with a bright green stone around her neck. Evening Night was always more content watching than being in the center.
